So we can't get the ending we want after all?

So far, we have NOTHING concrete. What we have is:
A) Multiple statements from BioWare, Casey and Muzyka, that they are very aware of what is going on and that they're going through the feedback. Good. That's a start, but it's the same announcement over and over. Until April, it seems, that won't change either. The knowledge that DLC is coming. I did not need a statement at all to figure that out. I have pretty much all the DLC from ME2 and I yes, that was costly, but it was worth it, for me at least.
If the DLC was so successful in ME2, you can bet your collective behinds there will be DLC for ME3, so that is not news.
They say it'll bring closure, but it is all vague. Until I see an official post on FB or here, saying "DLC "NameXYZ" is underway, experience the aftermath of the final battle/see what's next/finish your playthrough in a new way", the line will be held.
That's what I keep saying, but people are still excited. Personally I'm still waiting to see what they actually give us, until then I'm not really getting my hopes up, since it sounds more like they want to put in somethign that explains the ending rather than offer an actualy better one.
Well we need to make it clear then: We are not going to accept an explanation, we want a new ending. Beyond that we need to make it clear: we are NOT going away. However, many people are just waiting now (that is why it is so silent compared to the last few days), because they voiced their displeasure and got a response that can be interpreted as positive (major media outlets claiming victory for us).

Ok, I finished reading the ign 'article' about movement winding down, and am currently torturing myself with the comments. Is it usually this hostile there, or has the place been overrun by hairy creatures with tails and fangs? Just so I know whether to steer even clearer of the place in the future.
They only think its winding down because BW has closed our PR thread which was home to some great minds that simply aren't posting now and because the charity drive has been stopped. They're trying to make us vanish.
This thread is highly prolific though so that proves there are still thousands of us that aren't going anyway.
And after the PR damage thread going we're coming back with our own site anyway, we just need to regroup first.

Because I've come up with something that I think might just solve things for everybody, in a logical, satisfying way, while maintaining the established endings for those who want to keep them. And I mean EVERYTHING gets solved:
- a better, more logical version of the Reapers' origins
- EMS and War Assets count for much more, in a really tangible way
- Paragon/Renegade options exist, plus reputation is taken into account
- Tweaks are made, getting rid of the lore errors and continuity flubs
- Epilogues and closure! Each version has it's own follow-up, but with room for speculation about 'where do we go from here?'
- Thematically fits better with the true theme of the series - choices and self-determinism versus inevitability. A meta-statement on the nature of choice-based storytelling such as Mass Effect
...and best of all? I reckon it'd take less work to create and implement than 'Lair of the Shadow Broker' did for ME2, so it'd be entirely feasible to do.
I'm probably going to create a massive new thread in this sub-forum to elaborate on it, but I'm pretty convinced that this might be the 'eureka!' solution we've all been looking for.

Oh, I'm not talking about the article it self, I recognize it for what it is... quality journalism [ / sarcasm ]
I mean the comments, they are so hostile it's not even funny, and I lurk usually arounbd the deep end of the pool, so I know hostile when I see it.
So I'm just wondering if this is the spirit of the site, never having really visited ign for anything more than walkthroughs/trailers, or whether we are just doing so awesome the little hairy and tailed creatures which are not to be named in this thread felt the need to rage.

There's an ending feedback thread that's stickied at the top of the page, though we've already had a list of our wants summarized in a 'mission statement' that DJ can point you to.Richard 060 wrote...

Don't worry, i'm doing it only because i've got some spare time.
From now i'll have less time to give to the movement, so i'm trying to make more things when i've got time.

The Witcher 2 has 12 different endings depending on how you played the game and the choices you make.
I dont mind if Shepard dies at the end of one choice or if you did realy badly in getting enough war assests. What I hate though is questions being left open, and the same endings but with different colours to them.
Synthisis what the hell ?
Why does Shepard who against all odds has killed Reapers and made alliances, cured the genophage just sit down and accept this kid that prattles on?
The Starchild as people call it has a flawed logic anyway why doesn't Shepard point this out ? And makes the AI controlling the reapers break this programing loop?
Starchild " I made the Reapers to harvest all organics and to preserve their essence inside each Reaper. The Reapers are synthetic creations.
Shepard " Why do this ?"
Starchild " To stop synthetics from destroying all organic life."
Shepard "?. So you make Synthetics to kill organics to stop Sythetics from killing organics?"
Starchild " Yes."
Shepard "Don't you see a problem with what you just said ?"
Starchild "No."
Shepard " Ok let me explain. Repaers are synthetic ?"
Starchild " Yes"
Shepard "So they kill organics to stop Synthetics from killing organics."
Starchild "yes."
Shepard "see the problem there ?"
Starchild "No. Would you like a cup of tea ?"
*Sound of gun shots and reloading of thermal clips.*

Well that's it, I think the movement will really come to a head with this announcement in April. If it's "No we aren't changing it" or "Ok we'll give you a 3 min epilogue, how bout that?" I think that'll be it for most people. At that point all my caring about Bioware will go down the drain and I will never buy another Bioware game again, and I doubt I'll be alone.chrrue_ wrote...

I haven't personally followed what has been going on at IGN and I also have only ever really skimmed their material when stuck tring to climb a cliff in tomb raider or whatever, lol.
What I have heard though that they are really breeding hate over there so I've given it a wide birth.
Is it IGN fans taking their comments as fuel and just ripping anyone from RME apart?
