Same old, same old. Ending isn't necessarily being changed. More information coming in April. Yadda yadda yadda.
Nothing to be concerned about. Keep up the civil, constructive pressure. :wizard:

OK, I understand your point and agree with you about the music, the
quality of some of the CGI, and the voice acting. Those things are top-notch throughout the game. But quality, IMO, has to do with a lot more than just those things, IMO. I thought the editing, continuity, and gameplay mechanics were abyssmal in the ending.

Saying that a changed ending would have to be "super crappy" is quite an assumption, don't you think? Aside from the fact that we don't know how much existing finished or partly finished content was left on the figurative cutting room floor, it's a logical fallacy -- a "false dilemma" argument -- to say

  • a changed ending would have to be rushed
  • a rushed ending would have to be crappy
  • BioWare does not release crappy work
  • therefore, BioWare will not change the ending
Not trying to argue; just saying this is why I disagree or am possibly misunderstanding your statements. I respect your opinion and you may be absolutely right. At this point, we're all just trying to squint into the dark and figure out what might be out there, and I'm as prone to wishful thinking as anyone who really wants something to change.

Yeah I guess I am assuming a bit. I dont mean to sound hostile btw. Being on these forums will do that to you.

But you know there isnt a lot of time before Bioware issues their official statement on the matter, so I guess we will see when the time comes what they decide to do. I just think that its hard to come out with any DLC that would really have a huge impact on the story, and actually SELL IT and make people really FEEL its impact. I think Bioware would be more likely to come out with some sort of expansion pack rather than a few DLC changes or missions.

In secret and great expense, I have developed a plan.  READ ON:

Project code name: "What the **** is that racket?!?!?!"

THE PLAN IS SIMPLE:
First, meet up at the local McDonalds to purchase and consume McGriddles. Here we will synchronize our watches. We will proceed to assemble at Casey Hudson's house tomorrow morning at precisely 3:00AM.  Upon arrival, we will position ourselves on Casey's front lawn.  At this stage, I will hand out exactly 314 Vuvuzelas (number 314 found through complex mathematics to induce "Space Magic") . Experienced members of coalition expected to use more than one Vuvuzela at same time.

Then, I will count down:

READY?
3
2
1
BLOOOOOOOOW.

If all proceeds according to my design, a sleeping Casey Hudson will crap himself immedately from being so strongly startled awake.  He will then experience, through Space Magic, the epiphany that the endings are no better than what he just created in his PJs, and will immediately instruct developers to make a better ending.

Plan is set in motion at precisely 1600 hours.  Bring only that which you deem necessary to the success of this mission.

You need to keep in mind, we are the targets for a lot of attacks by game "reviewers" and whatnot. For every 1 decent talk I have with someone who likes the end, I have 10 where I'm flat out abused and insulted. That, on top of the silence and the fact they keep saying "but we havent said we will change the end" and that they plan to "clarify" but not fix the end...Pretty much means that those who dont like the ending are feeling a lot of pressure at the moment.

Although, that wont stop us from ....*puts on sunnies*.... Holding the line.

I can understand the situation then. Personally, I have not noticed much negative attention to us that has any valid arguments.

And yet, I still haven't heard a single good argument for why someone liked the ending, which is something that I would be interested in hearing. It just seems that everyone is ganging up against us for "attempting to damage BioWare's artistic integrity." People seemed to have jumped the entitlement train to go to the artistic integrity train, maybe next week, everyone will have thought of an even cleverer name to call us. I don't think there's been a single person who has posted that they liked the ending in this thread that has been treated with anything less than respect. Maybe if they could be bothered to come have a civil conversation with us, everyone might just become a little more enlightened.

Edit: Also why does everyone who liked the ending take it so personally that we would like alternate endings?

I haven't been around much in the last day or so. I've been doing other things to keep myself from burning out, but I have not given up on this and I'm still proudly holding the line. I'm sure I can say the same for many others who have "gone dark."

If the new ending DLC actually alters or adds to the ending, not just clarifies it, then yep I agree. I'll buy the Omega DLC,  and replay this game like it's nobodys business. With a whole new frame of mind.

Same here,I was fully planning to buy all the single player DLC that they put out (I was one of the people who bought the apearance packs in ME2), until I saw the god awful ending.

If they release ending DLC that really fixes this, I fully plan to buy every other single player DLC they release...

...I'll still probably be more careful in the future when buying their games though, no more preorders for me <_<

Colin moriarty is currently bending over to try and shove his head up his ass even further believing himself to be the best thing since sliced bread.

