There is a Quarian fleet. Depending on what state earth is red/green/blue

A big vulnerable live ship that can grow food is near Earth during the final battle? OK, that's... somewhat plausible... M.

Not to mention it'd have to feed the Turians too.

Would they bring their own? It's logistics, you need to feed the troops where ever they are ask Napolean how it went when his ran out of food in Russia.

Casey anthony interview

"we really wanted to give a satisfying ending"

No, no my friend. Casey Anthony killed one little girl (allegedly). Casey Hudson killed the dreams of thousands of little girls.

LMAO.. There needs to be a thumbs up.

lol tell me where the bad man touched you rainbow bright.

You can laugh all you want at fellow players with different tastes than you. I doubt EA will find it very amusing when they realize BW just took a machete to their customer base. ME was the game that sought to please the widest range of people in the most different ways. It's why I loved it. Now ME is contracting back to the typical single-target-audience bologna I can get anywhere. There's no reason for me to choose ME over any other game now. They have reverted back to the same insufferable writing pattern of forcing unwelcome story points on half of their audience who, if given a choice, would want something else.

I really don't understand why there is not more than (essentially) one ending.

How would a 5 hour game that costs 200 million to make appeal to a large audience?
They are up to 1000 variables... Do you not understand exponential growth? The tree needed to be trimmed. Did you want this to be the last ME ever? Are you imagining how it moves forward?

It's the number of variables... we know one variable.. "Big Ben"

This is an opportunity to reimagine mass effect. I can be a bit blunt, rough around the edges, and a bit antagonistic.. but I'm just being a realist.. to continue the universe their needs to be a common point every so often.

What do you imagine?

I imagine the dark ending could be canon and the light(er) ending could be optional content that does not carry forward. They've gone to great lengths to give ME3 a very broad appeal. To suddenly back down from that with a singular ending does not seem like the game I thought I was looking forward to. So I'd like an ending that was more respectful of Shep's strong ties to his LI and crew -- one where they stay together (preferably alive). That is all.

Do you think they rushed the end and came up with those ideas? or do you think they had it in mind since the beggining? if they are true. It just seems rushed that practically all ends are basically the same.

Hmm rushed? More like Copy and Pasted.

Here,
"When JC locates him, Page reveals that he seeks to merge with Helios and gain full control over all nanotechnology. JC is contacted by Tong, Everett, and the Helios AI simultaneously. All three factions ask for his help in defeating Page, while furthering their own objectives, and JC is forced to choose between them. Tong seeks to plunge the world into a second Dark Age by destroying the global communications hub and preventing anyone from taking control of the world.[34] Everett offers Denton the chance to bring the Illuminati back to power by killing Bob Page and using the technology of Area 51 to rule the world with an invisible hand.[35] Helios wishes to merge with Denton and rule the world as a benevolent dictator with infinite knowledge and reason.[36] The player's decision determines the course of the future, and brings the game to a close." - Deus Ex

Change JC to Shepard and you've pretty much got the 3 endings of Mass Effect 3.

I'm relaying this from the Tali thread.

But they would need to have access to food even in a fleet battle so it's not beyond belief.

I know. I'm not lashing at you, just point out some holes... Poor Tali. And Turinas too.
Yes, feed them, you take a month supply of food an go to battle (at least I would do so). Unless the Quarians also read the spoilers on this forum Image IPB. M.

We need to start getting this on more sites. It's taken hold on the Escapist, GameFAQ, and probably Neogaf, but it needs more widespread attention.

I've been following the threads on Escapist, decent stuff. I kind of killed the "what ending(s) would you have preferred?" thread yesterday with how I would have liked to have seen ME3 and the trilogy end.

My idea was right after the PoNR, Ashley/Kaiden or the LI confronts Shepard during the what was to be expected pre-finale nookie scene. The big reveal is that starting with the Lazarus Project and developing over the course of ME2 thanks to surreptitious and repeated exposure to Reaper tech, Shepard had become Indoctrinated and was a sleeper agent, who had been activated during the Reaper invasion and had been subconsciously sabotaging the war effort the whole time. The game's finale pulls an eleventh hour U-turn from space opera to psychological horror with the final battle as a backdrop and framing device, with outcomes as such:

(Paragon/perfect playthrough) Shepard trusts the person who confronted them and removes him/herself from command. Squadmates and friends help him to break out of the Indoctrination, and Shepard uses the knowledge he has to use the Reapers' own tactics against them in the final battle. Victory against the reapers is assured, but GAW and GR along with choices made throughout the trilogy determines how heavy the cost of victory is, who lives and who dies.

