I'll give them till May 4 to get a better ending or leak one. That's one month after the Blowup in April.Yep I think they are still out of touch even after last I saw 60,000 hate the ending votes on facebook poll.Maybe Bethesda will make a SciFi RPG one day.
Edit for fingers hit wrong key.

Elder Scrolls/Fallout/Mass Effect... If you could combine the best of those games into one... a new age will be born.

Bethesda just released a DLC that retextures the Entire Game of Skyrim. For. Free!

The notion that games are art that can't be changed because of artistic fiat? Blown out of the water yet again.

Aren't they the same people who released a dlc to change the ending of Fallout 3?

Yep. They were very surprised so many people wanted to continue after the main game, so that's why Broken Steel was made. That did very well. Extended the game tenfold... Well a bit shorter but you get the idea.

And people are making such a huge deal out of Retake ME movement  and Bioware making an ending DLC...<_<

Honestly until I get to read a blog or letter or anything explaining what the ending meant, I'm going to consider any trash talk or negativity against us as white noise/static.  people from here and other news/ gaming places have pinpointed the potholes and other things that didn't add up, and yet not one person on the other side can counter that they do. All we get is "it went over your head" or some nonsense... So explain it to me then. You're an endings extraordinaire so help us incompetent saps get it, so that we too may enter the realm of the smart ones.

Nothing will be lost with additional endings. You are giving more options to solving the equation so to speak, everyone wins. I haut don't get it.

Going around on the forums lately and I wonder, why is everyone so down and depressed? Thinking we have lost somehow?

All I can connect to it is the twitter picture about not making changes to the ending but wasn't the mass effect twitter proven to be contradicting and unreliable?

Read the top of this old pre-launch Q&A, its about ME2 endings compared to ME3s.

http://www.gameinfor...PostPageIndex=2

I'm reading pre-launch Q&As and whatnot. I find it odd that BW staff made these claims about the ending, yet delivered what we got. Its almost like they had endings for us, but then cut them out...

Because they still haven't announced a release date for Animal Crossing 3DS.

hello all just a quick question would anyone be against an alternate happy ending where shepherd lives and is reunited with there crew and LI? as a possible ending. Or is it only me that wants that sort of thing? the polls seam to say otherwise and what do you think the chances of getting anything like that in this DLC or whatever it is are? it's just I feel a bit alone in this idea

anyway thanks for reading.

I think everyone is just tired of the silence. They want to know, and they want to know NOW! Bioware isn't responding and it's making them want to walk away.

Hopefully, they perk back up and stick with this. Help us keep the ball moving.

I knew this was going to be a long fight, hopefully they'll start to see that too.

Hold the line.

Yeah I just popped in after a couple days away and saw a lot of negativity out there. I don't understand. The Mass Effect twitter is full of non-answers. Why is everybody freaking out?
I suppose I'll just keep hiding in this thread where the cool people are. B)

You're not the only one I also want an ending like that for my character.

Oh I would love for that ending to happen xD I am such a romantic when it comes to ME. Tali and Shepard <3

I think my testicals just reverted up into my body with that statement. And am I growing breasts? hmm....

ANYWAY I sincerely doubt that will happen. I think we have the happiest ending possible at this point. Shepard's crew surviving and Shepard having the chance of survival as we see his chest move and hear his sharp breath in the rubble.

the best DLC that I think we will be getting is a few pre-ending levels that help to describe all the crazy stuff that happened near the end.

Alright guys, I'm off to bed.

Despite popular opinion, a person cannot live on caffeine alone. I should know, I have tried.

Continue to hold the line, and don't let anything crazy happen while I'm sleeping.

I guess i can understand but after watching the IGN spoilercast about the endings, I felt that more people would see why we hated the endings in the first place and refocus. I can wait till april as long as news about this issue is constantly being created but as soon as the information starts to stagnate, then... I can't see good things coming from it.

You need to keep in mind, we are the targets for a lot of attacks by game "reviewers" and whatnot. For every 1 decent talk I have with someone who likes the end, I have 10 where I'm flat out abused and insulted. That, on top of the silence and the fact they keep saying "but we havent said we will change the end" and that they plan to "clarify" but not fix the end...Pretty much means that those who dont like the ending are feeling a lot of pressure at the moment.

Although, that wont stop us from ....*puts on sunnies*.... Holding the line.

Edited to reduce the pyramid...

Acidrain92 wrote...
When I say refined, I mean that cinematically it was very well done. It was all pre-rendered CGI at the end. The music was top notch, the voice acting was great. etc etc etc.

If they created a new ending from scratch it would be crap. It would feel forced and it wouldnt feel like the REAL ending because it wouldnt fit with what was there previously. It would be there just to appease fans and it would feel just out of place. Im not saying the current ending didnt have problems story wise, im just talking about production value. Its like saying "I didnt like the giant pre rendered CGI space battle before the Earth sequence that probably took a long time to make. Change it."

Bioware isnt going to do anything with the ending that they already hadnt planned on doing, I assure you. All I expect is DLC that adds a bit of closure as to why Joker took that Mass Relay, why the Relays exploding didnt destroy everything, etc etc. Hell, we might even get to play as different characters like Joker in ME2. Hell, we get to play as aliens in the multiplayer, we might be able to play as different races in upcoming DLC, but who knows.

Bioware was probably planning ever since the first script leak to hold things back just so they could release it later as DLC.

OK, I understand your point and agree with you about the music, the
quality of some of the CGI, and the voice acting. Those things are top-notch throughout the game. But quality, IMO, has to do with a lot more than just those things, IMO. I thought the editing, continuity, and gameplay mechanics were abyssmal in the ending.

Saying that a changed ending would have to be "super crappy" is quite an assumption, don't you think? Aside from the fact that we don't know how much existing finished or partly finished content was left on the figurative cutting room floor, it's a logical fallacy -- a "false dilemma" argument -- to say
  • a changed ending would have to be rushed
  • a rushed ending would have to be crappy
  • BioWare does not release crappy work
  • therefore, BioWare will not change the ending
Not trying to argue; just saying this is why I disagree or am possibly misunderstanding your statements. I respect your opinion and you may be absolutely right. At this point, we're all just trying to squint into the dark and figure out what might be out there, and I'm as prone to wishful thinking as anyone who really wants something to change.

I can understand the situation then. Personally, I have not noticed much negative attention to us that has any valid arguments.

With that I am off to bed as well.

Good Night. Hold the line. Stand together.

So I get on here tonight & all over the forums are people giving up over a twiiter post.
I have questions: is that post still there? Has anybody from Bioware said something?
But most importantly I wonder: Have we lost?

Real quick, no one said it was valid. But that doesn't mean everyone can just brush it off, especially when they're getting random people(whom have no real idea of the concept outside of those and other sites that are bashing us) that are literally just tossing the phrase, "Entitled teenage gamers who live in your parents basement". It wears on a person, and can infuriate them, both of which aren't good for us.

It has already been deleted by @masseffect. It is just the same old stuff that has been floating around since they said there would be more clarification coming to the ending. Nothing official, but not too inspiring. Still holding the line though...
