Apparantly nothing we've done or anyone we've interacted with through three game matters. Oh and we need to open or minds because we're just not getting the big picture.  My brain hurts now.

Sorry about that.  Try this one.

What is with all the jerkyness and cuts? It's like they couldn't keep a straight face making their arguments and had to edit the hell out of it. Could be just a troll video.

did anyone remember a few months back that bioware said that they would love to do an mmo built on the mass effect series??

the ending by the looks of it seems to be a build up to that mmo.

*snip*
LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE

The MMO would no longer work because there are no mass relays to explore the galaxy. So they appear to have thrown that idea out the window.
Hmmm, maybe that was the fate of the original ending script. It fell out the window at the last minute and they had to rush one to stick to the release date.

How could bioware even think about making another mmo when they are already struggling to support the one they already have? Especialy when appart from window dressing it would be the same game with the same watery decisions

For some I reason I had a dream last night that I was playing an epilogue DLC. Because my Shepard died, it forced me to play as this guy named Travis. Travis attended Shepard's funeral on a rebuilt Citadel, which then got hit by Cerberus. After taking them out Hackett told Travis that he had to choose between destroying either Thessia, Rannoch, and Tuchanka, to restore the Mass Relays. My Travis decided to blow up the Citadel and the Mass Relay reconstruction device along with it. As the credits rolled I thought "that was really short for 1200 MS points". Then I woke up...

Please don't give them ideas. :P

I haven't seen too many people mention this but I really wish they'd done more with Kai Leng. Especially after reading Mass Effect: Retribution, he seemed like the type of villain I'd love. I want ME3 to be the end of Shepards story as it was intended, I truly do. I just don't want *everyone* to die because they had so much wsted potential with this villain.

PAX worries me like many of you, I don't exactly remember Penny Arcade being objective in the whole situation, although they're probably professional enough to not let their opinion smear onto PAX, it still worries me greatly that the 2 oppositions will meet under these still very heated circumstances, something is bound to go wrong, even if it's the opposition that fires the first bullet, the media will surely focus on us being the "entitled, whiny, incompetent brats and ragers" ( this is just a small sample of the wording used against us ) it's funny how the irony is lost on them the moment they start throwing insults around.

All I can say is, if any of you reading this thread are participating in the PAX event, sadly I can't myself as I don't live in the states, find your fellow ReME3 friends, make them realize just how much it will damage our cause, if we bite on any of the flamebait, or even if we bite on a bad statement from Bioware, be the bigger man that you are that have a vocabulary above that of " f** you morons" that have been provided by the opposition. Show the online review sites that insults and slurs, are not part of our whole agenda.

This may have been addressed. I have 40+ pages to catch up with.

But...

There are some that are very disheartened by the closure of the child's play drive, that key members of the moment have been less active, and threads like this one are slowing down.

I see this as the natural ebb of things, though.

At about $30,000, the donation drive did everything we could have hoped for with regards to press attention. If it was spun in a good or bad light, the world suddenly became more aware of us. Anything beyond that was just a feather in our cap, and an extra game in the hands of a sick child. Any hard feelings I have about it being shut down revolve around the knowledge that this was many people's first introduction to Child's Play. But... and I'll be the bad guy... Continuing the drive didn't further our goals. Ending it, doesn't hinder our goals.

Yes, after more than a week, threads on this matter have slowed down. The reality is, they've mostly stopped saying anything unique for quite a long time. That's not a strike against the community. It's just the way of it. There comes a point when you've said all you can say. (Which, for me, makes the "please give us feedback" remarks all the more incendiary. Read the Forums!)

Bioware says "Wait until April," and many are doing just that. They have a faith in people that I don't share, but I can't fault them for that.

Others have burned themselves out, and are taking time off. No strikes, here.

People, like me, will continue doing what they are doing.

This is my fifth or sixth post. I don't say much, because I'm not very eloquent, insightful, or smart.

But, I fight in the shadows.

I've come to these forums every day since I completed Mass Effect, hitting refresh like a mad man. Bioware can see that, if they are so inclined.

They probably are so inclined.

I'm probably not the only one.

Worst case scenario? Is that not what you wanted? Closure?"

Ah the Blake's 7 ending...that would do...assuming I didn't mind being locked away in an underground vault somewhere to avoid the nuclear level explosion of rage from the fanbase

Not every post has to be considered eloquent. =)

Many of us (like I'm doing right now!) post to commiserate with others to keep the thread going. Certainly we stay on topic and yes a lot of it is rehashing and speculation but that doesn't mean it's not worth posting at all. Lurk if that's what you feel most comfortable doing but don't shy away from posting just because you think it might not be deep enough. Every post has merit because it shows that we still have a vested interest in how things are going.

Umm, I know I haven't read all 2000+ pages, but can someone explain to me what PAX is? Is that where Bioware will be answering questions for Fans or what? It seems like a bad thing if people lose their cool there.

agreed, it's tough to continue to rehash, but there is a common goal here.....to hold the line.....i thought that there was no way i'd ever be in these forums after 6march12.....i was in here before hand as a way to bide my time until release day....i never expected the end to be such a disappointment that i'd spend more time here than playing ME3.....i'm proud to say i've held the line and will continue to do so.....

Shepard isn't that type of hero who must die in the end: Mordin and Thane died doing something good, but they wanted to redeem their lives; Grunt wanted to let you have the opportunity to excape, but he didn't do anything bad, in fact he survives the Rachni; Samara would have had such a stupid (looks like to me) death, that they even let you choose to save her. Shepard didn't do anything bad either, so he deserves a reward, not a "redeem death".

PAX = Penny Arcade Expo

Basically a convention created for fans of video games, and because it's such a big convention developers usually have a presence there. Bioware has a discussion panel being held there, and the organized group we have going in the BSN has been warned to keep it civil and just calmly ask your questions, we aren't going to show up and yell "Y U LIE BIOWARE?".

Something like this needs to be posted around the other forums so that anyone attending knows what they should do.

did anyone remember a few months back that bioware said that they would love to do an mmo built on the mass effect series??

the ending by the looks of it seems to be a build up to that mmo.

They can't afford to make another MMO.

SWTOR cost them something like $200 million to develop, and they haven't come close to recooping that money yet...in fact I don't think they have really proved that the TOR is going to survive long-term yet. Certainly it has underperformed to date - although that may have been more a case of EA/BW's predictions being too optimistic than any problems with the game itself.

I'm not too sure, but I *think* that the drop in EA's share price back in Febuary *might* have been related to the news that TOR wasn't doing as well as predicted/hoped.

In any case, MMO's are expensive ($200 million is almost twice the production cost of the average film - typically big budget films cost some $120 million to produce, not including marketing), take two to three times the time to develop as a normal game and require a lot of personal.

At this point the chances of Bioware being able to create a Mass Effect MMO are close to zero.

They don't have the money, EA is going to be totally against the idea because the brand name isn't big enough to pull in players in large numbers (certainly not right now) and even if they started right now they couldn't have it out for at least three or four years - by which time Mass Effect would be a distant memory for most people.

They probably did discuss the possibility of making a Mass Effect MMO, just as I suspect that they also considered doing the same with the Dragon Age series. But I wouldn't expect them to do anything more than consider them until or unless they can prove TOR works and they have made their money back on that...which again is likely to be a few years at best.
