A new article from Forbes; http://www.forbes.co...e-the-industry/
*Edit* They are, apparently, trying to get an interview from Bioware about ME3...if they can manage that it should be...interesting.
Finally! Some websites are calling things what they really are. Games journalism is a symbiotic relationship with game developing that is more than meets the eye. One needs the other, so it's not surprising when all the big games come out with stellar scores. The companies give enough "heads up" to the "journalists", in the form of interviews, previews and first hand stuff, that they repay by giving good scores. And they know that after it's done once, they will continue the relationship.
It's no surprise that games with entire parts missing, like Kotor 2 and others, get stellar reviews without a single mention to their problems. Not even the most obvious ones.
Sadly, it makes game producers stick to their guns and say: "I don't know where this criticism comes from, we had stellar reviews of our game". They know it's all just "mise en scène", but the "symbiotic chain" keeps them apparently above criticism.
But we will prove this chain can be broken.
Edited: and the prove of the pudding is exactly why Forbes is doing it. It's because they are not a game media, and are not dependent on anyone from the industry. They are an "off the chain" publication. <_<
