I just assumed future ME games would be something that either takes places far in the future with a new set of aliens, or(more likely) something that takes places prior to the trilogy, like maybe a game about the first contact war. I don't know if I could bring myself to play that though knowing in the end the universe is screwed and everybody dies.
Time travel, go back in time and destroy the prothean ruins on mars and save humaity from destruction in the first place.
I'm playing FF XIII-2 right now, take my mind of the depressing ME3 ending. As long as there are no reapers in FF XIII-2 I'll be happy
So we can't get the ending we want after all?

True, so maybe we don't stop them then, maybe just make sure these reapers are created with one fatal flaw, so we can go back into the future and use that to kill them.

Starfleet would do well against the reapers, I.e since Ezo based kinetic barriers are not protection from directed energy weapons, e.g the main armament of star trek universe vessels

Actually a remastered version would be kinda nice... Maybe using the graphics of ME2, or perhaps using the engine they designed for ME3?
I wondered about this as well. My first throughts were that 'updating' ME1 to use the ME3 engine would be quite possible...Then I remembered that ME1 has the Mako, which you can leave at any point (unlike its replacement in ME2 which you could only leave at set points). So I don't think that updating ME1 would be possible without some major re-working of the engine.

But wasn't that only if you are able to look time from the outside? So all we need to do, is to make that tall scottish guy the hero of the game, and everything's well again

Serious question, in ME2 we upgrade the Normandy's guns to the Thanix cannons which Joker uses in applause-worthy manner to rip the Collector ship apart. Why have we not seen this amazing gun in action against Harby? (well any of the Reapers really)BigglesFlysAgain wrote...

And a new hero rises up and makes it to the Citadel beam, and goes up to do the whole crucible bit, we find out how it really works, and stop the reapers. Seems kind of short though for a whole game.

So what, exactly would be the next ME game? Hunter gatherers and wooly mammoth tusks?
You know, as long as I got to choose which mammoths I hunt, I'd be cool with that
More than the colour of the mammoth, mind you.
Some indie dev needs to make this ASAP.
ME4.
Take the tusks back!
(players will be given 20 minute game play missions followed by an hour or more of loading scenes and dialogue complete with hundreds of unique dialogue "choices" and dozens of "decisions" to make, all of which resulting in blue, red, or green tusks. Would be awesome.

He shoots two of those reaper fighter drone things and that seems to be it though. The reaper weapons are superheated metal beams though not lazers

Space Magic is a pacifist? Good question though, I suppose we can assume Joker fired together with the whole Quarian fleet when killing the reaper on Rannoch, but that's about it (?)

Hmm... Should still be possible though... Would have like the weapon-selection thing from ME3 in the other 2 games as well... Was awesome that you could select what type of weapons you wanted to bring along instead of the ''default'' every weapon in ME1 and some weapons in ME2

Well... For my run-through of ME3 I was thinking that they might have downgraded the Thanix Cannon to what was originally used for the SSV Normandy SR1... But my codex stated that the Thanix Cannon was equipped on the Normandy, but why not use it?

It is used at the start of the battle he shoots two fighters with it, but like the reaper beams its based on its a lot more short ranged than any mass accelerator weapon

Why call the mega-macguffin the Crucible? If it was a weapon, why not call it the Hammer, or the Anvil?
And why Crucible, not Forge?
Crucible is a very specific word. I'd like to think it was chosen for a reason. I looked up the definition, just to be sure:
http://www.thefreedi...ry.com/crucible
Particularly I'm looking at the definition which says:
"A severe test, as of patience or belief; a trial."
Maybe BW had this in mind all along? That the Crucible wasn't a weapon as such. It was where Shepard would face a test of his beliefs and that test would determine if he was worthy enough to go on to destroy the Reapers?
Just thinking out loud.... don't lynch me! It just seemed a very particular word to use to describe something that was supposedly a weapon, that's all.

I'll take your word for it. Because the other option would be downgrading, because, I don't know, Turian fleet called and wanted it back.

Ahh... So... Was the Normandy in orbit around Rannoch like the Migrant Fleet, while firing on the reaper?
