While I'm sympathetic to them as human beings, it IS their job and definitely their "mess" to deal with.

I asked at the (german division of) Amazon, and they denied the rumor of offering refunds.
If I was that unsatisfied by the product, I should contact the publisher/studio - that's what they told me.

wait, they did? damn it. i have already everything packed up.. gnah. well, gamestop it is then.

Thing is, if they don't answer us by PAX, the whole panel is going to be people asking about the endings...

Well - they made the mess and they have to deal with consequences :P

also, don't forget: they're getting paid for it as well!

Key word, almost :P

They do, but:

1. they get paid mostly for developing games,
2. even if PR guys get paid for their stuff it doesn't make it any less pleasant to answer difficult questions from customers.

PAX would be super-pleasant if ME 3 was finished, polished product with all promised features.

Now it may look as liability.

And guys try to remember that Dr. Muzyka said "april", not PAX.

We may get nothing at PAX, because it is too early for Bioware to reveal plans.

From the start we knew this would long haul. Loosing faith won't bring us closer to our aim.

Holding the line cost us nothing but some time and some engagement. It is not a big price to see that our pleas result in new endings.

Naw, they're going to just get to experience that "lots of speculation" that they were hoping to generate. I'm certain that they'll be looking forward to it... or not.

well, that's a good stuff to add to their CV if they succeed to elude the problem^^

So am I the only one who thought the Relays getting destroyed seemed fitting to coincide with the end of the Reaper threat?

After all, the Reapers created them to make organic civilizations develop along the paths they desire, and since the Reapers are no longer in control of organics, self-determination should take hold.

I'm not saying that Bioware handled it well, but the idea isn't that bad.

They are not paid to take flak, if any problems arise I would not blame them for walking away.

I'll hang onto mine in the hopes that they'll fix this pinnacle of false advertising, also known as the "ending". If not... well then I'll just stand creepily behind Tali in engineering, admire my fish, and go shooting on the Citadel. Multiplayers helping a bit too.

Really? Amazon refunded me, no questions asked. The refund payment cleared two days ago.

Maybe they could sense my ire........

So I beat the game yesterday, knowing full-well what was awaiting me at the end. I had read about them repeatedly, but I hadn't actually seen the endings. They were just as nonsensical, logic-breaking, and heartbreaking as I imagined. I hated playing through it, knowing full well that my 3700 War Assets (without MP, though I did play MP to boost it up) meant absolutely nothing. I also got the secret "Shepard lives" ending, which makes no sense because of the Mass Relays blowing up and destroying huge chunks of the galaxy in one go. I don't know how Bioware could have crafted such an amazing game, only for them to mess it up in the final moments :crying:

Maybe American Amazon and German Amazon deal with things differently then.
I asked, because I was positive that they would agree, yet they didn't. (Which I can understand from their point of view) But still... *sigh* Now I've got to see this through to the end, no matter what.

Going down fighting it is then. :bandit:

I wonder if any indi programmers would mind modding - or whatever you call it - a "new" ending if Bioware decides to stick with the one they put out (again, I believe you can hardly say we got 3 endings, not to mention 16)?

You're not invisible. I can see you.....wait...that didn't come out right. I'm not a stalker, I swear! :D

Nope it was only one ending, in three colors.

^_^ Glad to hear it!

what i dident know was that EMS degrades within 10 minutes of getting 100%, i JUST hit 100% after TIM base attack and i went and i waited 5 more mins and i looked at the GAW screen, it said 100%, i clicked on the war map and oh look 99%, they need to make it LOCK at 100% when you hit it first time because i am SICK of the IOS apps and SICK of multi player chit and a55holes with lag switches.

SERIOUSLY people are so sad they use lag sqitches to booth there own scores while we all wonder WTF is happening

and oh FYI the MAXIMUM i got in war assets after doing every single mission and side mission and even those pissy little "listen to the people" missions all i got was 6990, that REALLY pissed me off and i dont know what i missed as i triple checked lists making sure i never missed anything.

About the lag switches, is that where your character trips out and then flies outside the map? Because every ten games or so that happens to me, and if someones doing that intentionally...

i don't know what is a lag switche but sometimes for me the MP is absolutely unplayable due to lag, i m even sometimes out of the map...

thats one side effect, the other is that everyone takes AGES to rez in the game and by the time they have rezzed were all dead and the room leader is left standing the winner each time, longest 10 waves i had lasted just over 30 mins, the shortest 10 waves was........2 minutes 18 seconds AFTER the loading

I disagree. They are being paid to make a product for mass consumption. Just like any Artist in times before us, had a patron who hired him for a job, the patron is paying and thus has every right to slap the artist if the end product is toof ar off from what was expected.

You only have art rights so as long as if your product, and not a product being sold to someone else.

The moment you sell a product it becomes their property.

This is no different than a car. Once payment is made, rights of ownership aside from manufacturing spec change hands.

The game is the company's game up until release, once monetary value of some sort changes hands that game is no longer theirs. You can disagree, you can argue, but the fact is the game is a product and like any product the only right the manufacture holds over, the copy rights and bragging rights. Aside from that the item is not longer theirs.
