So we can't get the ending we want after all?

We haven't lost our drive, we are just waiting out the two weeks until PAX for the announcement, if it's not what we want, we shall keep holding the line. Keeping the anger levels up won't make the two weeks go any faster and could possibly make the movement look bad if we slip up and post something that could be viewed as abuse towards Bioware.-PG-Skyre wrote...
People seem to be losing the burning anger that has been driving them, so maybe I should remind people of a few things:
1- They only plan to "clarify" the endings (so we'll most likely just get a wall of text about space magic).
2- They repeatedly state that they have not said they WILL change the end.
3- They're hoping we'll calm down, so that way they won't have to do anything.
Now, re-light those torches, grab your guns. We're going to be on the line for a while...
Don't lose hope. Don't give in. Hold the line.

We don't need 'burning anger', it is self defeating in the end and will burn us out.
We need to stand and hold, but remain calm and reasonable and not allow our passions to take hold - even if ironically it is passion that caused us to draw the line in the first place.

On the charity-action: Even though the cap has it, I can still donate on it, can I?
I've seen some links in this thread, even after the cap has been hit, that led me to the site with 80050 or so dollars on it. The donation was still possible there, even with the possibility to give a comment to the founder of the fund.
I hope my money helps the kids and I didn't go for a scam:(.
Edit: Hold the line.
You can always donate directly to the charity, or to another charity through their sites.
Thanks. Good to know the money goes to the kids.
I pretty much know what this kids are going through. I'm happy the movement has done this.
Sorry to bother you all with it, but seeing everything with the movement as it turns out in the past days and weeks, I can't say how proud I've become to be called a gamer if such people are sharing this title with me.
Normally I don't want to speak this much about it, but quite a part of my childhood was spent in hospitals. Sometimes my gameboy was the only way to forget all the things around me.
Seeing new worlds without a wheelchair or the exhaustion some illnesses can cause...or the pain.
Guess that's the reason why computer-games are still my biggest hobby and mean a lot to me.
Still many games go so far as to inspire me in working for a better future, just as books and movies did in the past.
And I wish for Mass Effect 3 to become such an inspiring game, with a better ending.
I'm close to finish my bachelor-degree in engineering and one of my hobbies is to make a small, personal R&D for exoskeletons like the ones that are mentioned by Joker in his comm-talk with Vega.
It's wonderful to see so many people donated to help the children.

The ending of this game was beautiful, and absolutely intense. It is not something to be belittled--but it belonged to an entirely different story line, and an entirely different set of circumstances. Instead of an ending that displayed the culmination of work between both the development team and the gamers themselves, it seemed to cut out the gaming community entirely. Never mind what the critics say... critics can be bought. I look to the indie critics, the lesser-named publications, even the no-names--the ones who do this for the passion of it, and they are not happy. They are a reflection of the overall feeling of the community.
I would like to elaborate here a bit.
Space-child was appropriate in 2011: A Space Oddessey, It is not appropriate for either ME3 or the ME3 universe.

All right. Although the chipin account is now closed after the 'vocal minority' of ME3 players raised $80,000 in less than two weeks. You can still donate money to Child's Play through their website;
http://www.childsplaycharity.org/
It is a worthy cause, and well worth donating too. I hope that we have helped the charity not only by directly raising funds for them, but also by making more people aware of its existence.
Other than the totals, I hadn't been checking up. Not that I care where or how we donate (I have to directly since my CC wouldn't work through paypal via ChpIn for some reason) but out of curiosity, why is it closed after $80k? Why wouldn't most people continue to donate from there and see just how high we could get it? I rather liked that I could see a semi accurate total of what the movement has done monetarily. Was that a preset goal or was it a limit posed by ChipIn etc?

Seems the Galactic Dark age is intended and therefore the ME universe and all the characters we have grown to love are completely down the crapper.

Just a thought here. But if you wanted to do something extra for the charity, beyond simply donating money, maybe you should try and get in touch with the guy who runs it.
Your story might help them explain quite how much video games can help children in hospitals from first hand experience - and in a way that I'm guessing the kids themselves would find hard to articulate. If you are willing, this could be more helpful to them in the long term than any money you can afford to give them.
Just a thought *shrugs*
