So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Only thing I can think of is perhaps there was something in a previous game that ending out coming to play in ME3. My character went through Me1 & 2 before importing him into ME3 (and I did every minor little quest through the entire series).
This is possible to be honest, we can't expect everyone to keep up to date with every single detail they did in ME1 and 2.

Darn. I had done all of that except sabotaging the cure (Wrex and Eve lived) and I ended up with 3700. I had hoped the Salarian support would have filled the rest, but if you've already tried all that...
I'm gonna need some time to figure this out. Anyone got a link to a complete War Assets list?
Wells there is a difference, I saved the Krogans. However I did have both the Geth and Quarians, plus I ended out finding Salarian fleets to help me anyways. It was about half way through the campaign that I started getting decent numbers added to my EMS.
Wracking my brain for this, because trusting my luck, I stumbled across something that helped and didnt realise it.
I said except for sabotaging the cure, as in I cured the genophage and let Mordin sacrifice himself. I made peace between the Quarians/Geth, and Salarian fleets are given to your cause if you save the Salarian Councilor (which I did), but the support isn't as much as you would get for sabotaging the genophage cure.
I don't know. The list Hezz gave me is kinda hard to understand since it's ripped right from the game files, but I'm gonna make sense of it and figure this out - tomorrow, since it's 3:30 AM here. Night ya'll.

On my first playthrough and before I began playing the multiplayer, I didn't get the breathing scene even though I chose destroy, completed every sidequest before a priority mission, scanned every planet I possibly could, and maxed out my paragon bar so I could compromise with the geth and quarians.
Question regarding the bold bit....how did you get it full? I mean for whatever reason I was only half way up, and that was carrying over a full paragon from ME2...this whole thing just confuses me *sigh*
By doing every single possible thing up to that point, plus, you know those convos that Shep can drop in on when she/he is walking by, well yeah talk to those people as well, should max out the Rep bar before you hit Ranoch.... *shrugs* at least it did for me

Huh. I imported my paragon Shep from ME2 as well. Then, on every mission prior to the ending, I chose the paragon option.
The only paragon option I couldn't do for the strangest reason was the last dialogue choice with the Illusive Man. I can never quite get him to pull a Saren. Maybe this is an issue with the PS3 because, towards the end, I started to watch my paragon bar and no matter how many points I was awarded, it never seemed to move up. It was maybe 98% of the way full.

I believe that it is necessary to have imported a save from at least ME2 to get the best ending without multiplayer. By doing that and some scanning, not doing all sidequests, and other half-assery, I assembled over 5500 assets. I think getting the Geth and the Quarians to unite instead of picking a side makes a big difference, and this is more difficult if not impossible to do without importing the save.

Actually its quite possible to get them to Unite with each other even if you don't import... it's just more interesting.
NOTE: I've got to say, I love having the guidebook, well worth the money~!

Yes. I chose the paragon option for EVERY single dialogue and reputation choice, and that last choice when he's about to shoot Anderson is never available. It's always grayed out and I don't really know why.

Pretty sure it's impossible, since you won't meet with Legion and won't be able to keep him or salvage him (give to Cerberus).sagevallant wrote...

I pretty much have a perfect score, TMS: 6713, RR: 86% (it decays:blink:), EMS: 5773.
Yet, Shep will still die...
...so will EDI if I pick 'Destroy'
//EDIT:
Nevermind, I guess you can unite the Quarians and Geth without importing

I was going to say, uh yeah you can unite them~! I've got a friend who did it first time through....
As for your EMS, according to the guide
"At 4,000 Readiness Rating, if you choose to destroy the rEApers, and "saved" Anderson, Shepard lives"
"At 5,000 Readiness Rating, if you choose to destroy the rEApers, and did not "save" Anderson, Shepard lives."

Lol. I know exactly how that feels 'cause I just beat it on insanity about an hour or so ago and it's 3:30 AM here, too. Whoo.
Sad, though, how you're forced to re-experience all those conversations with the crew and they're all thinking that they can do this, Shepard's going to lead them to victory, etc. I just shake my head and think to myself "Oh, you just don't know you're all dead yet" and "Don't you know we can't fight space magic?" And to Joker when he says he'll be having Shepard's back and flying him to Earth in style, "Yeah, right, you liar."

I know. For the strangest reason, my paragon bar has never risen beyond that 98% when I've been awarded 11+ or so paragon points for dialogue choices with the crew at the end. Just . . . nothing. And I've played through twice now, and still nothing.
I guess it's not that big of a deal, considering I just go renegade on TIM and save Anderson. Too bad my Shep has to go out of character, though....
Has anyone else playing on the PS3 had this problem with the final dialogue choice with TIM?

Well the bar is actually a Reputation bar now, but the more of certain points you have (Paragon/Renegade) The more of that color shows up on the bar....I play the 360 so I can't help with problems on the PS3.... sorry

I created an ending generator that has 16 different outcomes. It's fairly basic, and deals more with the social and political ramifications of Shepard's choice, but hopefully it'll entertain and pique your interest for a little while.

I couldn't talk him into shooting himself either, but my dad got it so it's not a PS3 problem.
