Plus I was a Pokemon kid rather than a Digimon one...Digimon was on TV at 8am on Sunday, so I wasn't always in the mood to wake up early to watch it. :P

I think even the ending of Digimon (I thought it was bittersweet at the time) was better than the ending of ME3...

Is it sad that I'm not surprised by this in the least?

I always thought some of the conspiracies made sense.  Disturbing if true.

You've all got to read this comment in response to the New Yorker article:

"As a former member of the mainstream game industry who has since made the jump to academia, I take strong exception to the implication that being pretentious and disconnected from the fanbase is a valid approach to game-making. Well over a hundred of my students are currently working in the industry, several of them at Bioware, and I'm looking forward to talking to them at conferences this year about why *they* think their studio forgot the single most important rule of successful game development: know and respect your players, because you're building their game, not yours.

"Studios live and die by their reputation among their fans, and in this case, Bioware's hamfisted attempt at an "arty" ending (or perhaps their rushed hack job to meet a marketing-driven publisher's deadline) has alienated their core demographic and in so doing could well cost them tens of millions now in the future. Fortunately, Bioware's leadership has been intelligent enough to ignore snobs like Mr. Clark and taken the entirely reasonable step of declaring their intent to revise their ending to meet the expectations of their fans. I applaud their decision, and their respect for those that regularly shell out $60-80 a pop on their games."

Another good article about the end and everything: http://doycetesterma...rtistic-process

I have sent my friend (who is also a mass effect fan) dozens of ME3-ending related articles, and this was his favorite one.  Very enjoyable and entertaining.

Wow - excellent!

"...while 99% of the game was the same top-notch, engaging, tear-inducing stuff that we’ve come to expect, the last five minutes or so is a steaming, Hersey’s Kiss-sized dollop of dog **** that you are forced to ingest at the conclusion of the meal, like a mint, before they let you out the door."

Never has the ending been so precisely described. ^_^

Didn't see this posted over the last few pages - Forbes' Dave Thier puts that condescending New Yorker article in context
In case you didn't read the New Yorker article (take a Valium first...)

Bumping this in case you missed it. Remember that the Forbes bloggers decide what to address next based in part on page views, so encourage their continued support by clicking the link!

OTOH, click the New Yorker link only if you just have to read it. But trust me -- you will be insulted.

Good read. He gets it.

you know, I was listening to slacker radio on my phone last night and there was a comedian Christian Finnegan who told a joke where the punchline was around the lines of : You know when someone has told you a stupid story when it all just ends with " And then I was just like...pffffffft" that is when you know that chunk of your life is gone.

That is how BioWare ended Mass Effect

Then god-kid was just like....pfffffffffffffffft

I was curious to see the reaction--what if the ME3 conclusion was in the format of a comic book, like the one that accompanied ME2? Would that upset the fans? I have no idea how I would react to that. Note, this is just speculation, I am just as clueless as the rest of you all.

I would destroy all my Bioware products in a fit of rage...the fans don't want an explantion of crappy writing, we want an ending Mass Effect 3 deserves. But if they do that...my rage will have no end and I will not buy anymore products from them. I am sure a lot of people would do that same.

If they brought out the conclusion of ME3 in comic book form I would be extremely pi**ed off. I never read comics, nor do I ever intend on buying them. If they did do this, I would most definitley never buy another thing from BW.

Yea, they combined the short one with the giant Agumon and little Taichi and Hikari (Tai and Kari) with the movie that that clip was from. The third film they smooched in there was the one with the 02 kids, Terriermon, and the corrupted Cocomon. The third one got the shaft in that mess, the first and second came out ok though.

When I was younger, I owned the official video of that smooched up mess. I was obsessed with both Digimon and Pokemon. I didn't even realize how much was cut out back then...

After watching the original ****** Digimon at an older age, I thought it was better and stuck with subs ever since. I still likes Digimon. Pokemon has gotten a little old though.

Black and White is horrible. I was glad Brock finally got the boot, because I thought it would let Ash act a little more competent, but nope. Losing to Paul was ok, at least he had a similar amount of experience to Ash, but Trip! Come on, he just got his first Pokemon, Ash should not be losing to him... I haven't watched since.

I still <3 the Pokemon games though~

Sorry for the off topic ramble XD
