I'm with you on getting the hoodie.... and replaying the other games... If, and only if they fix the endings properly. Also I might, MIGHT pre order DA3... maybe... <_< once it gets closer to release time... For now I'm thinking of Assassin's Creed 3 and Resident Evil 6.

I would hold off on DA3 pre-orders. Wait a couple of days and then buy it...so you won't have to go through ME3 all over again if it sucks :?

Problem is, is that I'll probably some how convince myself that I need to get it... Yeah I've got a problem, I know.

Maybe I did it right with Dragon Age Origins.
I bought the "Games of the year edtion" or something similiar with all dlc 2011.
I played it, thought that it is pretty decent but it didn't flashed me like ME.
Then DA2 seemed to be a great joke compared to DA:O and I didn't missed anything or got attatched to the characters in general (covers).
So, just don't preorder it, you don't need it!
Wait for a "All DLC included" edition for 20 bucks.

Again, my problem, I will become so parinoid at not having a complete series, even when it first comes out, that I'll sucker myself into thinking that its imparative that I get DA3, no waiting for it, but that's only going to happen if they give us an ending. I don't think I could wait so long for the All DLC edition to come out, and be 20 bucks, I think at most I could wait until someone returns a copy to GameStop and get 10% more on a discount due to it being preowned and me having a PowerUp Rewards Pro card... *sigh* I feel really bad right now.. time to go and blow up some Super Mutants...

And on Topic: I'm hoping that at PAX they give us two things, A) A live stream, so that I can watch what's going on, and B) Give us some more information on this DLC that they're working on.:? The second one is more important, the first is for my entertainment~!

Dont buy DLC till they fix the ending, dont buy ME merchandise till they fix the ending. Don't stop posting on BSN and facebook declaring as much till they fix the ending.

Hold the line

I have a feeling, that if they do release DLC, it will be to fix the ending first, along with patches to the many glitches that have been happening throughout the game... (Such as Sheps hand going through objects that they shouldn't, etc)

I doubt EA wanted this kind of ending, because it destroys any chance of future games in ME universe. So lets face it BioWare screwed up.

I wouldn't be so sure about that, look at the limited budget and also the time schedule that they give most of their games, then come back and tell me that BioWare was the only one to screw up on this.

Well working in corporate finance tells me that EA will probably be all up in bioware business now. One, this fiasco could potentially trigger a goodwill write off that will ****** the shareholders off pretty bad. Second, revenue revisions at this point in the game means someone is going to get burned. No one screws up like this and can walk away without a career ending reprimand. Not only will me3 revenue stream be revised, DA3 and TOR will be affected. How much so will make the RE forecast session a miserable event at HQ. I know when our field ppl screw up like this everyone in finance dept starts hating the person who caused it. Then eventually that person is either fired or sent to immaterial unit to waste away...now it turns into incremental cash flow perseveration for EA. do they invest say $3mil to satiate the ME issue so they preserve everything else or say screw it lets gamble.

And that's what I'm scared of. The "Let's gamble" route.

If they release no other DLC besides the ending one I'll be perfectly fine with it. But if they decide to say "screw it" not release anything and just walk away I'm going to be very dissapointed.

Still, heres to hoping that at this point (since this is their biggest release this year) they'll at least try to save face and re-work it.

On a side note, if it is true, who do you think is gonna get burned? Director of project or lead writer?

Mass Effect after this trilogy if it goes on, should come back as an MMO. It would fit it perfectly. Just as the stage was set for WoW perfectly by WC 1-3. Let me say this though, all that matters in the meantime

IS FOR THE ENDING TO BE FIXED! HOLD THE LINE!

Time constraints or not, lets face the fact that it doesn't really matter. Whether it was BioWare or EA it doesn't matter! they still had enough time to write the shi*e that we got, meaning they had enough time to write something that made sense.
The f'ed up now they have to fix it.

I highly doubt it'll be an MMO, what with TOR and all.

Besides, I doubt the core fans would play it, which is where most of the players would come from. Having a Mass Effect MMO without Mass Relays would be like having a Star Wars MMO without lightspeed.

We still don't know whether they've recognized the ending of the story to be a fiasco. Neither do we have the slightest clue as to how ME3 is selling (or do we? apart from anecdotal evidence?); so we don't know whether it's a financial fiasco.

It's the latter sort that counts for BW/EA. From our knowledge----the failure of the ending is a fact, and not a matter of mere taste----of the first type of objective fiasco, we can't deduce anything about the second type.

When TOR came out, and people saw that it wasn't an 'MMO' at all, but a SP game with a chatscreen, there was an uproar too. But nothing came out of it (or has it?); I guess that's because they're selling well. They simply don't care, that they've promised an MMO, and delivered nothing more than a way of stacking everyone's SP game on top of one another.

Yeah I blame EA for DA2, the writers bear the sole respobsibility for the horrible ending. Now it's on them to fix it if they want us to continue to give them an income.

Despite how bad this sounds, I'll say it anyways, I'm kind of hoping that's what happened, and now that they've gotten feedback (from the fans) the may go and change the whole damn thing...

all endings destroy ME world as we know it, so MMO is unlikely.

Actually we know that from week 1 to week 2 there was an 80% drop in ME3 sales, the biggest drop of any of their games (yes even DA2) both in sheer number (because ME3 is the one they sold the most of) and in the actual percentage (the closest was DA2 which was like a 65% drop I think)

If they did that, they'd lose me. I hate MMOs, I hate multiplayer, and I come to ME for a good single player experience.

So BW has told us that it'd be hard to get the best possible endings, but they always let us do with this game something that was unprecedented: if we made the right decisions, we could get the outcome we want. Huge spoilers ahead, you've been warned:

Current information states that regardless of which ending you choose, regardless of whether or not Shep lives or dies, the Normandy crew gets stranded on some random world without tech, Shepard will never see them again, and the galaxy by and large is completely boned for the next 200k years or so without any kind of good spacefaring tech.

To which I just want to say...why? After so many years of giving us control, why jerk it away from us at the last second just to force us to get a "bittersweet" ending. Not that I mind there being one present, and I'd use one in a playthrough, but not ALL my playthroughs.

You said it. I completely agree

CptData wrote...

Pretty much what you said, OP.

In short:

BW told us, the endings won't make everybody happy.
Truth is: the endings will make everybody sad.

And that, fellow fans, is the only truth here. Lets shove that down their throat.

this made me lol xD you just brightened my mood... destroyed the depression that has come over me in the last half-hour since I finished the game... thanks xD

I said the same thing before I played WoW, and the only thing that got me in the MMO world was that I was a fan of the Warcraft series.

Mass Effect has incredible potential as an MMO. It would be so easy to create an MMO based on the Mass Effect universe.

Without a doubt I'd roll as a Krogan Battlemaster.