All of the people who call him out on his BS on the IGN boards (Pointing out how much he praised Broken steel and praised the developers of Infamous two for changing their protagonist) get their posts deleted fairly quickly.

So yea, he won't answer

hello all just a quick question would anyone be against an alternate happy ending where shepherd lives and is reunited with there crew and LI? as a possible ending. Or is it only me that wants that sort of thing? the polls seam to say otherwise and what do you think the chances of getting anything like that in this DLC or whatever it is are? it's just I feel a bit alone in this idea

anyway thanks for reading.

Oh I would love for that ending to happen xD I am such a romantic when it comes to ME. Tali and Shepard <3

I think my testicals just reverted up into my body with that statement. And am I growing breasts? hmm....

ANYWAY I sincerely doubt that will happen. I think we have the happiest ending possible at this point. Shepard's crew surviving and Shepard having the chance of survival as we see his chest move and hear his sharp breath in the rubble.

the best DLC that I think we will be getting is a few pre-ending levels that help to describe all the crazy stuff that happened near the end.

thanks for the reply. if the DLC dose not even open that up for head cannon then I think I'm kinda done with BW dont get me wrong I have nothing agains shep dieing but it just hurt a bit to see my shepherd who I have play for three games and have tweeked for hundreds of hours just throw herself on her sword without even being given a choice cos thats what the writers wanted.

it's a real shame they put so much effort into the little fan nods like Liaras father or Gurres and joker telling joke and all the other grate stuff and they didn't think "Baybe some of the players want a happy ending.  for a game with such scope i se no reason why something like that can de put into the game.

Good luck to them trying to clarify and add closure to that horrible ending.

"And everyone was stuck in the Sol system and they all died. The end. Happy now?"

EDIT: I would also like to add how funny I find it that the person who's so relieved that the end isn't changing hasn't even finished the game yet.

Going around on the forums lately and I wonder, why is everyone so down and depressed? Thinking we have lost somehow?

All I can connect to it is the twitter picture about not making changes to the ending but wasn't the mass effect twitter proven to be contradicting and unreliable?

Yeah I just popped in after a couple days away and saw a lot of negativity out there. I don't understand. The Mass Effect twitter is full of non-answers. Why is everybody freaking out?
I suppose I'll just keep hiding in this thread where the cool people are. B)

http://imgur.com/eMYVd  (a deleted Twitter post)
http://twitter.com/#...233534146781186   (made today and still there, I checked.)

THAT is why everyone's so depressed. I think we're all trying to cling to hope and that the Twitter isn't that reliable, BUT the fact remains that everything they've said so far reinforces what those Twits say. Reread Muzyka's blog to us. Read the Twits, the devs, and that deleted Facebook post. Nowhere has any Bioware rep said ANYTHING about fixing or changing the endings. What they do keep saying is that they're going "to clarify and add closure". I really, really hope I'm wrong, but to me that says that all we're going to get is a wordier version of the current ending.

*Deep breath* Ok, I'm done wallowing. Ready to rejoin holding the line.

I just got my 1050/1050 gamescore last night for Mass Effect 3. I had to force myself to play through the game on insanity just to get the 100% complete (this isn't a compliment, I do this with many games, some of which I hate).

I took the disk out, put it in my N7 case, then threw the game into what I like to call, "The Crate". The crate is, for all intents and purposes, hell for my game collection. I don't sell ANY of my games no matter how much I may dislike it -I'd keep a copy of ET if I found one-; so now, it will just sit an gather dust alongside all of the horrible games I've acquired over my many years of gaming. My vintage SNES collection will get more attention than ME3.

There was a chance that it could escape from The Crate. All Bioware had to do was fix the freaking ending. I know we aren't supposed to take what their twitter feed says as 100% truth, but they've been humming a pretty consistent tune that is in sync with what we've been told through other sources.

Mass Effect 3 will forever remain within The Crate, but I will let you know this: never again will another game with 'Bioware' written on its cover ever find its way into The Crate. The reason for this is simple; I will never buy another Bioware game again, so I won't have one to put into The Crate.

I've been a fan since KOTOR. I still have my original copy. However, I feel like Bioware has stabbed me in the back. I won't let them do it again: no second chances.

If they give us a good ending to go with the bad and ugly endings as well as fix the single player so you no longer need to do multiplayer to get said endings,AND make it so ME3 does not kill playing the whole series,I will buy ALL the DLC.Untill then I will hold the gorramn line!My money is in my pocket.
