I agree, but you and I are very aware that if anger gets out of control on BSN, the only way it will be stopped is the moderators closing the thread.

Ah, thank you. If it hasn't already, this link should be added to the list that Mr. Connery posts every so often.
I understand why now though I am a little sad. I can see how what we were doing would be viewed but I hope they at least know none of us intended for our efforts to be taken like we were hijacking their cause etc.

Thanks. Good to know the money goes to the kids.

I pretty much know what this kids are going through. I'm happy the movement has done this.

Sorry to bother you all with it, but seeing everything with the movement as it turns out in the past days and weeks, I can't say how proud I've become to be called a gamer if such people are sharing this title with me.

Normally I don't want to speak this much about it, but quite a part of my childhood was spent in hospitals. Sometimes my gameboy was the only way to forget all the things around me.
Seeing new worlds without a wheelchair or the exhaustion some illnesses can cause...or the pain.
Guess that's the reason why computer-games are still my biggest hobby and mean a lot to me.
Still many games go so far as to inspire me in working for a better future, just as books and movies did in the past.
And I wish for Mass Effect 3 to become such an inspiring game, with a better ending.
I'm close to finish my bachelor-degree in engineering and one of my hobbies is to make a small, personal R&D for exoskeletons like the ones that are mentioned by Joker in his comm-talk with Vega.

It's wonderful to see so many people donated to help the children.

You aren't alone there mate. Spent over a decade in hospital as a kid, its where I fell in love with Bioware games (Baldurs Gate FTW, I still have the discs ^_^),

I would suggest 'smoldering passion', if that didn't make it sound like we were in the middle of a cheap romantic novel fluttering our eyelashes at each other. Besides I'd look stupid in a corset.

True. However, from what I've seen (and have become impressed with) is that most of the members that are here generally manage the constructive use method for their feelings.

People seem to be losing the burning anger that has been driving them, so maybe I should remind people of a few things:
1- They only plan to "clarify" the endings (so we'll most likely just get a wall of text about space magic).
2- They repeatedly state that they have not said they WILL change the end.
3- They're hoping we'll calm down, so that way they won't have to do anything.

Now, re-light those torches, grab your guns. We're going to be on the line for a while...

Don't lose hope. Don't give in. Hold the line.

Being "on the line" for a while  is vastly underestimated I believe.  Most people where thinking a new ending would come fast not to mention the believe they where paying for a new ending insted of donating to charity.

True. I feel like I have a "burning/smoldering.roiling/ passion" but I've never once lashed out in anger against the companies or other posters. Because I, and most other posters, know it's counter productive to what we want to accomplish.

With the movement and the BSN, I've been more active in a froum than I have in a loooong time. Thanks guys =)

Does anyone know a Bioware email address that's most likely to be read by a human being?

I don't know, why people would want their money back from a charity. It's not like there was a banner like: "This huge uproar of consumers is brought to you by Child's Play"

You won't know unless you try...

Anyway, anger is what I'm most concerned about when PAX east rolls about.  For the most part, the Retake movement has been largely civil, polite and reasonable in our dealings with Bioware.  While Stanley Woo and Jessica Merizen may not agree with our goal, even they have acknowledged that we've been a disciplined group.  I'd just hate to see it all go down the drain if people get too worked up at the Bioware panel and start abusing them.

I feel like people would have to be wearing some pretty opaque blinders to believe that. We've always made it clear that the movement donated to Child's Play because we wanted something really good to result from our banding together. We never presented it as a way to "buy" a new ending.

I voted only if it was a brighter ending. These current endings are too bleak. I play games to unwind and feel better. Not be crushed.

I think most of us understand that whatever Bioware decides to do will take time. A large part of the frustration has been dealt with by having a response from Bioware. That's not to say that we're taking it as a solution to everything but just that they've acknowledged us as a group and those of us that have been constructive about it. Now we are patiently giving them the time until April to reveal where they are going from here. As long as they don't mistake patience for disinterest.

I agree, there's enough bleakness in the world as it is. But there should be that ending for people who choose that path. I for one want my Shepard to win, kick Reaper ass and survive like the hero she is!

I think the best thing to do if Bioware either doesn't make a statement at PAX, is offering the gaming version of post-it notes as a 'changed ending' or tries more of the 'say a lot that means nothing' would be to just walk out.

This would probably have a much more dramatic impact than screaming and shouting; Imagine half the audience silently standing up, turning their backs on Bioware and walking out of the door while they are still waxing lyrical about the brilliance of their Multi-player DLC....

Here's a new point to consider as to how BW could have handled their risky ending. The following is a post from a different thread:

http://social.biowar.../index/10449943

------------

Kishala wrote...

No it hasn't. Bioware tried something with ME3 that didn't work. They took a risk and the payout hasn't really been great. I would rather a company take a risk and fail than fail to take risks. Risk taking is how we got Mass Effect in the first place. thank you Chris Priestly for suggesting Bioware try a new IP instead of more liscened games and those years ago!!

I agree with this up to a point. The risk here, I think, should not have been taken due to the situation. To clarify, ME1-3 has been a tight-knit trilogy with the touted illusion of choice binding the series. The fans became invested in the lore, story, and the characters. The payoff, i.e., the very end of the series, should have been a culminating event of epic proportions rather than a piling mass of dwindling sizzle. I think it would have been more prudent if the risk, in this particular situation, had been taken in a DLC, e.g., the game should have had an ending similar to what we had been clamoring for and the DLC should have the current ending with the star child et al. That way, BW could have expressed their "artistic" vision while minimizing any potential negative feedback because the fans would have been more receptive to what BW was trying to do.

Just a new take & opinion on my part.

And that right there is largely why we all still come here and talk about it, comment on articles and generally continue to make controledd noise. We know we have to be patient and we know we'll hear another official statement in April. Since we don't want it to seem like we've given up / been placated / etc, we continue to discuss so they know we haven't forgotten.
