Did anyone who asked for their money back turn up on BSN? I haven't seen any.

Read stanley woo's post.

The fact is a lot of you thought you were buying a new ending for a video game using sick kids as a bargining tool and when you realized you werent, a bunch of you tried to get your money  back. I can't even think of a word strong enough to illustrate how wrong that is.

I object to the tone you're using, some people demanded their moeny back according to child's play, SOME. When I last saw it the number of donaters was around 4100, despite this you come in here implying that the vast majority of us were complicit in this, and everyone I've seen so far on this forum thinks asking a charity for a refund is disgusting. Just because a few people did this does NOT mean anyone here did or that many of those 4100+ people did.

yeah I don't really give a **** if you object to my tone. I object to dying kids being used as currency. yeah we can't prove who did. So what. I really don't believe 90% of those people ever gave to charity before this anyway. Pay Pal said it was a high number asking for refunds.

The bribes so far as I could see, only seem to be puposed for the Multiplay.
I am not amused nor am I going to be pacified by this.

It might be through FB.  A lot of people who just wander in from the depths of the net, see the TakeBackME3 FB and a link to the donation...theres a good chance we got a lot of people donating without having the brain capacity to see what exactly they were doing.

So IGN pulled a 180 or something? Interesting...

Don't really think it was a 180... only one of the second opinions openly denounced the endings. The others either praised the game or picked on other gameplay issues-- like the journal not updating, the fetch side quests ripped straight from DA2, etc.

Not exactly sure what was said in the podcast.

Back on the line, providing support.

Watching the ign-spoilcast recording right now. Did they just pick three guys of this thread and put them in there? Pretty much saying what we've all been saying all along in regards to the ending Image IPB

Yeah I found myself smiling while watching. Bashing us for wanting DLC to fix the ending, and then coming out and agreeing that the ending makes no sense without DLC that proves it a lie (indoc theory).

Reposting because it deserves it - a thread with an excellent summary of what we would like to see in any new ending content.

I think it’s easy for people sometimes to lose sight of the fact that we
do this because we love the medium, we love storytelling and we love to
create a magical experience for players
.

Oooh. I get it now. Spacemagical experience for everyone! :wizard:

My favorite part was this question...

Q: The game is unquestionably bleak. Why is that?

A: Over the course of the series, so much of what Commander Shepard is doing is making choices where some sort of sacrifice is involved. There isn’t an easy path forward. There’s no way to get out of it unscathed. That’s what makes Commander Shepard’s choices interesting. So, by the time we get to the third game, I think we have a character that, we wanted to reflect the fact that a lot of those choices have been made so far.

...

A lot of choices that really don't matter when you get to the end.

I don't imagine for one moment they would make themselves known, taking back from any charity is bad enough, taking back from sick children would get them lynched, metaphorically speaking of course.

Folks,

We need to remember the point and topic of this thread: to help encourage BioWare to fix the ending.  Continued arguments will only get the thread locked.

I can't speak for everyone, but, i've donated without expecting that we could get something from this, and i knew the amout of money i've donated wouldn't really make a difference for the cause.
Now after donating more than i should, i hear them saying something like that?!
It hurts.......really.

Don't blame Bioware for it. They rightly defended the charity, since SOME people were attempting to use the charity for their own personal gain.  End of story.

As for any of you who are reading this that DID ask for your money back, there is a special place in hell with your name on it. How dare you take money from sick children because your selfish attempts didn't result in what you were hoping for.

Personal gain? What does it matter if they donate money for kids? Charity should't care about PR other then people knowing what they are about and what they do.  But we did good job so doesn't matter at this point.

Guys Heads up.. read the last few pages and we have some people hoping in the  thread trying to stir things and up and get it locked..

Just ignore them.... if  they get to out of hand ... quote the post, copy and paste into a report for the mod. Right need can't afford to start lashing out... no matter how tempting it may be... now is the time for restraint..

Remember S/He  who laughs last ,laughs best. ... stay on target.

As for  Child Play's its regretable that they to  stop accepting donations but and it shame that some in the gaming media...  IGN spun that story that way but they have to think about the CHARITY first... not Retake... so please respect their  choice.

Keep It classy

and

Hold the line

Silent supporter here, held the line on internet polls and various discussions outside of class.  Interesting story: during dinner my buddies and I were talking about Bioware's potential actions towards fixing the ending.  We're all (suffering... homework on a Friday?!) student engineers, so we're naturally skeptical about matters concerning life and BW hasn't really given much to placate our misgivings.  However, we were given a small shred of hope in a very interesting way (pretent you have just eaten Chinese food):

For all those who are falling into despair, for anyone who has even considered throwing in the towel... excuse me while I pick your sorry *** up, dust you off and roar in your ear:

"Hold the freaking line!"

Has to be this surely. They couldn't have realised somehow that it was for charity... I dont understand people if they knew it was for charity.

I'm sorry but no the high lighted part's need to be changed to some of you not a lot or a bunch as that is completely wrong.

Most of us knew it was a donation that would lead to nothing happening for us in return if people on here would stop makeing guesses as to what others want or are doing and actual read and understand one another we would avoid a lot of issues.
