Anyone else worried about the official announcement in April? I'm worried, if we don't get what this series deserves and what we were promised as customers that this thread, and all of us who have been very civil and respectful are going to go off the deep end and have massive rage-athons (yes I know this isn't a word) pitchforks and all. If we don't get what we have been asking for, and only get a slap dab bandage, sure we can stop buying Bioware and even EA products, sure we can sell our games or trade them in, but isn't that kind of against what we are fighting for? I don't know, I don't even know if this even makes sense.... I'm just worried. April is a defining moment for us all and I'm worried this could all go horribly wrong....

I'm taking the wait and see approach. I have loved Bioware games and storytelling for so long, I hope that they can fix this. I don't really like the idea of the indoctrination theory, but if that is the only way they think they can fix it without a total retcon, I would accept it. I just hope that the company sees that all of this is out of the respect and love we have for their company and games. Mass Effect was the most amazing series... that I can no longer play because of the hollow, empty feeling of the ending. Any fix/clarification they give will be better than what we have. Will it be enough... wait and see is all we can do. Speculation is what they wanted from the ending and speculation is all we have - in both the game and its future.

Just replayed the endings- To whomever said the jungle planet was Aite, I think they have a genuine point. The planet is definitely a few jumps away, as the signal has gone through a few relays before overtaking the Normandy.

Agreed, had a rage moment earlier because of just how poorly this is whole ending is being handled :pinched: But the official word is going to be April, need to stay positive till then

Inded we need to keep up a good face, offer the input, talk about the ending here and our points of view and generally keep thigns together. So we really have to hold the line. This may be the period of time that makes or breaks #takebackmasseffect3

Some of the other threads were seriously getting bad and not hard to see why they wouldn't lock them before they got worse.

I never did get why I was being forced into renegade interrupts.   Up 'til that point I was 100% paragon.   It seemed odd to me that I was being forced to betray my "alignment", and weird that shoot TIM to save Anderson is a renegade option especially when no other is given.

Yeah it annoys me a bit, I always stick with Paragon choices (yes I know that may be boring) because that's just the type of person I am, I don't like being mean...not even to fictional pixels lol.

Ditto here.

This was part of the game stealing the narrative from me that I really didn't like.

Don't change the rules of the game and make it a pivotal moment of the story. Youv'e stayed consistent for three games, why would you stop now? It's not playing fair with the player.

Don't you find that more depressing? They're stuck n Aite.

Yep it's especially true for the ending where they just rip your choices away from you and hope you just go "la la la I choose red it's my favourite colour in all the world! *giddy giggle*"

Sorry, I meant the planet from OVERLORD, not Jacob's loyalty mission.  I get those confused, heh.

Even worse, someone said the planet resembled Aeia, the place where Jacob's father crashed. Now, I sincerely doubt it's that planet, but wouldn't that make for a funny (depressing) story about how the Normandy crew went crazy from the food?

This is an amazing article about how the choices in the game and series at times don't matter in the game.

games.on.net/article/15190/RPG_on_Rails_Mass_Effect_3_and_the_Illusion_of_Choice

And I hadn't seen the fan-made flow chart before for the endings that could have been... really, really thought out and actually takes into consideration what you did in the bulk of the game.

I really like the flow chart. That is really good, specific, and shows you all the choices you made throughout the game. Good stuff man. The article is incredibly interesting. Really good find.

When you think about it, the end of ME3 doesn't seem to fit...as in, it seems like an entirely different ending for a completely different game. That being said, the ending of ME3 seems like a cut/copy job from Deus Ex...

That chart is what I was something like I was expecting. Like in Mass Effect 2, how well you did on the "Suicide Mission" depended on what you did in the game. With that chart, it makes the endings actually make sense in the game you played. It is more than just War Assets on a computer. It actually makes a difference to the plot. And then of course the endings are minus the StarChild, so that is always a plus.

PC Gamer's review on the end of ME3 was
honest, but non-spoiler, so he didn't go into too much detail. This is
what Tom Francis from PC Gamer had to say on the ending:

*He was
talking about about collecting War Assets in a solely single-player
situation, and that to get the "best ending","you'll have to grind the
living hell out of its most tedious fetch quests to get the best
ending." He continues, "The ending I got could have gone a lot
better." [italics are in the magazine] "It's satisfying in some ways,
nonsensical in others, and ultimately too simple. ... It left me feeling
incredibly sad." "I'm thinking back through all that [ his Mass Effect
journey through games 1, 2,  and 3]  as the credits roll, and at the end
of them a box pops up. It says: you can continue to build Shepard's
legend through further gameplay and downloadable content - and reloads
my last save."

At least there's still some honest reviewers out there that will point out subpar parts in games.

The endings for Deus Ex HR. The "dead end choices" here seem to remind me of ME3....They arent the same, but it does seem very much like the same style (yet, even DE managed to have better endings o_O lol).

PA shut down the Retake ME charity donations. Stupid people were petitioning Pay Pal for their money back because they thought they were paying for the ending. They petitioned for their money back from a charity. That is just unacceptable.

The only logical conclusion for petitioning to get their money back would be that they thought that in the end their donation wasnt going to go to the charity and that it was going somewhere it shouldnt. Any other reasson for wanting you money back than that is just utter selfish BS.

I donated a small amount a few days ago, im just glad I got the chance to help.
