I'm curious... ME3's endings were so bad, I'm curious if it'll become the de facto example of bad endings in the future. Like "jumping the shark", "nuking the fridge", and "punching the boulder".

What would ME3's be?
"Exploding the Relays"?
"Starving the Fleet"?
"Unplugging the EDI"?
"Marauding the Shields"?
"Buying the DLC"?
"Picking the Color"?
"Negating the Choices"?
"Virmired the Endings"?
"Renegade the Closure"?
"Crashing the Normandy"?
"Violating the Starchild"?
"Elcored our Emotional Engagement"?
"Photoshopped the Quarian"?
"Killing the Codex"?
"Slept with the Ardat-Yakshi"?
"Critical Mission Failure of Logic"?
"Indoctrinated the Shepard"?

Help me out here.

How about "Nuking the Franchise"?

Believed the Star Child?

I vote "Picking the color"

more like
"Screwing The People"
Take the money"

See this is what I like about BSN, you end up talking to really interesting people who you wouldn't normally get the chance to meet.

Also makes me jealous. Why is it that every gamer I meet is more interesting and has a good job to boot :'D

For me, I'm an EVE Online corporation ceo and an IT University student. Kinda expected to have my own site...I have my own Teamspeak and whatnot too xD lol

Well... if it happens I'll happily review FPS's and strategy games haha.

Well the average age for gamers is 35. Wich gives us enough time to have done a fair bit of living (and a career).

I'm always happy to review whatever games I go and buy. I would put myself forward to put the website together but I'm better at the networking side of IT, coding etc I leave to others Image IPB

Im only 22 (23 in Oct). I've been a manager at several places, controled large scale gaming guilds (like a 500 person guild on SWG) and traveled to 4 different countries already (US, Holland, New Zealand and Spain). Age isn't the thing, just a lot more gamers get out and do things than the media makes people believe.

It's not hard. My site is mainly a forum, just been revamped and hasnt seen any use since. Just gotta add a "blog" section and change the layout. Past that, its pretty easy.

Morning everyone. Today I started with some "Truth DLC fake" digging.

I've found out something interesting.

Remember this?

Most obvious thing to do was to copy-paste ME3 .pcc files and rename them, but interestingly enough most of the files shown in the screenshot have "unique" weigh, KB speaking.

super small file sizes, the badly photo shopped picture and the rant about the day 1 dlc, emailed the picture to himself and then shuts the computer down.

ok bit of quick IT knowlage, it takes only seconds to trace the ip address of the email because its saved on local servers before being sent through the company servers and then a router, if he used his bioware email and sent it out then he's screwed up as it can be traced to him instantly and POW he's sued for a TON of money

i'm getting sick to death with ppl still beleving this bullchit and are adiment its real even tho its been proven its fake...ITS 4CHAN FFS

an idea on a real bittersweet ending

starchild says his bit
shep tells him were to go
LI comes into the room(followed up the beam)
shep goes onto open channel and tell the fleet to wipe out the cat/citadel(all shipsfire on my signal)
joker comes on channel saying were coming to get you
shep tells him theres no time and orders him to stay away
then tells LI to try and escape
LI refuses sits down holds shep in arms
shep gives the order to fire
all ships fire
just before the hits shep says
"im comander shepard and this is my favourite place on the citadel"(bit of fan humour)
cgi time
after showing crew and vips in a won or lost sequence and your influance on the galaxy

*a few bits ive read over the last week mixed with my own thoughts

I know :P I'm just at the moment a bit gloomy when thinking about my future, career-wise. I have no delusions, since I don't want to become an English teacher, I'm pretty much studying something which probably won't get me employed... ever, since Finns are almost bilingual in terms of English. Ironically thanks to video games, a resent study just showed how high school boys in Finland own their English skills to video games and things like Xbox Live and such. B) *pretends this is interesting and totally not off-topic*

the last part is true. only 21 myself but pretty much studied english, japanese, theater and art, photography and currently to top it off webdesign. as for jobs, well, nothing major. backstage/concert photographer for two years, quite a lot of freelancer things but mostly animal rescue for more than three years. rebuild 3 shelters in hungaria, build up a large network here in vienna and take a lot of trips to guatemala- about two months just last year, two more this year. 'gamers' are actually quite active people. at least the ones i know.

Oh, that's nice, one year older than me. I'll just go to my dark emo-closet and cut myself with my physical copy of ME3, since that's pretty much all it's good for.  (I happento be in that unfortunate minority whose game wouldn't install from dvd's because Origin said no.)

After this BioWare ME3 ending thing is over...I vote we go after the game media sites that have been insulting us. Just a thought, at any rate.

There should be a fan-based game media site. I know that there are gamers who do it but there should at least be a site where the reviews are by gamers who have paid for and played the games in their entirety themselves so they aren't beholden to the game companies.

While I'd be onboard for establishing a fan-site for reviews I wouldn't go as far as say using the movement to go after game media sites. I just don't see that ending well.

Others have said about doing reviews - I've done a few in the past and wouldn't mind doing them again - hell would be better than alot of reviews out there.

There are games that the reviewers hated; that I've loved - understood that some of the game played sucked but the story behind them made them enjoyable.........aka Alpha Protocol - game play was clunky at times - because it was a port - but there was a lot of freedom in choices you could do in the conversations.  Some of the twists were nicely done and I actually didn't see coming......:D  Plus picking it up on steam for for 1.99 really helped :D

I really can't see a way out of this mess for BW. Whether you believe the ending is simply a bad screw-up or, as I do, that they already have the ending and were planning to release it later for money, I can't find a way out for them that doesn't alienate some portion of their fan-base and make them look bad.

The best result I can think of (which works regardless of which theory about the endings you believe) is to announce in April that they are "working" on alternative endings. This buys them more time. Time for the anger to die down and time for the media to move on to other matters. They may produce some initial, half-assed "explanation" of the current ending, to keep the ending-likers happy and at odds with the rest of us.

Then, six months or so down the line, they release the alternative endings. Paid-for, of course, because by then they will have spun something about the costs of re-hiring the voice actors etc. and how much the ending has cost them etc. They'll be banking that, by then, people will have calmed down and be more "reasonable" about the whole affair. Also, by then, anyone that still clamours for a free DLC will be viewed with a certain amount of hostility and suspicion by the press and subject to ridicule.

By leaving it a good length of time, it gives them legitimacy.

Any thoughts?
