You mean the book that came with the collector's edition, right? If so, I wouldn't call it a must-have....

In hard bind very big luxerious edition.in shell cover.

Oh, okay. Didn't see that you meant the actual ME1 Collector's Edition. It's your call, my friend. Do what you think is best with your money because, if you're buying it used, BioWare won't be getting a dime.

Totally different thought - During the Eden Prime mission where you get Javik I brought along Kaidan, my VS, because I thought there'd be a bit of interesting dialogue. Now there was a brief conversation on the shuttle but am I alone in thinking that there should have been a moment included in that where they stop to remember how it all got started? I mean, Jenkins dies there and that's where you meet Ashley and get hit by the Prothean beacon. Aha, as a fellow Kaidanmancer (?) did you not find it a little odd that after Thessia you weren't able to go and speak to him? I was able to speak to pretty much everyone else but the guy who supposedly has loved Shepard for all these years had nothing to say

If it is a second hand copy I wouldn't feel guilty at buying it, since Bioware will already have made money off it from the original buyer.

They might not read all of them, but it gives them an idea of how many people actually care about this enough to go out of their way to send an email/write a letter.

I think they will; they're organizing it and everything. 
But I'm not sure how they will react to "no new ending, but we have great mp maps dlc on the way" statement....

That's it!  The only difference here then is that this is a ridiculous situation that Bioware created, but their endings don't really demonstrate much of anything when compared to their story.
