So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Rather than trying to find another charity to put together, let's focus on helping to shape next week's news and events. Let's continue to discuss what we didn't like (or like!) about the game, and let's continue to let our messages reach the people of BioWare.
Here's the thing. If we act like cranky, blame-throwing loudmouths, they will tune us out(or even lock this thread, which they can do if we start making it about attacking people instead of discussing the topic of the ending). They won't hear what we have to say, and they won't take us seriously. To be taken seriously, we need to continue to be polite, assertive, and focused on our goal.
Our goal is to get what we believe they owe us: a proper ending to the game, one that meets the stated parameters they gave us time and time again in the promotional materials. We want Mass Effect back.
I want an ending that gives me control of the narrative back until the credits roll. I want an ending that doesn't pass the story over to some unknown character and his kid. I want closure, I want to see an ending where I can survive and stand beside my friends and enjoy the galaxy we saved together. That's what I've been playing these games for 5 years *for*. That's what I want.
What are you guys holding out for?
Hold the line!

Your comments about the pro-ending vs. anti-ending groups have been very enlightening! Thanks for that. At the end of the day, despite all the negativity coming in from haters, we should all be proud of how the community has united. I personally believe this is the biggest testament showing our love, passion and adoration for BioWare. Hate on us if you want, but damn, you can't take any of this away from us!
Be proud! Hold The Line!
Thank you. Don't get me wrong-- I'm not saying all anti-ending people are civil and all pro-ending people are throwing insults and deriding Bioware. As Mordin says, there's outliers in every species. It's just a trend I've noticed on this and other forums.

The first time I played the ending I couldn't talk TIM into shooting himself so I just watched, he shot Anderson (because I didn't want to use the Renegade Interrupt) and I was like "Nooooooo" then waited for a Paragon Interrupt to shoot him, but didn't get it so I again ignored the Renegade interrupt and he shot me and I died....that right there is a better ending than the stupid A, B, C options <_< and space magic

That really an option? If I'd known that, I would have totally gone with that one...indirectly giving the starchild the finger.

how about an option to just kill the reapers and get on with life. i mean, wasn't the crucible meant to specifically destroy the reapers. no one would have agreed to even building it if it was some huge pulse bomb that killed all synthetics and blew up all of the relays, thus killing all life in all solar systems that had relays.

Okay gang, we really need to put the paranoia and speculation to bed. Stop trying to "Blame" things on people or companies without any kind of proof. The charity has given an official response as to why it needed to end the drive from Retake Mass Effect. It was a policy issue, and it's really a fair policy as far as I can see.

No analysis claiming that understanding of the ending requires an ability to recognize depth and symbolism is valid unless it can be proven that the creator intended it. I can give a Droopy Dog cartoon depth and symbolism by picking out elements and making up content around them. But Tex Avery just meant it to be a funny cartoon.Militarized wrote...

A friend of mine just asked me to post this here. I don't know if it has been posted before.
A Logical Breakdown on Why the Mass Effect 3 ending makes no sense
It is quite a long manifest, but very thorough and worthy reading.
/Salute
There was a post few hours ago (5~ lol) that i saw when i was at work.
It explained the ending and made sense (bar the teleporting squadmates).
I came to the conclusion as the ending/s being "Deep and Symbolic" and you need to look at the bigger picture.
But then it hit me, bioware is selling a product to the general public, not some "200k" canvas with a smidge of red paint that only a group of very "sophisticated" people would understand.
Im sorry if im not intellectual enough to understand, but if i wanted to look at "Deep and Symbolic" crap i would go to the art museum.
I consider myself an "intellectual" if one can do that, I can see the angles that they were aiming for at certain points but a lot of it is muddled. You have to be looking for it and not letting the story play out like it's supposed to, from my perspective... that's why it fails. It's trying to be high brow when it shouldn't.
Not to mention their idea of deep is simply cliche and lame.

I'd personally recommend playing something else until we get a response from Bioware since they do track information on what you are doing in the game and we'd like to make a statement. That being said, if you want to replay ME3 I have no right to stop you and I hope you do enjoy it if you do decide to play.N7_Sniper91 wrote...
Honestly, I'm starting to think about playing ME3 again. I haven't picked up my Xbox controller since the 9th. After I saw the endings, I just couldn't do it.
Now, I'm tempted to play again, but just thinking about those endings...
Thats why I've been playing strategy games and Mount & Blade. Steering clear of my ME collection all together until we get a good and proper answer that they'd swear their company to....although I really would love to work on my multiplayer toons a bit >.> but meh.

I want an ending that makes sense in the lore of the franchise. The ending ten minutes just totally throw everything you have learned about the reapers out the window and we are only left with the word of some StarChild. I want to see the battle for Earth with the armies that I have recruited. The game was promoted as "taking back Earth" and we only saw some of the battle over Earth and Shepard's short run through London to get to the beam. I want to see the ramifications for my action throughout the past three games mean something. And above all else, I want an ending where I know what happens to the characters I have fallen in love with. I don't want to just have speculation on how they will all survive. I wanted a complete experience, and I thought that the third game would wrap it up. It was 98% of the way there; now I just hope that Bioware finishes the 2% to complement the game before it.

We may be best to keep out selves going here, vote on polls, offer feedback on what's driving us where we can. But otherwise just keep going but not falling to the behaviour that killed the other thread.
Agreed, had a rage moment earlier because of just how poorly this is whole ending is being handled

I never did get why I was being forced into renegade interrupts. Up 'til that point I was 100% paragon. It seemed odd to me that I was being forced to betray my "alignment", and weird that shoot TIM to save Anderson is a renegade option especially when no other is given.

Yeah, just so disappointing because of how ME3 ended made me panic about what was going to happen to DA3. I loved DA:O then when DA2 came out, it make me worry for DA3. Now with ME3 ending the way it did it just depressing because I love DA.

Yeah it annoys me a bit, I always stick with Paragon choices (yes I know that may be boring) because that's just the type of person I am, I don't like being mean...not even to fictional pixels lol.

Anyone else worried about the official announcement in April? I'm worried, if we don't get what this series deserves and what we were promised as customers that this thread, and all of us who have been very civil and respectful are going to go off the deep end and have massive rage-athons (yes I know this isn't a word) pitchforks and all. If we don't get what we have been asking for, and only get a slap dab bandage, sure we can stop buying Bioware and even EA products, sure we can sell our games or trade them in, but isn't that kind of against what we are fighting for? I don't know, I don't even know if this even makes sense.... I'm just worried. April is a defining moment for us all and I'm worried this could all go horribly wrong....
To be honest i am not really hopefull but sticking around until PAX. After that i will either still be a Bioware customer or not "shrug". Not much else to do in this situation.

I think there will be a lot of that unfortunatly, on my part ill just pack my bags and move on. Bioware if u choose "artistic" statement over player satisfaction then we have got to part ways.
