This is GOOD. You know we haven't won, I know we haven't won, Bioware knows we haven't won.
But to the rest of the world it LOOKS like we won.
The issue with this however is that Retake Mass Effect movement may lose momentum as more and more potential supporters may believe that we have won and there is no need anymore to support us and hold the line.
I agree with you to a certain extent, which is why I'm telling everyone I know to not stop shouting/loging in until they KNOW for a fact that they're getting what they want. You should do the same with BSN friends or ME friends you probably know in real life.
I'm just pointing out that it'll look even worse for Bioware if the rest of the world believes they promised something and then backed out.
The retake ME movement was huge, if they cop out most of those fans will practically be roaring for blood and real media articles (Forbes CNN BBC) that have already run with the story are gonna rip into this all too gleefuly, not to mention that Bioware will loose virtually the entire clientele that consists of the ME movement overnight, and word of mouth to other, new clients is gonna spread very quickly considering how many people the retake movement actually has.
So yea. The media "getting it wrong" as it were, is actually a good thing for us.
That and the real moment of truth comes during PAX that's when we'll most likely get a definitive answer of "This is the rundown of our plans consisting of x amount of alternative outcomes"
Or
"This is what we have in mind *copout job*"
Then the mayhem starts all over again.
