normally sales drop 40-50% in week 2 but a drop of over 80% nearly across the whole board is bad, also check out the local shops and tell me how many pre-owned are on the dhelves now, 4 gaming shops i know have now stopped taking ME3 for trade-in, not good having a hundred+ in one shop nor is it having a WHOLE rack filled in another (the rack holds max 300 games) get the picture.
seems ME3 is going to die a long prolonged painful death by the look of it.
this is what happens when an ENTIRE script gets fubared by just 2 ppl who wanted it to end in THERE vision and NOT in the ACTUAL vison intended
The sales figures didnt impress me as much as this did. When stores actually stop taking it back for trade in, especially so early, thats bad.
lol wow.

I want to believe in the Indoc theory. Heck, going over things during the game (the dreams and such) give me hope. And if it is true, I still don't know what I'm going to make of it. Depends on what Bioware does, I think.
However, even if it is true and the polarizing ending IS the Indoc theory... Bioware hasn't handled the situation all that well. They wanted the ending to be discussed, but I doubt the expected the backlash they did. Years down the road, people will be talking about the ending, but not in the way they hoped. The discussions won't be about the story, but instead about the movement... Or if the Indoc ending is true and they're going to release the real ending via paid DLC, people will be talking about that dangerous move instead. If true, they took a major chance and it backfired.
They told us to wait till PAX though...the amount of bad press they could get from that...its staggering...they would have to have an ace up their sleeves and KNOW they had one that could trump us. I mean, they told us to keep our saves and that more was coming...seems an odd cioncidence.

if this is true (i have no idea what the sale drop looks like normally) i do really hope that bioware is starting to feel it. it seems like they don't actually seem to care much about everything else that's going on.
maybe it will get us more than statements that pretty much read like 'we're disappointed in you' and/or 'aww, look, a minority. let me pat you on the head before i shoo you off so that the adults can talk'.
and yes, sorry. migraine isn't helping with trying to form proper english sentences.
They may want to ingore it but EA won't... see EA like and big publisher wants to see a return on the investment they put in Mass Effect 3 and Bioware. This is to them is not a return..so they will wait to the first quarter numbers come in. Seeing if the meet or exceeded expectation... from the looks of it that meetings is not going to be a good time for Ray and Co over at Bioware. This is another reason why they are waiting till April.. March is ending of the 1st business quarter of the year.. so quarterly numbers are going too come out.

That's what they get for lying to us.
Looks like the "Loud Minority" just became the "Loud Majority".
Now unless they want it to get even worse(Which believe me, it can), they better announce an ending expansion or a complete ending DLC, because this "clarity" crap is definitely not going to cut it.
Every moment they waste defending this crappy ending, more people are returning their copies and taking even more profit from BioWare/EA.

they were just the 4 gaming shops in my area so i dont know about the chain as a whole but one of them had a letter from the head office stuck to the window explaning why they are now no longer taking ME3 as trade-in.
when a head office does that it means they are now hugly overstocked in one game, which means it could be in effect a 1 week to 4 weeks before they will re-take them, that and the GAME / GameStation chain in the uk have now filed for administration (in short they went bust)

So far all we know is that could have been an employee but there is no proof that is the case. It would be upsetting if it is but until we get hard evidence than we should try to stick to more factual claims.
Now about those dropping numbers, that is factual and that must be something that is upsetting, especially if they want the 3rd game to have a long reaching multiplayer impact.
It isn't surprising at all that the ending being as unaccepted as it was would make people play the other parts of the game or the several run throughs that people were anticipating.
BTW, incase you wanted the link, here is one of them referring to what chmarr is referencing. (there are several links but this is the first one google gave me)

Working on my next update for my blog -- looking for input from all/any of you.
I believe the gaming sites talking about how our efforts are winding down, or that we've somehow won should be my primary focus.
If there is any news on this: http://www.razoo.com...ry/Full-Paragon Happy to push it!!! But I do want it verified as part of the Retake Movement beforehand.
Any other issues you feel I should be looking closer at? Let me know!!!
Thanks,

I was hoping a new charitable cause would get supported by this wonderful group of people - I had a fleeting idea about crayola or something - but I was afraid the humor would be lost in this volatile situation!
Kudos!

I don't know if this has been posted in this thread before and I apologize if it has, but I'm pretty sure I can be excused for not reading through 2300 pages of posts (holy crap 2300?! Damn). Shamus Young posted a deconstruction of the ending on his blog. It says many points others have brought up in a very good manner, explaining why the ending is so bad and why it ruins many parts of the entire franchise:
Check it Out here.
-------------
"Imagine that the first race, facing the Reaper threat and having no idea how to defeat them, sit down and design a trigger guard. And that’s it. Then they bury the plans for the trigger guard and they die. 50,000 years later, the next race is getting pulverized. Before they die, they find the plans for the trigger guard. They have no idea what it’s for or what it does, but they design a handle to go with it, add it to the plans, and re-bury them.
"And so it goes. 50,000 years. A safety mechanism. A rifled barrel. A magazine. A rear sight. The trigger. A front sight. A muzzle. An ejection port. Nobody knows what any of this does.
"Then Shepard & Co comes along. They follow the plans, which builds a Glock 17 pistol. Admiral Hackett points to the chamber. Something goes in there, but we don’t know what it is or what it does.
"Then you meet the Star Child, who just happens to be a 9mm bullet, which miraculously is a perfect fit for this pistol, even though the people who built it have no idea what a bullet is or what it does.
"Then the Star Child explains that the next step is to put the bullet in the chamber, aim the weapon at your foot, and pull the trigger. That’s how you 'win'."

what you ALL dont reliase is that publishers DO NOT get the money for pre-owned games that are sold, that goes directly to the chain that is selling it.
No, I think most do realize it, actually. That's part of the reason why the drop in sales is so shocking.

That is something bioware notices for sure. Much more sure than all our cries.
Gaming industry requires to act fast and vast if they even want to have hope to fix the problem.
It's not like "we will wait till april, take your time bioware". It's more like "think and work fast bioware, our patience and hope are not infinite".
