I can't get the red ring... mines the Kinect ready Xbox, and its like they've fixed the issue of red rings, cause I can leave mine on for days at a time and nothing happens to it... ;)

Maybe it's a glitch? you seem to be the only person who didn't play MP and managed to get the half-breath scene.

Possibly, however when I tried my 2nd play through I was getting the same EMS. In fact, I found it easier the 2nd time through. Perhaps I found some stupid extra side missions? I honestly have no idea. Just kept doing the missions I had and *ding* he was breathing. First thought ever about the ending for me was "How'd he get onto the ground if he got blown up in space?".

Edit- Just realised how dense I was when I finished. I didnt first think about the plot holes andcrap ending, but rather why Shepard was on the ground breathing.

Checking in to let the powers that be know that I have not gone away (also getting my ears talked off by loud relatives ... zzz -_-).

Not only have I never before sworn as much as I have since trying Insanity for the first time, but it's also hollow knowing there will be no catharsis or pay-off for this effort.

This Shepard likes Kelly, which makes the fate of the Citadel, affirmed by Walters himself, even more horrid. Abruptly and unexplainedly moving to the Sol Relay? (This achieves ... what?) Teeming with dead bodies? Exploding to ensure a whole 0 survivors? Sure makes building up friendships and that Defense Force a fulfilling experience!

I've got to say, this really bothered me as well. It really left a bad taste in my mouth. We spent all this time on the Citadel, since the start of the game, really, getting to know people, their struggles, their hopes, their fears, only to have them all either end up as Husk chow or blown up in the end. That. Stinks.

I don't think any explination other than "They evacuated before the transport" or something will polish that turd.

What Mr Connery said. We cant allways stay on course, we still have 2 weeks to go before PAX, if we would keep burning all our energy into this, we will be burned out before we even get to our goals. And tbh, most that we wanted to say, has allready been said. After a while you run out of things to say and just have to wait on BW's reply to all this.

I didn't mean that we should talk solely about how the endings suck, how Bioware could fix it, etc. I was just asking that we weren't so... transparent in our off-topic..ness.

Could you maybe take a vid of all your completed quests and the final EMS? I've gone through 3 playthroughs trying to prove Tami wrong (friendly challenge), but I keep  doing every quest I can find and just get 3800 EMS and no "Shep Breathes" ending.

Hmm that's odd, just another odd thing to add to the ever growing pile I guess <_<
Also I didn't think about all the plot holes and stuff till about an hour later, I was just in such a mess I went for a nap to avoid my parents lol

Actually, that brings about a point. Why on earth have EMS scores for increasing the defense of the Citadel when everything just vanishes from the Citadel? Whats the point to any of it?

I did every fetch quest and got about 3,500 EMS. I did multiplayer to get it up to 5,000 and still didn't see a breath.

Hm, to be fair I think the EMS scores reflected more on the state of the Galactic armada, and specifically the state of readiness of the Crucible. Since if you have the lowest EMS score the Crucible destroys the Earth when activated.

It still doesn't mitigate the absolute cruelty of horribly killing every single soul on the Citadel after forcing the player to get to know them over the course of some 40 odd hours.

Maybe they all jumped ship... err, station, when the Reapers got there? Or some atleast. In truth we really don't know much about what's going on on the Citadel even when we get beamed onboard. Perhaps there are some still fighting in the end, at least until Shep blows it up (except in the control choice of course). Yet again, that's the biggest problem at the end, we don't know because SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE!

Perhaps the play style or somesuch? (RPG, Action, story mode and the such). I'm running out of ideas. I actually thought a lot more people managed to get that ending =/ didnt realise it was that uncommon.

What mode did you play in? I played in the traditional Mass Effect mode (seriously why would anyone play anything else? )

I got it my first time too. Played on Role-playing, had 3625 EMS and saved Anderson, but I had to play MP to raise the EMS score a tad. If you didn't play MP, maybe you could load up that Shep and take a vid of all the completed quests (you may have found some we missed) as well as of your EMS while telling us how you handled the endgame? Then we could test it out and put this whole thing to rest.

It might have something to do with the choices you made in ME1 and ME2. I think some of them earn you EMS points in ME3.

Not enough though. I've played all of them, did every single quest, scanned every sing planet...

I created an ending generator that has 16 different outcomes.  It's fairly basic, and deals more with the social and political ramifications of Shepard's choice, but hopefully it'll entertain and pique your interest for a little while.

Here is the relevant thread.

Good question. ._. They just kinda started with the second game...in a series where (supposedly) choices from all prior games have an impact...yet they didn't make the first game for the PS3... The fudge, Bioware?

I played RPG mode on normal difficulty. Also it was on XBOX with a character imported all the way through part 1. Full Paragon rep, made peace between the Quarians and Geth, and pretty much did everything right.

OK I feel a bit better now lol, seriously though I love my PS3 so I bought ME2 and ME3 for it. Then when I got my xbox I bought ME1 and ME2 for that aswell, had planned on getting ME3 eventually aswell so I could do a full ME1-ME3 playthrough. Now I won't bother unless they fix the ending.

This EMS thing though is driving me mental, we need to figure this b**ch out!
