You know people keep bringing up this inbreeding thing, but if you do things intelligently then a few dozen people can sustain a viable population if people are only able to have children with particular individuals.  And after a couple generations yeah everyone is some sort of cousin or another to everone else, but those cousins can set it up that they only have children with their most distant relatives and eventually a few generations after that it doesn't matter anymore because other than your closest family members everyone else is so distant a relative and theres so many people that you can be aloud to just date and have families with whomever you please, except your closest cousins yadda yadda.

The SR-2 doesn't even have a crew large enough to sustain a genetically-viable population, and that's even assuming the ideal ratio of men to women (it's not) and everyone survives the crash landing (and that's not guaranteed or necessarily implied even in the best ending).

And in a side note, what the hell Samantha Traynor is identical to my vanguad femshep. Oh, there will be words.

yeah but you can totally have a twin scene if you romance her. ;P

Doing new scenes would require calling the VA back as well as a lot of CG work.

No, they could call back one VA or two maybe, and then just do a bunch of stills like in Fallout and have a narrative.

Im not going to read through 243 pages of posts so here's my opinion on the topic: I understand people's trepidations about the endings, I really do believe it or not. However, if any of you...ANY of you expected to be able to walk away from ME3 with anything less than a 2012 (the movie) ending were simply being delusional and naive. Im not saying that to be mean, Im saying it as a matter of fact statement. To actually sit here and think that you were going to be able to get a "Walt Disney" kind of ending is simply silly.

Ever since ME2, I have fully come to expect that the "best case scenario" kind of ending we'll be able to get is, as I said, a "2012" kind of bittersweet ending. You honestly cant expect a "happily ever after" ending can you? Seriously? >.>

Because we not only came back from death but could totally survive the suicide mission.

Actually its mostly multilpayer fixes or single player import bugs that were found after certification (these take top priority because they ruin the game in both SP and MP).

IN reality the fifteen minutes we witnessed on the ME3 demo the Reaps had the city half destroyed by the time Sheppard flew off planet. Now IF the Reaper carry on at the same level of utter destruction we witnessed while Sheppard travels around the Galaxy most of Earth will already be utterly destroyed by the time he get back. Or the Reapers aren't doing anything while Sheppard is gone - you can't have it both ways. The the question becomes what is there left to save of earth?

If the real danger, as presented by any semi competent writer is indeed the Reapers with 70% earth already destroyed and more destruction yet to come when Sheppard gets back - then it is far easier to simply blow up the earth relay killing the Reapers and the rest of earth. Or slam a asteroid of the size that wiped out the dinosaurs. Leaving the rest of the Galaxy relays intact - if logic were anywhere in the game anymore that should be the hardest choice. Yet the most effect for humanity in the colonies and the rest of the species in the Galaxy. But instead we get this forced stupidity that can only please sadomasochists. That's really, really sick in the extreme.

Does Liara get stranded too? That could potentially solve the population problem....if she has one child with each crew member >.> <.< Then these children grow and breed with unrelated crew members...

I hope that is joke in here. If ME3 was our game, our Sheppard, why would there only be such endings.

Though from the "war assets" list there has to be other endings, why else would the geth give a bonus always. There is at least a scenario where they are reaper controlled as well as EDI and have to be destroyed.

Otherwise there wouldn't be a reason to do ALL the side quests. This probably happens when you only do the story part.

Origin/EA

Why should I Pre-Load Mass Effect 3?

Updated: 2/29/2012
You will be able to pre-load Mass Effect 3 in Origin beginning Friday, March 2 (for more precise times based on your region, please check help.ea.com/article/mass-effect-3-release-schedule). This offers several advantages:

You will be able to download the game ahead of the launch date. This will save time when the game becomes available to unlock, unpack, and install.

In the case of Mass Effect 3, a day-one patch is required before playing on launch day, but this patch is already included in the pre-load data. That means you will be ready to play an up-to-date version immediately upon release.

Speculation commence...NOW.

You know, none of these characters are returning to a BioWare game ever again. What's so wrong with them getting stranded?

That's not true, you'll get to kill them and steal their pants in the MMO.

No! No talk of an MMO! I will really hate it if they do another TOR stunt

And I'll have to ask once again, but is it confirmed that this outfit is only for an NG+ playthrough? (that was the only answer I got and I hope it's trolling)

Now I'm picturing a quest in a Mass Effect MMO where you land on a planet filled with super mutants that need you to collect thirty varren gall bladders for their offering to "The Shepard".

You don't choose to wear that outfit, that's what Shep's armor looks like at the end.

I don't agree with what Bioware did, it was an unnessesary slap in the face to people who have followed the series from the begining. If I wanted a Deus Ex ending, I'd be playing Deus Ex. There should be a scene where Shepard sacrifices himself and a scene where Shepard doesn't sacrifice himself but at higher cost and the war assets you have should reduce that cost. The normandy stranded thing should never happen - it should end up crashed back on earth unless you're lacking war assets in which case it should be stranded or die. And there should be a way to take the more delay route and basically hang onto the relays while leading the reapers out of the galaxy - if the delay/control route destroys the relays anyway - what is the point of it.

Saying this is better for the next game in the series is pointless. Because entire civilisations are either merged with synthetics or they aren't, how we gonna work that one out?

And it shouldnt matter if Shep lives or dies because he will be dead by the time they make any game in the future and chances are they'll do a sequel anyway.

It just feel really let down and I'm someone who didn't complain about ME2, who enjoyed both ME1 and ME2

So, has anyone seen the Good Destroy ending yet?

Yes I saw it. It shows Shepard resting in the ruins of London, and shows her/his chest taking a deep breath indicating that She/he survived.

Mhhh...if the endings turn out to be true(I'm european, so I can watch for two days how it all turns out and stay "relatively" calm), this might be just the xenomorph/alien hatching from Shepards chest.
The final cherry on it.

Not really like that.

I almost got my engineering-degree finished. Not gonna waste that for bad endings :D

Oh wow, that clip is what I feel like doing because everyone is blowing **** and pissing and moaning like a bunch of depressed teenagers who got their razor blades taken away so  they can't kill themselves.

Yeah, that's what it looks like from the breathing ending

but

WHAT does he do then? He gets up and...?
