I was watching another video that has already been posted and I started to wonder about the fact that if you have over 5000k war readiness you get that 4 second glimpse. I wonder if they plan was always to have another ending at some value of like 10k that would only be possible with all the DLC or downloadable content pushing you over.
It was another thing I thought of in regards to the fact you get those 4 seconds if you are 5k+
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

On the plus side, if the biggest game journalism site on the web just went on video saying the end doesn't make sense then I'd hope it'd put even more pressure on Bioware to recreate it. I mean they were pushing the indoc theory hard and unlike others commenters actually admitting that if indoc is true there NEEDS to be DLC incoming for it to work.
True...but I would have had some respect for IGN (even if they play dirty), if they at least stuck to their guns and didn't back down on their position.
For them to turn around and AGREE with us, after all of that??? I will bet a hundred credits they will still maintain the position that we are spoiled children, despite agreeing with us.

If this is so how did shepred get back to earth? why is he still alive? if he did fall why is the ruble he is surrounded in concreat and not metal? From the evdince Iv seen Mike just wanted to see what people came up with in there own minds for the ending before releasing DLC showing us the true ending.

I understand what you're saying, but, why would they use so much PR talking "Game Content Initiatives" to "provide closure" when they could just say "We are working on a new ending" or "We are working on some alternative endings"??Unless what they really want to say is "We are not changing the ending but we don't want to say it in your face" .infinitekilan wrote...

Just to get up to date . The "official" bioware message gave a hint about a "possible dlc which explains the current ending" right ?
Not dlc, "Game Content Initiatives" to "provide closure"
Why? "Game content initiatives" could mean anything from a simple explanation to the current endings, to 20 brand-spanking-new endings to cover the wide expectations of the fans. We don't know what they're planning yet.
Don't jump to conclusions.

I sincerely hope Colin Moriarty gets a stern telling-off for his previous flaming against the Retake movement.
Ya know, because arbitrarily walking down a street while ranting about something that is obviously an OPINION and acting as though his is the only right one automatically makes him right. </sarcasm>

Well, thanks for the answers.
You all make some good points, so for the moment I will hold the line.
But mark my words: potential backlash and money loss didn't stop them from doing things like the Day-One-DLC, Origin requirement, the no ME1 face import and the crappy endings.
Bioware is now facing an entirely different problem, which is major retailers having to offer full refund to customers that were enraged by the ending. Bioware/EA is a manufacturer so they already made money on the project when the retailers bought the game from them, hence why they said that they sold 3.5 million copies. This doesn't mean that they sold 3.5 million copies, it just means that retailers project that Mass Effect 3 will sell 3.5 million copies. When retailers bring in stock, the buyer and planner looks at three important factors: preorders, sales and returns for previous products among others. If Bioware fails to appease the backlash from loyal fans (aka we preorder your games), then their preorder numbers will take a hit. When retailers such as Amazon offer full refund on an essentially digital product that means there are sufficient amount of people requesting to return the product and their sales are also taking a hit. This mess will have an effect on any future game sales that retailers will order from Bioware/EA, since buyers and planners negotiate prices based on the amount of left over stock and preorders. The manufacturer will usually deal with the retail buyers either by lowering their price or they will take back the stock and refund the retailer for the amount.
This mess is screwing with the bottom line for EA. The bottom line effects dividends paid out to stockholders and stock worth, and this ususally leads to the board of directors to yell at the CEO. The CEO will most likely yell at Bioware to fix this mess or risk having their bonuses slashed. That's why in Ray's letter, he concludes it by asking fans to buy the game to judge the product themselves or give the game a fair review based on "gameplay" and not just the ending. Obviously this doesn't mean that they will fix this in the ways that we want, but they will "fix" the ending.
Thank you for this complex answer - but I already know about this. Just can't put it in words like you (meh...should have slept less in english class back then^^')
But the bottom line is the same. They will do something about it, but it will bring no real improvement, since like many others already said - the endings suck, regardeless how they try to explain them.
What we need are alternative endings...they know that right?...right?

Ok so Iv been trying to tell every one this but the theory of indoctrination is quiet true and what you see that then end is most likely a dream stare. Think about it shepred as inside the citidiel and if you chose the destroy option and have 5k army support you get and ending sean were he is breathing.
If this is so how did shepred get back to earth? why is he still alive? if he did fall why is the ruble he is surrounded in concreat and not metal? There's only one way to answer all of those questions:

Thankfully that fits with BioWare's latest statement: Wanting to offer an explanation and possible changes to the ending. Sort of. Now the explanation could be the Indoctrination Theory, the changes would be a finishing DLC.

I have a feeling that they just hadn't played the game until the very end...
And maybe, just maybe, that article on Forbes about how video game reviewers rarely go against the producers and stuff helped them make up their mind...
Everyone changes their minds, so...yay?
