So we can't get the ending we want after all?

It just occoured to me that Mass Effect post-ME3 is going to be very similar story-wise to the latest installment in the X-series, a series of space-simulator games that I doubt many of you have heard of. Look at the plot synopsis for the latest game:
"The X universe was always defined by gates. Gates that were (almost?) the only technology that allowed its inhabitants to bridge interstellar distances.
The gates were built by a very advanced ancient civilisation a long long time ago. They were later used by the different populations that developed in the X universe and they relied on them for trading and for their everyday life.
A while after the events told in X3:Terran Conflict however, the gates suddenly ceased to work. Why? That's still unknown. This shutdown however had dramatic political and economical consequences. Millions of people were isolated far away from their former home and many systems suddenly lacked the supplies of food or other resources they needed for everyday life.
At the start of X Rebirth, these events are again a thing of the past, but they have formed a changed and new universe. "
Honestly I wanted to have an ending where Shepard turns out to be an Antihero, and instead of facing insurmountable odds head strong like a Mary Sue, buckles and decides to be a coward attempting to commission a giant sleeper ship instead of the crucible to leave the galaxy to burn.
Then again I mainly want this so I could have Freelancer 2.

These mass relay explosions dont wipe out the systems like the Bahak one did, calm down.
Also it doesnt burn out Eezo and FTL technology, Xoisite(the space copy owner) himself said it doesnt and he doesnt get why people have this idea. Only the relays and everything living that is synthetic.
I don't know if there is an ingame explanation but just going by the video the relay explodes, we then see the galaxy map just like Arrival showing massive explosive shock waves (perhaps artistic license though) radiating outward and chaining through the galaxy. We then see Joker in the Normandy trying to outrun the shockwave, the look of the background seems to suggest the ship is moving at FTL speeds and he still gets caught in the shockwave. Again, maybe the game explains this, but at the moment it doesn't make sense.

These are only the Mass Relays that gets destroyed, well that's how I understand it

God why cant you give us a sunshine and rainbows ending if i wanted bittersweet or totally ****ed id turn on the news video games are suppose to be an escape so i dont have to deal with the daily reality that our world is going to hell in a handbasket
Because then you wouldn't get to see Bioware's "grown up" dramatic grimdark edgey "realistic" "sophisticated" ending to the interactive cinematic experience that Bioware is selling as a game.

I hope everyone here knows the endings aren't the only problem. Supposedly dialog was greatly cut from the original version and characters become "Zaeed" type characters that you can't talk to between important missions.
This bothers me GREATLY. Conversations with the squaddies has been the backbone of inter-mission fun in ME and ME2. Why not take a hatchet to that too. It's like in ME3 they took an axe to everything that made ME and ME2 special character-wise at the expense of beefing up the third-person shooter aspect - which is not the game's strongsuit, nor why fans love (loved) it.
Like I said it's going to be a year or two before we learn (through former employees, leaks or admissions) what the hell happened here.

'That said, the magazine’s definition of “loose ends” must not cover potential teases about where the series might go in the aftermath of Mass Effect 3 - since there is “an interesting sequence after the end credits.” Gamestar doesn’t specify regarding what players can expect from the after-credits sequence – though it’s safe to say that you’re going to want to hold-off on that bathroom break. Regardless of what exactly is shown, expect that the footage will represent an evolution of the story (rather than a simple continuation) – as well as, maybe, answer why BioWare is encouraging players to hang-on to Mass Effect 3 game saves. Maybe Shepard resorts to desperate measures to expel the reaper threat? Measures with lasting implications?'

Squadmates have their usual 4-5 major conversations (except for Ash apparently) and are Zaeeded between them.

All those Zaeed style lines were already in the script. I don't see what the problem is. In ME2 you could still enter conversations with them, but after you were done talking to them it was either "Can it wait for a bit? I'm in the middle of some calibrations" or "Shepard, are you sure you still want to date me? *yes**no*".
I'd rather they have some different lines to cycle through when you get through the conversation path.

wait, what? did they also remove romances too? because only dialogue on the ship goes toward the romances.

I think everyone is judging the game rather harshly seeing as it hasn't even launched yet. Can we wait until we actually play the game ourselves and see everything in the proper context? Sure the stuff floating around sounds horrendous, makes me wanna puke, but be an adult or at least mature person, shut up and play the game. Hopefully, this is all just the work of teh troLLz.
I have the feeling the game is going to be great up until the end. Then a lot of people are going to be really angry with the Normandy Wallbanger and the not so different endings.
More than 100 hours of story (for me anyways) ruined in 1 minute.

I still haven't figured out why this is happening. In ME2 there was a possibility Shepard could die and that end couldn't be carried to the next game. We have the last game in a trilogy. We could have anything from Reapers win to Shepard meets with his/her love on their homeworld. But we just have the same thing, relays destroyed, Shepard dead (all but 1, though he/she might as well be), Normandy stranded.
Why are they forcing us into one ending when they don't have to?
Same reason why they forced players to work with Cerberus in ME2 and same reason they don't let them support Cerberus in ME3; lazy writing, forced plot devices, etc etc.
