Have you noticed that some of the Reaper Sounds are  Transformer sounds for the Decepticons from the movies... I caught some of them where is sounds like the are talking in some kind of language. or whirrs.

Did remind me of that a bit, but sounded pretty cool anyway

Yeah I caught it when  I started another play through when the Reaper landed by the drop ship.

There should be a fan-based game media site. I know that there are gamers who do it but there should at least be a site where the reviews are by gamers who have paid for and played the games in their entirety themselves so they aren't beholden to the game companies.

Good idea. The trick is not to let it be bought by those media site companies if/when it grows popular.

I suspect, if this mess proves to have been a costly PR /marketing gamble by BW/EA, that most of those sites will be as outraged as the rest of us. They will have been made to look like fools along with the rest of us.

I really can't see any glimmer of hope for BW in all this.

True, it's just a case of finding the right person to own the domain and then hold onto it!

Interesting Idea I had from another thread about Sherlock holmes

"

Zanallen wrote...

No, the ending was expanded on.
The following books added to the story and revealed that what the reader
thought had happened wasn't the truth. I can still go out and buy the
Final Problem right now and it will end with Holmes supposedly dying.
The ending to that book hasn't changed.

Well
that's what could happen in this case, so bioware would not be lying
that they would not change the endings, and most of the fans would get
what they wanted

I.e
No, the ending was expanded on. The following DLC added to the story
and revealed that what the Player thought had happened wasn't the truth.
I can still go out and buy Mass effect 3 right now and it will end
with Shepard supposedly dying. The ending to that Game hasn't changed."

I don't think You can explain something unexplainable.

I'd rather Bioware doesn't loose time on "explaining" and focuses on "adding" new endings (as for me - happy-ending is a must).

I agree. The ending as it stands is so out of sync with the rest of the games that it is just sad. :?
And I think there should be a variety of endings from happy-ending to horrific-bad

PS, I think the guy who wrote this article might have a bright future with IGN, he's condesending and rude enough.

Heh.

Interesting to see that, thanks for putting it up. It's a shame that along with the better things we also have some of the worse parts of the movement translating across cultures (i.e. condescension from media who think gamers are entitled brats).

Someone did call out his IGN-fondness/brainwashing at the comment section, not me though, since I'd need to register to do that. B)  Also, bear in mind, this guy is to my knowledge a game critic. Funny world when BBC and Forbes are more objective and polite to gamers than gaming media.

But yeah. I'm glad I hardly ever have supported these mainstream game critics even before this, since clearly their opinions are either payed, or, well, payed.

Sign me up for this as well, I'd be happy to contribute.

Same here. If the Retake ME3 movement has proven anything, then it's that what calls itself "gaming journalism" is nothing but a lapdog of the industry, operating on such a low level, including outright insulting rhetoric, that it's impossible for anyone with an IQ of above 40 to take them seriously...

I'd be happy to help out with a project that counters this travesty of journalism.

A friend of mine just said "Could you imagine, if at PAX they all just come out and say the ending was a massive April Fools joke and they release the ending DLC?"

If that were true I wouldn't know wether to bow down in kudos or just rage at the trolling

Forbes did an article on this - if this was their plan all along - gut feeling says yes - they can't actually admitt it because of the PR nightmare it became....they came so close to what they were trying to do - indoctrinate not just shepard but us also.......

as I said; just having the their app on Ipad and not on any other platform was a really bad idea - they could of easly handled pr much better with it on all platforms - given out hints which would of held off this "£%" storm....

There too much evidence that's points to this -  As other have said - I don't think BW was ready for how quickly people beat the game - they were also looking at the ending polarising their fans; not most of their fans hating the ending.....

Reporting in, still holding the line.

Here's hoping for a new ending that cuts to the final shot of Shepard taking a breath, only to hear TIM's voice 'Assuming control' now THAT would be an ending to talk about!

While I'd be onboard for establishing a fan-site for reviews I wouldn't go as far as say using the movement to go after game media sites. I just don't see that ending well.

line holding seems quite hard at the moment.

Believe me friend it is getting hard, i think i should just move on.
I just got told by a friend that it is just a game......and you know what that sounds appropriate.

The Damage has been done, the people have spoken, let us NOT buy the inevitable sequel or the next Bioware product.

I understand what you're saying - but hold the line my friend - this is what they want - When this happens the next time because we didn't hold the the line?  We're the customer - we are right - only way to effect change is to have the stomach to stay the score.

Nothing comes easy - while this might be only a game - a game we all love - we're also fighting to keep gaming companies honest.....to hold them to their word and most of all not to ship out incomplete game.....

HOLD THE LINE

I agree on that.. to be honest, for me it was more than just another ordinary game... for five year, either you want to admit it or not, it was somehow forming us - our way of understandig the world, how to percieve other people.. I've spent hundrets of hours playing it.. not because I wanted to see all the possibilities, I've even played it many times exactly the same like the last time, because the way Shep always had the right answer for every situation, the way he/she was able to make alies out of longtime enemies is what amazed me. And so on. It influenced us. I (at least) always wanted to do 'the right thing' in the game a I felt good about it.. I trusted that what I'm doing there, the decisions I've made, would be right in the real world as well. It help me in a way to realize those 'big good things' I could have never done in real life. And I felt betrayed at the end - that it was just some weird joke made by Bioware, like if they were mocking me for following thit game for so long.. I was confused about what this "message" meant - am I ridicculous to them now for being honest in my choises in ME1-3?

Sorry for such a long text. I've been watching this 'movement' for new endings from the very beginning but never wrote anything. I just felt that even I need to share/express what I think with you guys.             (srry for my english btw :> Anyway I hope I've made my point)

Hold the line a bit longer, please! :]

Morning everyone. Today I started with some "Truth DLC fake" digging.

I've found out something interesting.

Remember this? Image IPB

Most obvious thing to do was to copy-paste ME3 .pcc files and rename them, but interestingly enough most of the files shown in the screenshot have "unique" weigh, KB speaking.

I agree, the reason everyone is so angry, is there has always been another way, you could always shout your way to victory, Mass effect 1 even ended with a star wars style medal scene, and me2 you could get everyone to live so its just a big shock to everyone

The only thing that comes to mind is that if this guy was a real Bioware employee being fired and this was legitimate Bioware would know exactly who it was and probably go after them for breach of contract.

I'm curious... ME3's endings were so bad, I'm curious if it'll become the de facto example of bad endings in the future. Like "jumping the shark", "nuking the fridge", and "punching the boulder".

What would ME3's be?
"Exploding the Relays"?
"Starving the Fleet"?
"Unplugging the EDI"?
"Marauding the Shields"?
"Buying the DLC"?
"Picking the Color"?
"Negating the Choices"?
"Virmired the Endings"?
"Renegade the Closure"?
"Crashing the Normandy"?
"Violating the Starchild"?
"Elcored our Emotional Engagement"?
"Photoshopped the Quarian"?
"Killing the Codex"?
"Slept with the Ardat-Yakshi"?
"Critical Mission Failure of Logic"?
"Indoctrinated the Shepard"?

Help me out here.

How about "Nuking the Franchise"?

Believed the Star Child?

I vote "Picking the color"

also dont forget that if it was a legit ex-bioware employee it wouldent have been posted on 4chan, i would have been posted on more mainstream websites such as gamewinners, megagames or even quikjump (QJ) websites or even on forbes.

but what did give   it away was all the plot holes way more than the ending itself, like a new planet in our own solar system, liara getting back to theddia and to top it off.....garrus on palvan.

when i saw the 4chan layout i knew in seconds it was fake
