Would definitely make any "Shepard sacrifices himself" ending look better and more heroic if there was at least one ending where Shepard and his crew survive fairly well but much of the universe is more or less f***ed up. Give people a reason to go in a blaze of glory, ya know?

Couldn't they have at least a few different endings and described the aftermath?

I actually find it really funny how in other forums people are either upset, surprised or making fun of those of us that are depressed about these endings here.

At least the major consensus seems to be this wasn't BioWare smartest move, whatever your preference in the endings might be.

At this point, I have hight doubt that it could cause more arm to the game anyway. I have managed to get my hands on all the cgi of the game, and I can confirm all of the endings. Now keep in mind, I have no context of what's really going on, and for some reason I don't have any audio but all the colors are real, they can happen in a bad or a good way and there is what looks like the scene with the kid telling the legend on a pretty desserted snowy planet.

You can laugh all you want at fellow players with different tastes than you. I doubt EA will find it very amusing when they realize BW just took a machete to their customer base. ME was the game that sought to please the widest range of people in the most different ways. It's why I loved it. Now ME is contracting back to the typical single-target-audience bologna I can get anywhere. There's no reason for me to choose ME over any other game now. They have reverted back to the same insufferable writing pattern of forcing unwelcome story points on half of their audience who, if given a choice, would want something else.

I really don't understand why there is not more than (essentially) one ending.

How would a 5 hour game that costs 200 million to make appeal to a large audience?
They are up to 1000 variables... Do you not understand exponential growth? The tree needed to be trimmed. Did you want this to be the last ME ever? Are you imagining how it moves forward?

This is an opportunity to reimagine mass effect. I can be a bit blunt, rough around the edges, and a bit antagonistic.. but I'm just being a realist.. to continue the universe their needs to be a common point every so often.

But they would need to have access to food even in a fleet battle so it's not beyond belief.
