If Bioware had any sence, they would send out copys of the game to all you who cry on the forums, with a locked ending, worst possible! where everybody dies! please! if the ending in the released game is not to your liking, well, then, suck it up! they can't please everybody. never seen so much selfishness before.. *look at me, i'm angry cause Bioware don't cater to my every needs!* grow up people!
Sure they can please everyone. It would be easy. Just have one ending where Shep and his LI and crew survive together (in a place where Tali and Garrus aren't doomed). Problem solved.
They've made a name for ME by trying to please everyone. Want MP? We'll add it. Want s/s romance? We'll add it. Want to skip conversations and just watch cutscenes? We'll add it.
So they should just add a 'live or die together' ending, and all will be well. I just can't accept having all the people Shepard cares about being torn away forever no matter what I do. That sucks.
People were very upset about Liara... what did they do?... I think they fixed that quite well. I just think you are blowing it out of proportions. I don't get why a heroic death is so repulsive to so many? It seems like not one game ever can have a heroic death without rage. The galaxy isn't worth the crew of the Normandy? That selfish? It's FO3 again... How dare they force me to be a hero.. those jerks.
Oh, I like heroic deaths. They are poignant. That ending should stay in and be canon. No problem. I simply want another ending that is different from that one. It's not an either/or argument for me. I want BOTH endings to be possible in the game. Unfortunately, only one ending is possible -- the one that tears everyone apart from each other.
I deal with more than enough disappointment and sadness in my RL. I want to have the option of a happy(er) ending for those days when I want to feel like the people I grew to care about got through everything and came out the other side *together*. Maybe the galaxy is kind of f'ed (same as the dark endings) but at least they still have each other. I want one of the endings to keep those relationships in tact and not butcher them ruthlessly no matter what I do. Instead BW chose to destroy those human ties without exception. I want just one exception ending where that is not the case. Where Shepard and the people closest to him live or die together. (Preferably, live somehow.)
(EDIT: Fixed spelling.)

"What they didn't like the ending? But we wrote it with the audience in mind... Wait what do you mean the majority of people no longer dye their hair dark colors, wear black and spikes, and no longer resort to cutting themselves as a means of expression? When did that trend end?"mulder1199 wrote...

Someone tweeted...I forget who..when asked if we will be able to 'sunshine puppy LI" at the end....they responed "We got you covered." implying more options for the endings.
So either leaks are wrong, there is more hidden content, bioware is patching the endings or bioware is flat out lying.

Jesus Christ, reading this was harder to understand than bad Japanese subtitles. Grammar, please.
And no, they don't change more than if Shepard dies and the color of the exploding relay.
F*uck grammar in this case dude! the point of this thred, is so god damn meaningless! and it pisses me off that people can cry this much over one of the endings of the game! And where did you get the facts on that? the color of the relays explotions? please.. if you have played ANY Bioware games, you would know, that THAT, my friend, is not true!
If it were just "one of the endings" It wouldn't be a problem. If you don't want to be spoiled and know the endings that the rest of us have been spoiled with, you don't know what the conversation is about. Kindly quit with the OMGRAWR responses to those of us who do, as well as anyone can at this point in time, know what we're talking about with the endings. If it were just one of the endings, i state again, there wouldn't be a problem.. But when EVERY ending, Shep alive or dead has the Normandy crew stranded, without shep for some God only knows reason on a deserted planet.. That's where the problem lies.

Even after the release, they won't have to say anything. The shooter crowd has been raised on grimdark endings, and they're gonna eat this up. There will be just as many lovers as haters, and Priestly will just sit back and let us kill eachother.

There isn't going to be a comment from Bioware. They don't comment on spoilers. And they don't care if a few people cancel their pre-orders. The game will still sell millions.

But with 7 different ending variations...they couldnt make ONE that would quell this thread? Wouldnt be too hard. They could trhow up a slide in an epilogue like dragon age to shut this whole issue down.

Basically, no matter what you do, the mass relays are destroyed andthe Normandy (plus the entire crew) is stranded on some random plaent in the middle of nowhere.frostajulie wrote...

In only one ending is it even implied that Shepard survived, but is still on Earth.
In all but one ending, the Geth and EDI are destroyed.
There is an epilogue, but it offers zero closure.

None of the above. BioWare's spinning the story, just like politicians do. And after the dust settles, they'll be able to claim that they didn't lie to anyone, and that the people who are disgruntled with the final product simply misunderstood their meaning.
This is SOP for all developers nowadays.

EXACTLY, give the people that want a happy ending something semi-happy and everythings good.....it can absolutely be the end of shep and everybody else without stranding them apart from each other...
i'm 32, i have twin infants, real life is depressing enough.....my time is now so limited that i rarely get to play games, when i do i want to enjoy it......i don't need to have been anticipating this game for 2 years now to be hugely disappointed in the outcome because somebody at bioware didn't say.....you know, we should make at least one 'hollywood ending'

No matter what you do, the Normandy crew gets stranded on a backwater planet with little to no technology or food. Shepard cannot be with them in any ending. This basically ensures Tali and Garrus will starve to death, if aboard, and the crew will "repopulate" the planet through inbreeding from a very small starting population.

i just figure they can't be that stupid....i'm holding out hope that the day 1 patch we'll see is going to alter an ending or add one....i'm not one to throw my money at poop, if bioware leaves things like this....they won't see my cash again...it's not the first time i've stopped playing an ea product because it left me feeling cheated....

Did you by chance not play DA2 ? No matter what you did the events occured and you got the same ending.
Now all you have to back up your rant is happy thoughts and wishful thinking.
As a matter of fact, I did paly DA2, and I liked it. I palyed it just once tho, but it was a good game. and I played ME1 and 2 more times than I would care to admit.. and I have no problems so far with ME3, cause the game isn't out yet! and its pointless to cry and complane before the game is out.. so again.. grow up people!
Actually the best time to complain is before the game is out.. Because then.. There is at least a sliver of a chance that they may be able to fix it. You seem to have a poor understanding of the way the MAss Effect was marketed.. I'm guessing you probably came in late in the game for this series, I may be wrong but I doubt it. It's always been touted as an action shooter RPG. Heavy on the RPG and that Choices made make a difference and that... You can shape how /your/ shepards story goes. No one is asking that all the Grimdark doomgloom endings be taken away. Infact those of us asking for aditional endings would probably be just as upset if they did take those away and replace them. What people are so upset about is that, no matter what you do, the ending.. is.. Basically the same for every possible ending save for a little color change and, very slight differences.
