The thing is, i dont believe Shepard would suicide. His friends, brothers and sisters and all of the rest, died so that he and others could go in living.  He'd never be able to face them in the afterlife, if he killed himself..

I don't think it would.  I would gladly give my life for my friends, for peace.  I wouldnt classify that as suicide.

Yeah, that's kind of my concern, too. It seems utterly implausible... but my trust in Bioware has been eroded to the point that I believe it just a little bit.

The difference is the intent. IF you indend to die to hopefully save your friends lives, its suicide, but IF you intend to keep living and are fighting for your friends, its an honorable thing if you fall..

If you did it explicitly for no other reason than to take a bullet, then yes. I wouldnt even waste the bullet on you myself, just walk away in disgust. 

Look, when i step in between a combatant and a friend, i have every single intention of walking away from that fight. I am NOT going to get killed by some bozo with a frikking pop gun. But if i DO get killed, i got killed fighting to live, and not simply save my buddies ass..

If it was real they wouldn't have let it stay up on the forum board it would have been taken down faster then you could say space magic. 

After reading it the only thing I could think about how slow your squad would be. Hanar, volus, and an elcor it would take a half hour to walk across a room.

 If I know that the only way to keep my troops alive was going to result in my death, I would take that choice. 

If, however, you are speaking in the terms of Shepard and his self-destructive options in ME3 endings...then I totally agree with you.  Those options made no sense and his death was needless.

So you're basically saying that it's not honorable to sacrifice yourself for the lives of friends? You'd only do it when you think you have a chance to make it out alive? Flawed argumentation.
The term "suicide" has a bad reputation, wouldn't use it in this context anyway.

They wouldn't actually; because when the player starts to run, the squadmates are put in 'fast forward' mode. I.e. they don't have their own sprinting animations, but just start walking/jogging at 2x the framerate. Benny Hill ending style....

That's one reason why the Anderson running animation looks so funny.

...Im not suggesting that sacrificing your life means you have to be a complete idiot and throw yourself infront of every danger you come across so that your friends dont get hurt.

I agree with you there completely.  I think we are speaking on two different levels here.

precisely. That one moment, is an extremely personal moment. I dont think any writer outside of perhaps Audey Murphy could accurately describe it. And i dont think any of us who had the experience, could actually describe it. Its a headspace that is even after the fact, inconcievable.

I have always lurked. As for that Mass Shift, if that was true, I think it'd get another 4 letter term starting with S if it followed that plot line. Has to be a troll (I hope.)
