We can't let it end like this!

That part isn't ours to decide. All we can do is cease commercial support and apply social pressure on Bio.

If they respond positively, then we need to show our support. If they don't, we need to stay true and refuse to purchase Bio/EA products and regularly remind them of why, in spite of interest.

If the Indoctrination theory is accurate, we need to make it very clear, in retrospect, how we feel about applying  force to get us to ponder what happened before experiencing in the real ending. Likewise if it is a pay-for-play DLC. I know that, if so- regardless of how good the real ending is- I will make it known that I do not enjoy being part of a social experiment.

Hello. Is this Jeff Bridges? Great! Sir, I have a question of utmost importance. I need to know how you were able to get inside that computer world in that Tron movie. No, I'm not insane, Mr. Bridges. I just beat Mass Effect 3 and I need to get in there and take care of this myself. What's that? I'm the 38th person who's called you today about this very thing? And what did you tell the previous 37 people? The cops, eh? I see. Thank you for your time, sir!
(Hangs up ... dials again)
Hello! Samuel L. Jackson? Sir, I have a proposition. I was wondering if you would be willing to go inside a video game and shut this Starchild ... Hello? Hello?

I think you need to call up Keanu Reeves. If you need someone to do some butt whoop'n in a virtual reality he is the "one" to call.

KLGChaos: hilarious! I think the elcor cast helps.

Vonverrikan: thanks. And yes, I just can't believe what was pretty much the only hopeful for the future sci-fi I've seen turned into the mess

And to all of you, thanks.

I tried replaying ME 3 but didn't get much past Mars bc I just don't care about it anymore. They also retroactively ruined the rest of the games.

I'm still in shock that they can act like this game offers any hope, or think we are goigng to be idly chattering about what state everyone was left in.

And as I said earlier, I think the synthesis choice is an insult to all thinking organics everywhere. And the fact that it is presented as the biggest reward - turning all beings into one homogenous group to obtain peace, is just not the lesson I thought we were all learning here.

I also wish I hadn't blown up the citadel and the reapers had won, waiting gleefully for the day when the reapers turn on their creator. I'm looking at you, Reaper Child...

Ok, that might be a childish thing to say, but...

I think the comment in it from the independent dev who said he encouraged this sort of thing.. because enraging your customers gives him more business since he's fine changing his product to meet the wants and desires of his customers pretty much nailed my thoughts on it.  I honestly see Bioware's response as far better customer service than this guy who changed it was.. Don't sell your game if you want it to be non-commissioned art.  If you want it to be a product to sell to your customers, then you need to stop acting like a spoiled artist, and more like a proper businessman.  Using your customers as experiments is usually not the best business choice lol.

I like that guy. He should take Hudson's spot in Bioware. Then we may get a decent ending.

Hate the article though.

Hold the line.

I finished the game on the 9th, created an account on here at about three that morning, waited my 24 hours. I have been on and posting ever since.

PS this is the first time I have ever even been on an internet forum.

A few years ago I was part of an online RPG community, a 3D world, not going to say which because it's not relevant, I went in with the attitude "It's not real just a game"; but even today I still miss that world, the point I'm trying to make here, is when people invest so much time into something, it leaves a hole when it ends or fails to deliver a satisfying conclusion.

It's easy to forget a short story, but when a story has run for years and you've invested 100s of hours into it, it becomes real to you, I don't mean you accept thermal clips or giant genocidal machines as real, but you accept the world as real, it becomes your other life, a world where you can escape temporarily, and in most cases be emotionally invested, this is what the ME universe did for a lot of us, while I don't feel any anger toward Bioware, I do feel disappointment they did not take this kind of investment into account when writing the ending, it felt more like "this is what we are giving you, deal with it"

The one upside to this whole debacle. Bioware is getting people involved with their gaming community. I'm sure it's not what they had in mind, but...

I was told by a number of friends that they went down hill after the first, so that was the only one I watched. That means in my eyes he's still crazy dirty.

Say, do you think Star Wars really needs Yoda at the moment, 'cause I could sure use his help with something...something kinda see-through....and illogical. I'm pretty sure it's the dark side incarnate.

Amazingly put and exactly how many of us do feel. I was watching a few of the YouTube videos that Bioware did with some of the voice actors the night of the launch, and they even talked about how the fanbase is so passionate about the game and the world that Bioware has created... how it surprised them, but they loved that people could be so connected. And yet, we are given that type of end to the whole experience and world of Mass Effect. I would have never believed that Bioware would have ended Shepard's journey that way. Not only destroyed his/her story, but the whole universe they lovingly created.

I keep saying that chap is a demon. He's playing off of your emotions to trick you.

Unless, of course, you're seeing-through my window right now. In which case, I apologise- allow me to put some pants on.

XHezz90- thank you too, by the way. All of you, again.

I think video games are a way to bring enlightening entertainment to our lives. TV is often just too dumbed down. Movies are not that engaging, for me. And videongames offer different ways to think about the world around you. I can deal with depression and sadness. But I was unprepared for it at that level in Mass Effect. I thought Shepard might die. Or see his/her love interest die. But for the whole galaxy to get screwed over and Shepard just giving up was worse than the worst ending I could have imagined. And this after a beat the odds theme over and over - a no win situation. And then to have it proclaimed artistic integrity? And I feel like they are basically claiming it's this way because it's an intelligent, thoughtful ending.

I may be emotional but I'm not stupid. However I feel like that's what Bioware is saying with their "artistic integrity" line. An intelligent, thoughtful ending wouldn't seem so rushed, out of nowhere, with a concept introduced that never occurred in 120 hours of game time. And then to have synthesis almost pushed at me like it's some really "cool" choice? It's the worst thing you could ever do. And destruction (my choice) still leaves *everything* destroyed.
