There's always been a lot of writers, they just come out of the woodwork now more than ever because the antithesis of space magic called to them.  :wizard:

LoL, i write in italian too. ;)
Done a little fan-story of me3 but i haven't liked it too much, the italian "version" of me series lose something within the "translation"

That sucks.  I didn't know that.  Did they not translate it properly?

I think a lot of us are trying to fix the endings just to take the sting away a little.  And if they don't actually fix the endings (not clarify) then I'll just stick to a proper ending befitting my Shep and be done with it.  Though in reality I shouldn't have to do their job to have a pleasurable experience with the end of an awesome trilogy. <_<

It is true - people were getting messages from their LI after they finished the game - something about hopefully letting them down to come see them - hinting about Shepard in the hospital etc.

but who ever thought just releasing it on an Ipad - that was dumb - it should of been released for android and windows also......

Suddenly instead of 1% of your audence has this app for PR - suddenly 100% has the chance to get it.....that's just PR failing badly there.....

The problem with all this, using Ipad apps, twitter and even comics/books is that it leads to huge holes in the actual game.

why the hell is Udina councillor?? - oh , Andersson stepped down in one of the books..

where is Emily wong? oh, killed in twitter

Who the hell is Kai Leng? Oh, appears in some comic/book

Etc, etc. Nothing of this is then actually discussed in the game.

Books and comics and apps should be for widening and deepening a game setting, not cut out important information from a game itself.

Thus ends todays rant of yours truly...

I agree, I had read the books so I recognized him immediatly but.... My afterthought from seeing him the first time was "aren't they going to introduce him to people?"

Then they totally mention stuff like Grayson without even telling people who he is... total facepalm. They have a weird mix of stuff put in for big fans whove read everything and at the same time, dumbing some of it down to incorporate new people.... I don't get it.

Weren't these messages confirmed to appear at the start of a new game and meaning "come down to see you" in the brig?

I don't recall bioware "official" explain this.

If you don't have answers.... you can always think of Space Magic Actions. <_<

I have the app and the only messages I've received are from during the game. Admittedly I have been trying to slog my way through a second playthrough so maybe that is overriding the final messages of the game I finished? There are messages saying to go and see certain crewmates but that's on the Normandy.

Should be released for Xbox / Ps3 too.

No it was outside game app for the Ipad - that could easily been ported to android and windows - they still not saying when it will happen - because right now - no one cares if it is - because of the ending.  Which is really sad as its supposed to be a pretty cool app.

I refuse to buy anything Apple as I have to deal with their stuff at work and it is a nightmare at times, plus old school PC I have this hate for all things apple :)

Its an app for tablets and I think it can be used on phones too.......so it wouldn't work on xbox 360 or ps3......or make sense to be released on there.

I understand what you're saying - and more clariifcation should of been done - I agree  Kai Leng was in a couple books - but to be fair - information is there just not right in front of us :)

It's not about the translation, or maybe not only because of that.
I've read manga for some years... after reading some english translated i've seen the truth about them, when they translate if for italian some line text will be changed.... and we lose something about english, like way to talk or hidden truth/words. I call this thing... "read between the lines", for the same thing i prefer to see films and telefilms within english subs. I haven't really played ME in english, so i cannot say how much we've lost... however i'm pretty sure that some "word joke" and "way to speak" are lost, mostly because in Italy we have other word joke and way to speak, however if they translate it literally it will cause people to "begin" to know some of the english/american word joke and more. It happens with everything i've seen in english language and then translated, like some books too :)

Let's say that we have questionable people translating content, not only in games...

Edit: Mass Effect in italian is not bad compared to other games, but it's pretty bad compared to the original VO (I play in English, but my brother plays in Italian and it's painful to listen to it sometimes)

Yeah, as someone who hasn't read the books/comics I was quite confused that this stuff wasn't explained.

And yet when I met that scientist guy from Project Overlord (I've done Overlord, but it turns out I hadn't done it on the save I was using for ME3) I had to listen for about five minutes while he explained the whole plot of Overlord. I didn't mind it at the time but it didn't really have any bearing on what happened next.

People have posted the messages they've gotten on the app - :D  so just going off that but more than one have said they've gotten those messages after they finished the game.

Yup, it's like missing "something".... it's hard to really explain it completly....  (Maybe because of my crappy english too).
For that i'm "searching" a way to play ME 1/2/3 English, i need to search if i can change language within my ME games on xbox, don't remember if i can do something like that... me3 i can use the original english audio, the subs will help too probably.

I think part of the problem is also how much can be lost in translation. When I watch something in Dutch and they have english subtitles I always wince a bit because while the words are a correct translation, they don't fully grasp the meaning.

As far as I know you need the UK copy to play ME1&2 in English :/
ME2 DLCs (and Pinnacle Station I think) are multilanguage though

Your english is fine.  I know what your talking about.  I had that problem when I was doing linguistics studies.  Something that would be funny in Japanese wouldn't make sense either because of culture or the context didn't make sense with the translation.  I can commiserate.

Too literal for some translations.