(Neutral/okay playthrough) Shepard removes himself from command, but doesn't have enough surviving and loyal friends and squadmates at his side to break through the Indoctrination, and is either put down or is captured and detained. Or, Shepard refuses to listen, tries to escape and is killed in the attempt. GAW, GR, and previous decisions determine whether the organics defeat the Reapers, and how heavy that cost is (but it will be much more difficult and more costly without Shepard's assistance).

(Renegade/Bad playthrough) Shepard refuses to listen, and Ashley/Kaiden/LI are forced to attack. The Indoctrination takes over, and Shepard kills them, sets Normandy to self-destruct and escapes on a shuttle. Shepard escapes to the Council fleet and orders it to open fire on itself, with the claim it has been infiltrated by Indoctrinated agents. Here, GAW and GR determine how much of a fight the organics put up, but the loss to the Reapers is ensured thanks to Shepard leaving the fleet in complete disarray. A high GAW and GR means the Council fleet rallies and fights back but is destroyed and Shepard is killed in the process, and the humans are exterminated; a lowGAW and GR means the Council fleet is annihilated, and humanity is made into a Reaper with Shepard its dominant personality, and the vanguard of the next cycle as a reward.

Indoctrinated Shepard = just another cheap Lovecraftian turn.  No thank you.  Not interested.

Who knows?

Sometimes I wonder if BioWare took notes from End of Evangelion, which if I recall correctly was made because it was a "**** you" to the fans?

"Hey, they know the endings already, think we should check the script again and give them a happier ending?"

"Nah."

Probably because they are laughing at it.  People say they aren't commenting because it's all true.  I say it's because we don't have all the context (in game dialogue and scenes).  They are definitely reading it, however.  I imagine the change in policy came from people *physically threatening* the Walter and Casey.

I don'r read up on every last thing about this game, because I, like a normal person, wait's until the game is out, and have played it, before I litter the forums with BS.. and no matter what you say about me, to me, or about my grammar, I don't care much more, that I report you, and see you banned form the foums :) have a good day.

If you "wait until the game is out" and "don't read up" like a "normal person" then why are you on a thread on the BSN, in the spoiler section, that specifically discusses the endings of the game?

because I have a friend, who told me about all the people here, who cry and **** about a game that isn't out yet, so I came to point out how retarded that was. nothing more, nothing less. but now, I don't care anymore.. Retard will be retards. nothing I or anyone else can do. have a good one :)

^^^^ So, true story, this one time, a guy went onto a forum for a video game, and wrote a post that people who post on forums for video games are pathetic...

I'm sure they have stocks, but I'd assume most supplies for a fleet that size
would come from the relays. Quarians have no choice but to grow their
own seeing as they lack a homeworld and colonies.

I think that they probably won't comment until the game is released and either:

A: The endings are better in context, or there is something we don't know, and the complaints die down a bit.

B: The endings are the same/worse in context and more people complain than ever.

Agreed. You'd think we'd at east get a reassuring "Just wait and see."
Not cancelling preorder though. The gameplay will be great.

I doubt they are laughing. According to interviews, they knew some people would be angry. But I suspect they believe its because they are such great writers and made the story so emotionally engaging. And that's note entirely wrong, of course. However, its more than that, as so many people have explained.

They probably don't quite get the disappointment here yet.

I have watched most of the ending videos, and the ending with color explosion isn't 100% correct.

On END3, there are 3 versions with blue, red and green explosions (Mass Relay).
In every Version you see that the Citadel (I presume) let's out a red or green beam, which destroys the Mass Relay.
However on the blue Version the Citadel closes its arms on both videos (good and bad), the outro shows a blue explosion which destroys the Mass Relay and the Normandy get's caught in it->heavily damaged->stranded, so the same as the other two version.

But, like I said, there are 2 videos which are the same (good and bad), which is high likely that the good version doesn't destroy the Mass Relay, so the Normandy is save (and Shepard).

The ending where the normandy get's stranded (haven't seen it in the video) from the explosion are in the same ending where you can see that shepards alive.

are you saying that there's more than 7 endings?

Frankly I think it's part company policy, because the same thing happened with DA2, and part because nothing they say at this point will qwell the flames.
