Hi all, I'm kinda new on this thread :) would like to ask, what are the chances that Bioware will 'add a new ending' then just 'clarifying the available ending' only?
IF they do add new endings I really hope there is one happy ending with Shep getting reunited with his/her LI.

And another question: how do you cope with the ending(s)?
Even after days went by, I'm still thoroughly mad about it. Tried to contain it within and kept telling myself "It's just a game" over and over, still didn't work for me. Not trying to be overly dramatic, but it's like having a very bad heartbreak x_x
Help :'(

Welcome. I think we all share Your feelings.

Pick a spot in the line to hold it wit us :D

edit: I also want happy-ending with my LI.

Hmm... You make a very good point. Can anyone think of a time when organics and synthetics in the ME-universe ever fought, when it wasnt in self-defence or because of the reapers?
I fought with my Xbox during ME because it thought it was a little know it all updating when I didn't want it to. Does that count? Lol seriously though no I don't remember that ever happening in the ME universe.
Problem is that to the reapers, an alliance formed weeks ago is nothing in the grand scheme of galactic history so they just don't care and probably assume there will eventualy be problems again.

True but as Commander Shepard always says - there is always another way. The Reapers need some EDI programming.
Welcome! I can't speak for everyone here but I have been coping with the endings by being on this forum talking with fellow sufferers. We're like a support group Image IPB But I know what you mean about being heart breaking, I think most of us are having trouble even looking at other games because of that ending. (I would say those endings but we all know there is only 1 really!)

My only way to cope is to take the ****** out of it all, or to imagine even more unlikely scenarios:o

I don't think You can explain something unexplainable.

I'd rather Bioware doesn't loose time on "explaining" and focuses on "adding" new endings (as for me - happy-ending is a must).

I can't agree 100%.
I think happy end have to be part in SET of possible Endigs.
There should be worse Endigs and Endigs with shepard diying too!

over all it shoud more depend on what you've done the whole game and series before....
Indeed, one of this results shoud be a positive "happy" endiing.

Of course You're right. I didn't mean to imply that happy-ending is the only option.

I just ask Bioware to give those of us who want happy-ending a possibility to have one. Just 1 out of 16.

Other 15 ending can be totally different. I think the scale should be from nightmare to pink unicorns. That's it.

exactly this! ;-)

By the way, am I the only one that wondered why the Reapers never Hacked Shepard??? We all saw it happen in Overlord. Why didn't it happen here? (And so help me if anyone even breathes the word indoctrination...)

I'm not sure they can really because while Shepard has a number of synthetic parts, she's still human with a human mind etc.

Hey, (glad you decided to take my advice) welcome to the line. We don't really know what the chances are of getting new endings we are really just in the wait and see stage at the moment. I also hope there is at least one happy ending!

I personally cope by hanging out here with the rest of these guys. I was a complete mess after I finished ME3 but being here fighting for new endings helped me push through and I hope it helps you aswell. You're not being overly dramatic, we all had similar feelings with the endings.

Again welcome to the line and grab a banner here if you like.

Well Bioware is doing something that is for sure. However, what they are doing is kinda in the dark. If the theory, that the end is just harbinger trying to indoctrinate you, is right then clarifying would change everything. If not then i don't know what they wanna "clarify" to be honest.

We are all pretty heartbroken too but hey: life goes on! Besides, this just needs some time to get better. But  going trought all the funny stuff that ridicules the endings helps some, others prefer to read every bit of fanfic endings they can find, or dig into the indoc theory. Overall it is the fight for a better ending though that gives me the reson to still be here because I cared in the first place, so why should I just walk away?

As an interesting side-note, some of you may remember how me and one other player kind of nitpicked our way through part of Muzyka's PR statement? And how I commented as a totally off-topic thing that it is something one should be really, really careful about when translating, since it is so heavy with 'hidden' messages? Guess what, I found just a moment ago 'an article' about that statement, in which it was partially translated to Finnish. And not objectively so, I might add.

