So we can't get the ending we want after all?

This is the pessimist in me coming out but it's been said before. If there are any troublemakers, it won't matter that they may be a lone individual. The coverage will lump them in with us regardless and once someone posts that the others will take it and run with it. I sincerely hope that no one, movement related or otherwise, acts unprofessional at PAX.

Like DJBare said earlier:

The real challenge at PAX will be to distance yourself from trouble makers, don't try to calm them, don't get involved in any way, people like that will be going with a plan to cause trouble, so nothing you say to try and calm them will work, your best bet is stay away from them.

Making a mess on PAX may just kill ReME3.

It will give Bioware right to call us "troublemakers" or "hooligans".

Just imagine how the press would cover that in their articles.

I just hope that anti-ReME3 people don't pretend to be us to give us a bad name.

They actually may do that. I fear that any idiot resorting to rudeness or any form of stupid protest will be labelled

I would hope I am right in saying that whatever happens at PAX (bearing in mind that this is currently just speculation on our part) will be civilized. Realistically even if there are troublemakers there I imagine Bioware would come to these boards for reactions rather that just look at the public at PAX. I would love to be there this year but alas, responsibilities come first.

Actually, isn't there a PAX East platoon heading out to the convention? Maybe they could properly organise (get the ReME3 twitter and FB accounts to advertise the fact), meet up and set up a briefing of sorts before the panel. Remind people what we've achieved, but more importantly, what could be lost if they lose their focus and temper.

As I recall someone was orginising things at PAX. They should consider arranging for retake members to be wearing something distinctive - a badge or banner of some sort - that will only be decided the night before and handed out on the day.
This way if someone does make trouble - or someone decides to try and discredit retake - it will be easy to see if they have anything to do with the movement. I'd go with paranoia when it comes to working this out - I'd work on the assumption that someone would be there trying to wreck things for retake.

I think Forbes has summed it up for the good part. Bioware can simply go with the Indoc thing and add new endings. Everyone happy now can simply not download it. Sad thing, even if the answer satisfys all, some people don't want to give others an advantage. More so it is annoying that people are getting involved who never played a ME game, but protest against a change either way. They could possibly not understand where we come from, and I want to see if the reaction would be the same after spending so much time in ME and then play the ending.

Anyway, any news?

This is so true, I really hope they go with the Indoc theory, yet if they do, people who have never played mass effect or never played all three games will surely push back. I believe that should change it and make it an optional download so it will support both sides. Btw I am lurking at work lol hold the line brothers and sisters!

Given EA's past "anti-publicity" blunders, it is entirely possible that something has already been planned for PAX. At this point, smoke-and-mirrors is a valuable resource for them to paint us in an unflattering light.

Damn, I'm cynical!

I wounder I see a lot of people saying its the journey not the end.
would they also try to tell that same line to a Titanic survivor? I think not.....
and as far as the Whole PAX thing goes ya if someone starts something just move away from him so hes standing alone.

Heh, that made me chuckle a bit, am I a bad person? *shrug*
Anyway, I second that, atleast in something that doesn't go on as long as say a normal lifetime because hey, we're all going to die at some point. However, with this series, while yes the journey makes it rather memorable, the ending would've made it EPIC if done right. What we got through was an incredible journey to the corner of non-sensical and artsy. Which is nowhere nearly as exciting of the prospect of ending our journy at any number of destinations ranging from "we dun goofed" to "We Are the Champions!".

They need a kirrahe speech. I have one from when I first joined the movement (sorry if the lines mess up, they sometimes do when posted in the past):
You all know
the mission and what is at stake

I have come
to trust each of you with my life

But I have
also heard murmurs of discontent and I share your concerns

We were
trained for great endings

We would be
legends

But the
records are sealed

Glory in battle
is not our way

When Bioware
gave us a terrible ending, we held the line

When Gabe
knocked us, we held the line

When big
gaming magazines called us whiners, we held the line

Our influence
will bring us great endings!

In our stand
today

WE WILL HOLD THE
LINE!!!

did anyone remember a few months back that bioware said that they would love to do an mmo built on the mass effect series??

the ending by the looks of it seems to be a build up to that mmo.

if there killing the ending of ME3 JUST to start the line into an MMO then they have totally screwed up, i mean ME3 is ment to be the swansong of the entire series and is supposed to go out with a bang and in a super memorbile way which pleases all the fans.

if they stuck to the origonal script (which was leaked) then we all would have been happy, BUT thanks to a lead writer who in in a short and simple term said

"oh noes the script has been leaked, i better rewrite the whole script and postpone the launch"

the real ending which we ALL know was the 16 endings that varied depending on your reputation score over all 3 games, like if you were paragone throughout the entire series thats where you get the best ever ending, renegade ment the worst ending possible instead of this one ending in 3 ****ing colours and if they even TRY to say

"but its really 6 endings because the choices you made.............oh wait you dont have a choice"

i SWEAR i will smack someone.

bioware and EA are NOT going to talk to us untill PAX is over, its THAT obvious.

they need POSITIVE press but right now, its ALL NEGATIVE because they are NOT actually trying to talk to us, hell there answers on ANYTHING on twitter are as cryptic as hell in a blender.

if they talk to us and tell us what there real plans are and then explane why they did it then we MIGHT be happy enough to stop, BUT with there continued swerving of answers and avoidance to talk to the 2 million+ customers who have finished the game (after 3 weeks i think everyone would have finished it by now) it just makes everyone more angry and more inspired to fight the good fight against bioware and EA.

to quell the masses bioware would need to STOP with the PR machine and actually come into a face on 1 to 1 honest speech, if they DID to that then that would make them look more human than machine.

PR teams i dont like as they never give answers and always ALWAYS make the ones making the complaint out to be a55holes and just in it for the money.

if bioware themself WITHOUT the pr team let EACH of the writing / production team make open letters without repercussions to US then it would set an unprecidented event in game development history.

IF bioware DOES bow down to pressure from us and OTHER outlets and we win then mass effect 3 would be 1 of a less than handfull of games that had there endings totally changed due to fan outrage.

also we are hearing about the amount of copies being sent out and the amount and sales and EVERY argument i have seen says

"we have sent out 3.5 million copies of the game and only a fraction of the amount sold were not happy with the ending"

just how many are STILL sitting UNSOLD on game and supermarket shelfs

big diffrence here is this

sent out = items sent to stores to sell
hell i could send out 10,000,000 screw to be sold in stores and then say only a tiny fraction of those sold were not happy with the metal and then do nothing about it.

now i understand that at least 990,000 of those 3.5 million shipped copies were sold worldwide (not fully sure about this btw), now on these forums ther are now ROUGHLY 120,000 INDIVIDUAL people who are NOT happy with the ending, thats over 12% of the sales, and ot of all those how many took the FULL REFUND from EA and AMAZON.

bioware come clean
come out from behind the wall of ignorance
pull your fingers out of your ears
open your eyes

LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE

For some I reason I had a dream last night that I was playing an epilogue DLC. Because my Shepard died, it forced me to play as this guy named Travis. Travis attended Shepard's funeral on a rebuilt Citadel, which then got hit by Cerberus. After taking them out Hackett told Travis that he had to choose between destroying either Thessia, Rannoch, and Tuchanka, to restore the Mass Relays. My Travis decided to blow up the Citadel and the Mass Relay reconstruction device along with it. As the credits rolled I thought "that was really short for 1200 MS points". Then I woke up...
