@silencemayday  I've had problems like that before with my writing so it's no biggie at all.  People are going to be the way they are can't change it even if I want to beat them to death for bludgeoning me over the head with their ideals.
Thought someone would like that saying.  Use it in good health.  :wizard:

@Nharia1  I'm more of a sensory writer.  It's a strange title I gave myself.  It puts the reader almost in the character's shoes.  Strangely enough, I've never been accused of ever going overboard with the descriptions or scenes.:o

@jerobolod  Well thank you kindly!  :kissing:  I think I'm just an odd duck.  LOL!  I just sit and write without forethought to the story.  I just go where the mind carries me.  We'll call it magic.:o  Or a touch of insanity.  Pick your poison.

Well I never said you went overboard~! I actually like it to be honest~! :D

You're very welcome, I calls them like I see them. Although I don't call it magic :wizard: or insanity :o

From my perspective it's just normal :D

i HATE reading the origonal scripts.
reason is there much better because they show you all the missing dialog, missing MISSIONS missing cutscenes, seeing javik die as he's reveled to be the catalyst
but i also read a script from october 2010 showing that the endings were already in place and remained the same throughout the developing of the game, so yeah we got screwed over

You know you actually point out a really good point. Even in ME1 FemShep could be with Liara, yet it wasn't (now please correct me if I am wrong) until ME3 that the MaleShep could have a gay romance. How exactly is that fair?

That's something that was actually pretty awesome about DA2 to be honest, you could be any sex and still romance the LI's you wanted.

Cannot you do gay romance in me2?  Never tried it ... however i don't really remember if you can do it on me2 or not.

I don't think so, I could be wrong though like I said.

Ahem, since DJBare hasn't said anything recently I'll assume he isn't here, so I'll take over.
Please do not post pics, use links don't embed the pictures in the posts. It clutters the thread, and also it could cause us to get shut down.

DJBare isnt here? But who will I get my news from, now?

As of right now Mr. Bond is out at the moment, I'm sure he will be around soon.

Writing has to be part insanity, part creativity, part emotion with a dash of magic.

Otherwise you get the ending to ME3 with all space magic and an angry fanbase.

we just penned a BRAND NEW saying when something is so badly ended

"oh god they did an ME3"
AND
"its better than the ending of mass effect 3£

yep, johnathon ross used it lol

johnathon ross is a big tv star here in the uk whos an avid gamer and a manga / anime lover

Johnathon Ross actually said that? really? wow....

Wasn't someone trying to contact him from here about ME3?

Re; Fan-fic;

The argument that 'Fan-fic' is somehow not 'writing' sort of falls flat, it is after all the basis for every-single one of the Star Wars extended universe books and comics, the Star Trek books, Warhammer's Black library, Halo's books, World of Warcraft books...and of course the Mass Effect books. Some of the SW, ST, WH and WoW books are litrally several fan stories packaged together.

actually if used properly it  can  be great teaching to and learning tool. You  as writer don't have to worry so much about building the  story universe and characters because they are already there.  What you can  focus on is structure of the plot, how it  flows and if it makes sense.  Working  on how to keep a character in character  and yet have them grow within   what is established.   Kind  like Mordin and   his Genophage work

So are there two basic defenses to use against us:

-We're whining
-The game is art

Am I right? That's basically it? I mean when it boils down to it, I think that's all the other camp can do to counter the movement. We're sitting here on all the facts about why it's horrifyingly bad.. I don't see anyone trying to disprove our points. This whole thing is so one-sided it's embarrassing.

Everything about those two sentences is so full of win my head might just explode from awesomeness!

I always like to say being a writer is being crazy enough to say "I reject your reality and substitute my own" and then actually going off and doing that.

The link in my sig goes to a podcast between myself and a friend who actually liked the ending. If I remember correctly he didn't call me a whiner or the game art. It was a really fascinating discussion really.

But yes, that mostly seems to be what the argument boils down to at this point.

Yeah, those are the ramblings of an insomniac running on fumes.  It's amazing how witty you can be when exhausted.  Then you realize your internal filter doesn't work.:innocent:

I do original works as well.  Working on getting a publishing deal right now for a book series. *crosses fingers*

I don't think my internal filter has ever worked, but I do notice it a lot more when I haven't slept...

Good luck with getting published! If you ever get a movie deal going and need a screenwriter for the adaptation...
