And that right there is largely why we all still come here and talk about it, comment on articles and generally continue to make controledd noise. We know we have to be patient and we know we'll hear another official statement in April. Since we don't want it to seem like we've given up / been placated / etc, we continue to discuss so they know we haven't forgotten.

Is it just April in a general unspecified way or linked to PAX?

I'm worried about PAX too. Bioware has pretty much split the fanbase in two, and both sides are bound to be well represented at the convention.

I'm envisioning posters, chants, shouting.... :-(

I keep hearing about ME4 did I miss something?  they make the first 3 pointless in 10 or so min that we are going to give them a chance to do the same thing in a new trilogy?
Mass effect 4-6 rebuild the mass relays and accidentally revive the catalyst restarting the cycle buy now!!!! dear god.....

I think the best thing to do if Bioware either doesn't make a statement at PAX, is offering the gaming version of post-it notes as a 'changed ending' or tries more of the 'say a lot that means nothing' would be to just walk out.

This would probably have a much more dramatic impact than screaming and shouting; Imagine half the audience silently standing up, turning their backs on Bioware and walking out of the door while they are still waxing lyrical about the brilliance of their Multi-player DLC....

This^

I would love to be at PAX to help hold the line and try to keep everyone calm, but it's a long way to go from England, not to mention expensive.

Worst case scenario? "you guys wanted to know what happens at the end? we made a 15 min cutscene showing the horrific deaths of all your crewmembers, and shepards body is put through a wood chipper, incinerated while you LI watches, and He/she is then executed, then everything explodes. Is that not what you wanted? Closure?"

So has anyone noticed how in the galaxy map before Cerberus HQ mission you can hover over 4 unnamed clusters (one of which has Omega in it)? They also have Reapers over them.
Better get my tinfoil hat.

I noticed that too while warping around. Most of these issues where because they were unlocked later in the game. Still, it is irritating knowing that something is clearly there that has been removed or masked.

Anyway, anger is what I'm most concerned about when PAX east rolls about.  I'd just hate to see it all go down the drain if people get too worked up at the Bioware panel and start abusing them.

*edited both quotes for size*

Yeah, I'm hoping that PAX doesn't end up being a disaster of sorts. Cybermortis' idea is one of the better ways to keep things civil while making a statement.

Maybe they bought shares in HDD manufacturing and just want to clog up the space

If that were to actually happen, and people walked silently out en masse, I would be very proud of them.  The signal sent to the gaming media would have them completely dumbfounded.  Of course, here's hoping that doesn't eventuate and we actually a firm statement at PAX.

The real challenge at PAX will be to distance yourself from trouble makers, don't try to calm them, don't get involved in any way, people like that will be going with a plan to cause trouble, so nothing you say to try and calm them will work, your best bet is stay away from them.

Unspecified but we are guessing/hoping PAX. To quote from Dr. Ray's statement:

Building on their research, Exec Producer
Casey Hudson and the team are hard at work on a number of game content
initiatives that will help answer the questions, providing more clarity
for those seeking further closure to their journey. You’ll hear more on
this in April

There's always a chance that a worst case scenario will happen. I just take the wait and see approach. Many of us have said that if they take this kind of response to "closure" that they will lose us as customers. I can really only speak for myself but if they do just give us more of the same, I will just do what I did when SOE gave me a royal screwing with their CS. I simply won't ever again buy a product that has their label or I know they were involved with.

I think it would have been more prudent if the risk, in this particular situation, had been taken in a DLC, e.g., the game should have had an ending similar to what we had been clamoring for and the DLC should have the current ending with the star child et al. That way, BW could have expressed their "artistic" vision while minimizing any potential negative feedback because the fans would have been more receptive to what BW was trying to do.

Just a new take & opinion on my part.

IF the star-child's arguments have been more logical and thought out (which they were not). Then I could see the logic in making him/it a DLC that added to the story. Having the being who created the Reapers explaining WHY they did so before the last rush towards Earth could have given the ending an entirely different twist and the very sort of speculative ending Bioware said they were aiming for...if it was written with some careful thought.

In fact potentially they could still do this, by cutting the current ending out and making it part of an earlier mission with the 'endings' giving Shepard bonuses of some form (Say a bonus to damage and ammunition carried for destroy, health and shield bonuses for sythesis and a bonus to powers for dominate).

Not that I expect any of this to be considered *shrugs*

That thing with Child play is sad. I thought we could easily break the 100.000$ mark next week.
But I can understand where he comes from. He (As in the manager) made this company with his efforts, of course he does not want to simply be attached to us forever, as in always thought as "Attached effort". Sad, but I completly understand him.

I think Forbes has summed it up for the good part. Bioware can simply go with the Indoc thing and add new endings. Everyone happy now can simply not download it. Sad thing, even if the answer satisfys all, some people don't want to give others an advantage. More so it is annoying that people are getting involved who never played a ME game, but protest against a change either way. They could possibly not understand where we come from, and I want to see if the reaction would be the same after spending so much time in ME and then play the ending.

Anyway, any news?

Making a mess on PAX may just kill ReME3.

It will give Bioware right to call us "troublemakers" or "hooligans".

Just imagine how the press would cover that in their articles.

Dispite the best efforts of bioware somthing controversial seems to happen every 24 hours, but the childs play thing was the last thing like that.

Some other problems in the singleplayer campaign:
-You spend 70-80% of the game time scanning, walking on the citadel or normandy listening to people... Guys, bioware.. I thought i bought an RPG action game, not a Social experiment simulation game -.-

This is not actually an issue. It's just a matter of presentation.

I like the way it was done this time. Keeps you wandering around rather that just making a beeline from quest giver to quest giver. Certain much better in visual presentation than floating exclamation points over the character's heads.

But I digress, this kindo f discussion is better served in another thread, like the one Bioware created for feedback.
