I think they are using him as a way to lull the audience because most people don't have a problem with him.  If they sent Mac or Casey it could get ugly fast.

Lol...I could just immagine some random PAX organizer/official in the corner of the room when Mac or worse yet, Casey walk out onto the stage or whatever.

"Oh boy...this will end badly."

Might be best to have first responders on stand-by.

Does anyone else think they are just trying to build suspense in anticipation for a big reveal at PAX?

I certainly hope this won't happen but I fear it's likely. Alas, all it takes is visable and highly publiciced 'nerd rage' to discredit us all and paint us with the same brush. In fact, hoping we lost our cool and freaked out en mass was a part of the PR strategy in the hope that everyone will dismiss us, and with tempers riding high after a couple weeks with no word, I have a bad feeling an impatient/radical few are going to bring everything we've worked for thus far down around our ears.

But heres hoping level heads will prevail and, if Twitter's any indication, we can resist their thinly veiled barbs and keep our wits about us 'til we get what we want. Remember, at this point we're still winning, let's not do anything to jeopardize things now. I'd admonish everyone to stick together and stand as one, but that should be par for the course if they actually are holding the line and not just saying it cause it sounds cool.

You know what will happen?  Those that rage will get tossed out fast - create the counter bad publicty they kinda are hoping for.....

That's why walking out - raging - all that is a bad idea.......You go in with questions - ask them calmly and prove your points - don't be an @ss about it......then sit and listen.....

That will do more than anything......

I honestly hope you're right. I'll gladly look like a gullible idiot if it means we get the ending the series deserves.

But I don't trust twitter.

Neither do I. And that message can easilly mean one of two things. Either A yes we have been suckered, or B we're all gonna be royally pissed off when they say at PAX "No we're not changing anything."

This?
https://twitter.com/...773431198355459

See, I don't see why they would bother making posts and official statements implying that the ending was the final ending if it wasn't. That would be just...not smart. It would imply now that the ending was final, but now they will deny it just so they can look smart...but that's just me.

Here, another one

 https://twitter.com/...773431198355459

P.S. don't take what ME account says; it isn't always true...actually, it almost never is.

I think if we were suckered the whole time the forums might go nuclear.  Whatever their ace in the hole is it better be good.

(see, I can speculate, too.)

It seems they had the main theme of the ending (organics vs synthetics) planned from the beginning.

Only after certain someone left the writing team ;)

No, this is talking about way back when they were writing ME1. If you read it, you'll notice Drew is still on the team, and that they're developing the plot for the entire trilogy.

Exactly. There have been too many open-ended, intentionally cryptic twitter posts for my tastes. It just seems like they're trying really hard to keep everyone utterly in the dark about whatever it is they're doing. (Or not doing.)

Hopefully all of the Retake Mass Effect supporters who'll be there will be able to stay calm and civil while waiting for the announcement

This is such a great movement ($80,000 for charity, 400 cupcakes, $4,000 or more for Full Paragon) I would hate to have people remember it negatively

It's going to be hard to prove that this was always planned. Even if a "new ending" was planned, all this happened out of a rushed schedule, and not as a big nice plan.

If it was planned, it's the worst kind of stunt in the history of marketing. It will make people more angry if it was planned than if it was changed.

Again, it's gonna be very hard to believe that this wasn't done because of schedule problems. If (!) it was always planned that way.

lol wtf, beat ME3 again on insanity/7000ems but Javik and Liara came out of the Normandy when I took Liara and Garrus...

I'm confused...

Same happened to me lol funny thing too, I never used Javik in my first play through.

Hmm...maybe it's telling us something--I remember an early rumor that we should take Javik on with us for the final push

EDIT: Dang it, posted inside the quote again.

I'll admit to playing it again, though the ending is still a disappointment. Used the same character, though went back to Kaidan instead of returning to Garrus. Took EDI and Liara in the end, yet
Kaidan and Garrus were on the ship later.

I seriously hope that wasn't a hint at Mass Effect 4, carrying over these endings.

They make it feel that way after reading this tweet

twitter.com/#!/masseffect/status/184773431198355459

But I don't think it's worth getting worked up over non-official and completely ambiguous statements like those.

If it was all planned all along, this is the worst possible execution.

And how can there be more games in the ME universe if all the technology (primarily relays) are destroyed no matter what happens?

There is no way that twitter post means what people think it means.  That would be incredibly un-professional of Bioware to handle things up to this point and then come out saying they planned this all along.

I, for one, am going to be royally ticked if they give us new endings... then treat the current endings as canon for ME4.

AS I said before .If CD PROJECT can do for Wticher 2 fans and change endings and give extra 2 hours content per good/evil character and 30 min of extra cut scenes ,surely they can do it for us.

Little late to the party here chaps, finished ME3 a week ago. Now sat with a newly broken leg and finally have time to comment. Nothing new to add, hated the ending, have ranted more than is healthy. Anyway, this is the SSV London reporting for duty and ready to hold the line. Have copious amounts of tea and grapes.

It seems a lot of us did not get "Last in the trilogy" means a continuation, but if they mean the last in Shepards story then that will make me a little nervous, going from warden to DAII was not at all inspiring.

If ME3 ending was supposed to be what we got, just for the sake of it being a transition to another ME "trilogy" (or whatever), it's an even bigger disrespect. Of all the possibilities, even the bad ones, this is the worst. So, now you can release something that bad just because you want to keep the fans "energized" so you can make more money with a new game? Not just a dlc, but another game? And Shepard's story can end like that so you can make a "bridge" to another series?

That would be really, really annoying!!!
