So we can't get the ending we want after all?

At this point I'm going to wait and see without committing myself one way or another, and keep my expectations low. If we get nothing Bioware gets my personal boycott for life, along with their master EA. The same applies if it is or is part of a paid DLC.
If it is a free DLC I'll probably download it to see what its like...but if we end up with the DLC version of a post-it note or one fingered salute....

Before seeing ME3 ending, I was planning to purchase the last two books that came out based in the mass effect universe.Did they ever "fix" the last book or is that part of their "artistic integrity" too?
I believe they plan to release a new edition with fixes/changes to address the issues. But I could be wrong.

worst part about it....they are probably sitting there going....hmmm if we just patch in shep telling sombody to gather the crew and retreat....

You know.. That really would say something wouldn't it? To just give up like that and call it a day. I would shut off my 360 and just... walk away. They are smarter than that their track record proves it. I refuse to believe that they made every other aspect of the game amazing, only to look at the ending and say "Eh, good enough SHIP IT"!!!
No no no'! those minds at Bioware are very creative, and a comm call from Shep saying retreat?? Please Joker would most likely shut the comm off and head towards Shepard at full speed.
What you said made me angry. Not you yourself, but just the thougt of that actually happening made me angry.
Whoo. To care so much about a game... Man we are a dedicated bunch, and thats a good thing though since all we want is for Biowrae to do what they do best. Make fantastic games we invest in, care about, and want to succeed.
They can't expect us to expect anything less from them.
So Bioware do what you do best. It's all we ask of you.

Couldn't have said better myself. If or when they release an ending dlc i will first wait for someone to finish it before i try.allyon wrote...
I am weary of this whole April thing. If they release a DLC good for them I wont buy it though. My trust is so shattered with this company. I wont be buying anything, until I see it examined and poked at by groups of "intelligent" people. If they release fix I will come here1st and then decide. I had posted before how upset I was that I pre-ordered. This is only time I had ever done so. To get burned so bad the one time I do it. Heck I still have not "finished" the game.

Well you can argue that all the post endgame dlc for mass effect 2 did not change the endings, so either we have semantic differences or they are screwing us with a bit of cut dialogue

If that's the case, well then no money from me. Why on earth would I need closure to an ending that makes no sense and negates almost all of my choices through three games?
//Edit: Plenty of other good games out there. Y'know, Skyrim never really gets old.

You all make some good points, so for the moment I will hold the line.
But mark my words: potential backlash and money loss didn't stop them from doing things like the Day-One-DLC, Origin requirement, the no ME1 face import and the crappy endings.

Well, if that means just an "explanation" with "what happened to the characters" dlc, it could very well be another good example of a straw-man. They can say: "well, wasn't that what you wanted?". And then say "well, some people are never satisfied". But noooooo. That was not what we want. We want better endings, that, by themselves, will give better explanation.

Well, there you have it. "Clarify and add closure." In other words, double down on the current ending. That is NOT why people hate the endings. Either they don't get why people are pissed, or they do but can't bring themselves to admit the ending sucks so they're trying to plug some of the plot holes they didn't notice until fans pointed them out.
Prepare for disaster.

If you order a cup of coffee, and the barista serves it with pondweed in it, and you complain...
...is it an 'adequate' resolution if the barista apologises by offering you an extra helping of pondweed?

Forbes is doing an excellent job at answering and giving honest opinions. Heres a quote from Erik which gives his views on the subject:
.................................................................................................................................................
Erik Kain: "There have been a few questions on what our opinion of the Retake movement is and why we're taking it seriously. I think the Retake movement is a great example of grassroots customer dissatisfaction in the age of social media. I also think that any business should take complaints from customers seriously, and that it's simply bizarre for developers (or media) to write paying customers off as "entitled." This is especially true when the outcry is obviously not just a tiny vocal minority as some in the gaming press have argued. From a purely pragmatic stance, treating your customers as though they ought to just shut up and like anything you give them is extremely short-sighted and only works in very non-competitive industries like health insurance. Game developers do not have a captive audience and shouldn't act as though they do, for their own sake if nothing else."
Amen to that. It feels like Bioware is taking it's customers for granted. That is something no business should do, especially one in an industry like gaming where people can just go take their money elsewhere
...Which is indeed what I will do if they don't fix this in a satasfactory manner.

Well this "whiner" (so named by yet another rude person not taking the time to understand what we're saying) is feeling let down by this news. I keep trying to hold onto hope on this one, Bioware staff keep posting messages like "you will be rewarded" and "if only you knew what we had planned" but to then just say they're providing "clarity and closure". I'm not stupid, I got the ending - I just hated it and feel that it didn't work with the franchise. PLEASE Bioware don't let me down.TSC_1 wrote...