I bring this up, since I'm really bored I'm still kinda pissed off how the game sites are treating us.
Luckily though, the commentators are calling out their biased BS.

”Joidenkin uskollisimpien pelaajiemme reaktiot pelin päätökseen yllättivät meidät perusteellisesti. Tämä on kuitenkin asia, jolla on meille merkitystä ja tulemme vastaamaan siihen.”

So this is from the paragraph saying something about us 'passionate fans' etc in the original. Funny thing is, it's translated to be more polite than it really was in English, in order to make the biased BS easier for the critic..
'Joidenkin uskollisempien pelaajiemme reaktiot', does not under any circumstances mean what the source text said. It means something like 'The reactions of some of the more loyal gamers', which at least to me sounds a tad more respectful than the original.

After making the PR spin sound really consumer friendly and considerate, the writer decided to end his masterpiece of journalism with this:

Osa Mass Effect 3:n läpipelanneista on pettynyt teoksen epähollywoodmaiseen päätökseen, jossa asioita ei väännetäkään rautalangasta eikä kaikkeen annetakaan yksiselitteisiä vastauksia.

Some of the players who have finished ME3 have been dissappointed with the un-Hollywood-like ending, in which all things are not 100% explained and spoonfed to the gamer.

(the Finnish idiom 'vääntää rautalangasta' is close equivalent to 'do I need to draw a picture', and is pretty much never used in any polite exchange I can think of. the grammar also indicates that the spoonfed ending was what we were expecting, since we are dumb gamers who don't know any better, and sorry, it does not translate well, so I didn't even bother to try)

Why nitpick my way through this article you might ask? Well, the easy answer is: I'm a sick and bored English major with nothing better to do. Who also has lost any faith she might once upon a time had in the gaming media.

PS, I think the guy who wrote this article might have a bright future with IGN, he's condesending and rude enough.

Bioware even stated some months ago, they thought about an indoctrinated Shepard, but skipped the idea for that moment,Image IPB because they had no idea how they gonna manage it. But they never said, if this concept is skipped completly or just the idea they worked out. Basicly, they thought about it and who knows if they finally done it or not.

Actualy I hope the "Missing" squad mates went off to find a hidden hammerhead hanger, a bit like a hidden SPV, and then just as the godchild is blabbering on to Shepard, the do the classic, rise up from bellow behind him and you hear the jets whining, and they do this

A friend of mine just said "Could you imagine, if at PAX they all just come out and say the ending was a massive April Fools joke and they release the ending DLC?"

If that were true I wouldn't know wether to bow down in kudos or just rage at the trolling

Believe me friend it is getting hard, i think i should just move on.
I just got told by a friend that it is just a game......and you know what that sounds appropriate.

The Damage has been done, the people have spoken, let us NOT buy the inevitable sequel or the next Bioware product.

I understand what you're saying - but hold the line my friend - this is what they want - When this happens the next time because we didn't hold the the line?  We're the customer - we are right - only way to effect change is to have the stomach to stay the score.

Nothing comes easy - while this might be only a game - a game we all love - we're also fighting to keep gaming companies honest.....to hold them to their word and most of all not to ship out incomplete game.....

I would agree with you...but when I think about it, what choice do they really have at this point besides running with the Joke?

If they would come out with it earlier when **** hit the fan the first time around it'd be even less funny, at least in april it would give people a chance to calm down and just shake their heads rather than actively yelling "Dick move"

I don't know anymore, everyday its ups and downs, if the ending was held back, it would have been becuse they were running out of time, not for the publicity stunt factor :?

Hmm I dunno, they could have came out with it a week ago. They don't need to wait this long and like I said it's hurting them badly already, what with all the press that's come out of this and stuff.

I hate april fools so if it is indeed an april fool I might just boycott BioWare on principle lol

I made the mistake of listening to the ME3 soundtrack, it started with "I Was Lost Without You" Image IPB
