The green ending is an afront to one of the two major themes of Mass effect.
Unity over Uniformity. Short story instead of long, you've spent the entire game uniting species despite their differences, accepting their shortcomings and bring people together into a cohesive force. Krogan, turians, geth quarians, rachni w/e
The point is that we accept each other for who we are and help each other's shortcomings. The greene nding of "making everyone equal" is digusting. Right out of "deus ex" games. Only way to achieve piece is to make everyone simple minded morons with no individualism whatsoever.

When you make everyone equal, you make everyone unhappy. Isn't that what we tried and achieved with the geth? Individuality of thought over commuity consensus?.

I agree. I played all three endings, hoping for a good one. When I did synthesis, and watched Liara (my Shep's LI) step out of the Normandy with green eyes, all I could think was "My god. I've violated her in the worst way imaginable."

I'm sure I'm not the only one. It still makes me a bit sick to my stomach to think about it. It's evil. Morally repugnant. And that it was the "best" choice only makes it worse.

well i hope they dont do a DA2 route and start it off with a totally diffrent char at the same time me3 was happening, that would be a total cluster f***.

as for games going downhill after 3 games, i could point out the COD series and the battlefield series AND the halo series and for good mesure the forza racing series but BEST OF ALL.....the Grand Theft Auto series, they are all WAY OVER 4 games.

you see its not the games its the developer and the publisher, the developer might have an fraking awesome script fo a series of games and they then break it down into diffrent games and build it up then release each one as it goes along, all it takes is ONE person to screw it up and thats it game over.

ME3 was supposed to be the swansong of mass effect but instead is became dead duck spinning in a blender with someone sining way out of tune in the background scraping there nails across a blackboard.

like i said mass effect cant continue after shepard is dead as thats the whole series gone, nothing to work on for future titles, so i know myself that they wouldent kill off there biggest money maker so ME4 will happen and i bet BW and EA deny shepard wont be in it.

shepard = mass effect = money
no shepard = mass effect = no money

they built the entire universe around shepard so yeah...mass effect IS SHEPARD

I don't see how they would have the gall to charge for it. It may have been their initial intent, but now...

Besides, the product is marketed (on Amazon) with quotes such as:

"Join Commander Shepard in the struggle against the Reapers in the conclusion to the Mass Effect trilogy."

"The Final Chapter in the Mass Effect Trilogy"

However, it also says:

"Mass Effect 3 is the third game in the popular Mass Effect series, and is rumored to be the final installment."

So basically, more bet-hedging there, I think.

Believe me friend it is getting hard, i think i should just move on.
I just got told by a friend that it is just a game......and you know what that sounds appropriate.

The Damage has been done, the people have spoken, let us NOT buy the inevitable sequel or the next Bioware product.

The only thing I disagree with in that review is that the bad ending alone will be good. I expect to see a variety of endings, depending on your previous actions. So, pure happy ending should be also included among all others.

We keep reposting and rewriting different sources of the same language: Bioware would benefit most from reading and acting on its own press releases prior to the release of the game.  They did all the linguistic work for us.

The problem appears to be that they believe their own press.  Quite the difference.

I respectfully disagree.  I feel that this should be it for Shepard live or die, (s)he has already done enough.  I think any future Mass Effect games should have a new protaganist.  After all, Shepard isn't the only soldier in the galaxy.

1st: She abandon me, no effort to  rescue me? to go up the beam and cut your way to me?
2nd. wth! All my teamates cut and ran
3rd my favorite ending was the red one, where you kill the reapers. I just lie to myself saying, the geth survive, because not all synthetics are alike, just like not all organics are, so destryong all synthetics based on reaper technology would leave the geth intact. So for me that is my least distasteful ending.

argh. english and german are both leaving me right now. you don't speak russian by any chance? 
ich weiß auch dass es nur ein spiel ist. und ich versuche irgendwie davon wegzukommen und mich auf andere dinge zu konzentrieren, oder abzulenken.. aber dann denke ich daran wie lange ich eigentlich auf dieses eine verdammte spiel gewartet habe, wie viel zeit ich mit den vorherigen teilen verbracht habe, wie sehr sie mich dazu gebracht haben die verschiedenen charaktere zu lieben und wie sehr mir die welt generell ans herz gewachsen ist.. und auch wenn ich es am liebsten vergessen würde, weiß ich dass ich mir spätestens in einem halben jahr- dann wenn ich die ganze triologie nochmals durchspielen möchte in den arsch beißen wird. wie fallout, elder scrolls und dragon age gehört diese franchise irgendwie zu denen die ich immer und immer und immer wieder durchspielen kann. nur dass mir dieses ende irgendwie den sinn genommen hat. und ich persönlich will nicht dass jetzt das ultimative ende bleibt. sicher, irgendwann würde ich es sicherlich wieder anrühren, aber immer nur mit diesem üblen geschmack im mund dass es vielleicht etwas gebracht hätte wenn wir daran geblieben wären. 

ich weiß es ist schwer und alles. aber die momentane phase ist doch weiterhin nur eine pr masche. uns sitzen lassen bis wir einfach die nerven schmeißen und aufgeben. und gnah. ich weiß gar nicht wie ich meine gedanken irgendwie ausdrücken kann.. außer- wir können nicht einfach so aufgeben. einfach nur hier sein, präsenz zeigen muss doch für irgendetwas zählen, oder?

Hold the line! The only thing that will make me give up is if BW releases lame dlc that "clarifies" via a stupid storyboard (sorry unacceptable at this point), or says they will no longer listen to us, something final like that. Otherwise I am still in limbo holding the line and will be either celebrating with you fine peeps once we get our official announcement or swearing off BW forever, never to return (after a major raging with all of you of course!). Meanwhile...I just cleaned house and had to dust off my ME3 CE - depressing!

Even if these endings hadn't sucked, I'm not sure I'd be down with playing as either.  If they were going to do another game it would have to be set far enough down the road that Shep would at least be dead of natural causes.  100 years?  Maybe 150?  Close enough that everything is still relatively fresh in the history books and can be referenced obliquely in the codex and quests, but far enough that you're not just meeting old (and geriatric) squad members every couple planets.

Of course, if the endings aren't fixed, who gives a flying f****?  I certainly won't be buying it.

I'm with you. This has to be Shepard's last ride for a number of reasons.

Firstly, as you say, he's done enough.
Secondly, what possible challenge could be worthy of him after defeating the Reapers?
Thirdly (and possibly most importantly), This is what they (BW) told us. That this would be the end of Shepard's story.

Yet, when I got to the end what did I read? You can continue Shepard's story through DLC......blah blah.

No Bioware, just no!

Shepard should either die, or ride off into the sunset with his LI. And preferably, both options and a whole bunch of others in between. Don't keep dragging him out game after game, until he starts to look as ridiculously desperate for attention as Jean Claude van Damme. It's not a fitting end to his story. Don't do it!

I'd be okay with everyone still alive... but only one mention of Shepard, no appearance for Shepard, and not one mention of anyone else. That's easy to do.
