So we can't get the ending we want after all?

I WANT to tell people to buy the game. I do. But there's been so much bad press over the endings that people are probably avoiding the game now instead due to the poor word of mouth.
I STILL find it somewhat impressive how five minutes can destroy five years of goodwill. Well, this is how it happens.

Despite how bad this sounds, I'll say it anyways, I'm kind of hoping that's what happened, and now that they've gotten feedback (from the fans) the may go and change the whole damn thing...
To be honest? I'm right there with you, if this is what happened maybe it's taught them a lesson! and they will let the other's help them from now on.

Mass Effect after this trilogy if it goes on, should come back as an MMO.
If they did that, they'd lose me. I hate MMOs, I hate multiplayer, and I come to ME for a good single player experience.
I said the same thing before I played WoW, and the only thing that got me in the MMO world was that I was a fan of the Warcraft series.
Mass Effect has incredible potential as an MMO. It would be so easy to create an MMO based on the Mass Effect universe.
Without a doubt I'd roll as a Krogan Battlemaster.
I thought the same about sw tor because I really like Star Wars.
But then the game mechanics were 1:1 from WoW and it bored me fast despite the cool universe and all (Yes, I played Kotor 1 and 2)....
So don't think to like it only because of the universe.

We still don't know whether they've recognized the ending of the story to be a fiasco. Neither do we have the slightest clue as to how ME3 is selling (or do we? apart from anecdotal evidence?); so we don't know whether it's a financial fiasco.
It's the latter sort that counts for BW/EA. From our knowledge----the failure of the ending is a fact, and not a matter of mere taste----of the first type of objective fiasco, we can't deduce anything about the second type.
When TOR came out, and people saw that it wasn't an 'MMO' at all, but a SP game with a chatscreen, there was an uproar too. But nothing came out of it (or has it?); I guess that's because they're selling well. They simply don't care, that they've promised an MMO, and delivered nothing more than a way of stacking everyone's SP game on top of one another.
Actually we know that from week 1 to week 2 there was an 80% drop in ME3 sales, the biggest drop of any of their games (yes even DA2) both in sheer number (because ME3 is the one they sold the most of) and in the actual percentage (the closest was DA2 which was like a 65% drop I think)
Where are those figures from? If correct it is astonishing.

George Lucas ruined the Star Wars franchise the same way, he got too powerful and no one could say no to him when he wanted total control of the project.

Do you have some links? All I can find is this talk of '3.5 million units shipped'.
Do we have numbers as to actual sales, to individuals?

Oh trust me. No more locked doors and "we'll handle it" in that office room any more at this point EA and the Bioware head honcho's find it more than fitting to "Direct this Personally" they're gonna be looking over everything before even a breath proposing it go onto data be given.
This has become a ****storm that, if NOTHING else, has warned every single game company out there that they need to treat their fanbase with just a little more consideration if they wanna keep their big checks rolling in.

Actually even IF the numbers are correct nowadays gaming companys are not interested so much in sales after release. There will be always a drop.Corvus74 wrote...

First released DLC sales numbers will be a point of interest here. Nohing else matters.

Just a friendly reminder, that speculation precisely of this sort got one thread closed; so we should refrain from that, in this thread.

I know little to nothing about Star Wars but it makes sense, this seems to be the stuff that always ruins products. Someone gets too big for their boots and thinks only THEY can make it. *sigh* it's sad really.

I was going to draw them a picture of Marauder Shields, but I'm kind of a garbage artist. Maybe I'll dig out that spare chicken wire and make them a mini model instead. That is if there hasn't already been a 3D Marauder Shields cake produced by the cupcake movement ...
Hope this works out. I really did want to buy one of those overpriced hoodies.

What Asari Massage lounge!
And as to the blue babies, I'm right there with you, I'm even writing a fanfic, taking the exsiting ending (the destroy with half breathe) and going from there, with my Shep waking up after being out for a minute, and having a "vision" of what might happen, and then she gets pulled up by Garrus and the blue hotty Liara, and makes her way to the Citadel Counduit thing, and has ther ground team and some of the Hammer forces with her... Oh and Grunt and Wrex, cause nobody, and I mean nobody messes with my Krogan buddies
