The Tech Singularity: This is not a bad idea necessarily. It's been mocked pretty hard "yo dawg" and other memes. The issue the space boy is bringing up is that this advanced culture had the power to destroy the frabric of the galaxy. They had the A bomb and feared losing control of that power to synthetics. Makes me think of the Matrix, and it's a valid position. We can argue that the response was wrong, but I see the justification. Keep advanced species from creating a danger to the galaxy. Reapers are not synthetics (this is a sticking point for a lot of people) They are organic/synthetic fusion given a single purpose.

The fact that we've made peace between the Geth and Quarians makes the situation more poignant, but it's tough to justify a single brokerage of peace against eons of cyclical organic/synthetic violence. If anything it shows that conflict is never black and white. Both synthetics and organics have a right to live, both are the perpetrators and victims of violence against the other.

You know, a lot of the singularity guys see the key to our surivival as the creation of a benevolent AI first that can head off any that might seek to destroy us.  After Shepard makes peace with the geth, don't you think they serve as a firewall against future synthetic destruction?

man I hope this talk about MMO for ME and DA isn't going to come to fruition cause its bad enough they put multiplayer on ME3.

Just my thoughts on the matter

Even if the possibility was open, with how much SWTOR cost and how much of a backlash against ME3 there is, I doubt they're even considering it now.

If their "preservation of artistic integrity" in the ending is still an attempt to salvage an MMO, then they're not being very smart because none of us are going to buy into it if the endings aren't fixed.

Also, the three endings still leave enough of a difference that they'd have to pick a canon one.  I mean, synthesis?

Our Choices Should Matter - Hold the Line

SW:TOR ship seems to be slowly sinking, and I am not even talking about ME3 fans cancelling their subs. No way Biowrae/EA are going to risk another MMO right now. IT would be just plain bad business.

/Salute

PS. It seems many fans are already filing compaints against EA/Bioware for false advertising. If you want to do the same, here is a helpful link.

I'm a bestselling writer, having sold thirty novels. I'm drafting one at the moment. Of those thirty, seventeen have been published. The other thirteen are in various stages of production or under contract, as I have deals slotted into 2016. By any definition, I am a successful human being.

I play Bioware games for the story... and because they are fun. Until the end of ME3, I had been a loyal fan, despite the hiccup of DA2. But there is no excuse for the wretched writing and storytelling displayed in that black hole of an illogical trainwreck. If they have no more care for their IP than this, then I choose not to spend my disposal income with them.

Have you written anything we might know? Come on, give us some titles. Free publicity....

Hello fellow ME fans. I haven't posted on a forum in about 10 years (the time I did was only about once or twice.) I have the same feelings about ME3 as I would say the majority of the people in this forum have. I have been lurking the forums for a while now and figured it was time for me to say that I wanted to support the Retake movement. I love the Mass Effect series and my feeling about the endings are strong enough for me to come out of "lurking" and post on the forums!

I also just found this article on IGN (very recent I believe): It mentions the movement.

That recent Forbes article said they'll be having a livechat on the Forbes facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/forbes) at 2pm EST, where they'll chat about the ending, DLC and game journalism. That would be very interesting. Completely wrong time zone for me though :/

Space magic? :wizard:
No in all honesty I think that is where you were when Harby shot you with his lasers. See I'm a fan of the indoctrination theory, it makes sense to me at least. So Commander Shepard is still in London. He/she still has yet to defeat the Reapers. Of course I have no idea how said Shepard will complete this task. I firmly believe Bioware has tricks up their sleeve, and they will give us one hell of a (real) ending.

But wait, where did they get enough Shepard to throw in a wood chipper? He got blown up on the Citadel and toasted. Did they use a squeegie or something..... OH NO MORE QUESTIONS! AHHHHH!

Thats only in the shepard lives endings, in the other endings well......... erm... Dam you plotholes, how can bioware writers not have their head explode every second of their lives?

I'm hesitant to care about that little scene because I'm with Jeremy Jahns on that part. Either he's a live or dead BioWare... unless the Indoc Theory is true, in which something from BioWare could easily clear up.

Not sure about the head-explode thing though. Perhaps magic of the space variety? Or sweet hats.

That is pretty much bang on the mark there. DLC = a bucket ton of money. So if they gave us the DLC ending with the 16 different endings where all our choices from ME1 and ME2 effected the actual outcome of ME3 as well as the war assets etc in ME3 and we all get the endings we wanted......... And they charged us for it......... Well bioware thank you very much for the games i have played and i truely mean it but i will not be buying a product from you ever again.

If it was a free DLC that's fine...but having to pay for the ending would mean that they sold an incomplete product as complete. They would end up being fined in every-single country the game was released in for false advertising at the very least.

Oh, and no one would touch their games ever again.

Can you imagine? If they will make an ending DLC they should go with the indoctrination theory, and be all like WE WAZ KIDDING THE WHOLE TIME! It'll an interesting April.

Maybe, but will they charge for it? I hope not, for their sake's. Nowhere in their pre-release publicity was it mentioned you'd have to purchase the ending later.

They are on very thin ice with this.

I was responding to someone else and forgot quotes.  Yeah the indroc theory is believable.  All I was saying regardless of what you think, that scene isn't speculation.  It happened, and it happened for a reason.

I feel it is a leadup to some kind of ending dlc reveal.

That could set a really bad precedent, but we shall see how things are handled.

Welcome to the line, Beast!  Take a seat, grab some coffee and settle in.  We're a friendly bunch, so you won't have to worry about anyone biting you.

Except for that guy with the shifty eyes.  I'd keep an eye on him if I were you.

I understand what your saying, but my biggest problem with the Tech Singularity is that organics are just as capable of destroying each other without synthetics.  Just look at the the Rachni Wars, the Krogan Rebbelions, or the First Contact war.

Yeah. I agree that that scene is real. It has to lead to something. I agree with you 100%. If it is true then Bioware are a bunch of writing ninjas . If not they can always use the indoctrination theory as a scapegoat.

I always thought before the game released how the hell will they do any meaningful dlc? If we are supposed to be getting a final conclusion then you can't really have anything after that wont be disappointing to what came before, and If it takes place mid game, whatever it is would be mostly irrelevant to the rest of the plot so only usefull to extend the experience of the game, so they were screwed both ways unless they pulled something like this
