It seems a lot of us did not get "Last in the trilogy" means a continuation, but if they mean the last in Shepards story then that will make me a little nervous, going from warden to DAII was not at all inspiring.

That's what I've always understood. Shepard is done at the end of ME3, but there will be more games in the ME universe.

AS I said before .If CD PROJECT can do for Wticher 2 fans and change endings and give extra 2 hours content per good/evil character and 30 min of extra cut scenes ,surely they can do it for us.

I know, right? Come on, Bioware....
but wait, Cd Projekt isn't under EA....

Same here. That would be like offering us hope and then sticking the knife in all over again.

This?

See, I don't see why they would bother making posts and official statements implying that the ending was the final ending if it wasn't. That would be just...not smart. It would imply now that the ending was final, but now they will deny it just so they can look smart...but that's just me.

Here, another one

 https://twitter.com/...773431198355459

P.S. don't take what ME account says; it isn't always true...actually, it almost never is.

If they're going to go back on it now they're going to find the community comes back with a much less forgiving vengeance... I'm talking cancelled preorders, all out boycotts, contacting new partners like Sega and threatening boycotts on them for selling on EA's Origin platform.

They're not going to be that stupid lol, they're concerned enough about boycotts to have them on their 10-Q risks.  I know the majority of my facebook page has quieted down because of a single idea "Oh well, they're fixing the ending, no point getting upset over it yet".  That from people who didn't really agree with the whole RME movement to start with.

They may not be coming out and changing the endings (though I don't see how they're going to do anything without not destroying the relays) but if they stray from what Mr Muzyka's open letter stated then the good faith and general respect for the Bioware brand will have been indelibly tarnished and the EA brand will suffer as a result of that as well.  You can spend a lifetime building up a reputation, but you can lose it all in an instant... they're not going to risk that.. it's part of why their statements have been so ambiguous to this point.  They don't want to offer something and not be able to deliver on it later. Me either. I'll buy the new endings, happily play them out, and pretend Mass Effect ended there. No ME4 for me in this case.

I'll admit to playing it again, though the ending is still a disappointment. Used the same character, though went back to Kaidan instead of returning to Garrus. Took EDI and Liara in the end, yet
Kaidan and Garrus were on the ship later.

Same here. Played through my second Shepard on Insanity a few days ago, though the ending is, like you said, still a major disappointment. I brought Tali and Garrus with me to the Conduit for old times' sake so we could all three die together, but then Tali and Javik came out of the Normandy.

Seriously, is BioWare trying to tell us something about Javik? Image IPB

what gets me is that top end game developers changed the endings of games and in some cases added even more stuff and even more content.
if bioware do jack chit then they lied through there teeth about taking criticism and listening to the "core fans".
there attitude sucks at times and with the amount of cryptic messages on twitter across ALL bioware accounts and even there own PAX staff refuse to aknowlage the DLC.
if they go back on there word i bet everyone will be singing this song

*Shrugs*

No real evidence for, no evidence against...so I'm just going to sit back and wait to see what is said at PAX. About the only thing that might lead me to think this was all a VERY badly handled PR stunt (or just a case of being unable to finish a decent ending in the development time they had) is that one of the guys at Forbes speculated it was during the online chat.

However all the 'evidence' I've seen is inconclusive either way, and it is depressingly easy to pick apart anything that has been said and use to to defend just about any theory - even 'we never intended to change the ending' could be taken to mean 'We just didn't give you the full ending yet...'

If it was a case of BW holding back a full ending, most likely because it wasn't finished - something that would be supported by hints that some desired endings couldn't be implemented due to serious technical glitches. Then the 'joke' would be on Bioware rather than us, since they rather clearly badly underestimated the reaction and sales have clearly suffered as a result.

*Sighs*

No matter what is said at PAX the only positive things that will probably come out of this mess will be a weakening of the power of many review sites, as well as what I imagine will be the rather alarming warning to the games industry about the potential power of their customers...And quite how much financial and reputational damage they are capable of doing to even the largest companies if you make them promises you fail to keep.

Yeah, because it's not like they haven't done that before right? I guess they learned that people have memories longer than a goldfish.XD

At this point, with all the media they've been recieving regarding a new/altered/clarified ending I don't really think they have a choice. They are going to have to do something, or risk completely alienating their customers, and a portion of the gaming media.

As will I.  This, of course, is under the assumption that they will change anything at all.  If they don't, then I simply will ignore the current ending, imagine my own, and subsequently not make any more purchases from Bioware or EA.

We never said we were changing it  (we ARE changing it.. we just never said it) - pretty much what I got out of that *snickers*

Also I got "We like cupcakes.  Send more plz.  Reward for best improved beats no reward for stellar quality.  Take that Bethesda." and "Game of the Year Edition will be you waking up from this indoctrination".

Not sure how much I read between the lines there, especially with that second half. *snickers* Image IPB

If it was all planned all along, this is the worst possible execution.

And how can there be more games in the ME universe if all the technology (primarily relays) are destroyed no matter what happens?

Yeah, it's pretty sad, but that's kind of what I'm hoping for. :) Even though I'm pretty sure that - according to the Indoc Theory, at least - I picked the wrong choice (synthesis) the first time around.
