(what do we have for the me3 third sales week?).

The figures for third week sales have not yet been released,

I wonder if the ending will affect the sales. I know it'll affect the DLC sales, Why add extra missions to a game (Overlord style) that are not going to make a difference when everyone dies at the end.

39 minutes video but totaly worth it. I saw it yesterday, once you get through the first minutes (dont skip them) you will see the guy has some strong points.
Please Bioware dont clarify the ending, just make it a mass effect ending.

Definitely worth a watch, he had me hooked the whole 39 minutes, his interjection of humour was balanced well, and boy did he hit the nail on the head.

A satisfying ending will affect sales. Long-term sales are important for games. It may be that first one or two weeks making the most impressive (or the least) sale numbers, but the other sales following after altogether might overrun the nu,bers for first two. Anyways, check out the sales for other famous games.
And yes, especially if DLCs are planned to make some market too - the most controversial points of the main good should be covered before/with pushing out the next goods of the series.

Another 'not quite about ME3' link, although we are named in it.

Ever wondered why Forbes has been covering the ME3 story so well, considering it is better known as a financial magazine? Well the following link should explain it. Turns out that Forbes has been in the middle of rebranding itself over the 20 months...Oh, and if anyone asks why Forbes commenting on the ME3 ending debate is so important. Turns out that they had 30 MILLION unique hits on their website in a month...

http://www.forbes.co...-news-business/

Well they are reporting the news better than anyone else concerning the ME 3 mess. They deserve the amount of hits they got.

Wait whats this video on Forbes? 5 Leadership lessons from Captain Kirk?
Okay they are going crazy.

As I've noted elsewhere in this thread, games show a consistant pattern of sales.

The first two weeks of sales seem to be from people who were always intending to get the game - the first week sales are typically from the most devoted players and pre-orders. Then games typically show a sharp drop of between 70-80% in the second week as the last of those people who were intending to get the game manage to get to the shops (or the money) and buy.

Now from the third week onwards the sales do one of two things. They either raise slightly/remain fairly stable or they continue dropping like a stone. This appears to be purely down to word of mouth spreading about a title. For example DA:O's sales figures from week 3 onwards show increasing sales - in fact I think the week 5 sales figures were higher than for week 2's - and these figures remained stable for something like 6 weeks. DA2 however showed high first and second week sales, then the sales continued dropping - DA:O, which wasn't marketed anything like as heavily as DA2, was outselling it from the third week onwards. (Total sales on the X-Box were 2.26 million copies of DA:O...and 0.9 million for DA2)

Basically a game that is badly recieved by gamers will not sell well after the second week as word of mouth spreads...And the current ending of ME3 is not resulting in good word of mouth.

to DJBare, i think your posts and listings are only good, including telling us to be civil and calm down, some people need to be reminded in case their critique just turns into anger, and i dont see anyone else doing it better then her majesty's most trusted agent.
Someone needs to sort out this lovely bunch of people :P

I think the last part applies nicely to Bioware, blow up the star kid and move on!

I'll admit to playing it again, though the ending is still a disappointment. Used the same character, though went back to Kaidan instead of returning to Garrus. Took EDI and Liara in the end, yet
Kaidan and Garrus were on the ship later.

Same here. Played through my second Shepard on Insanity a few days ago, though the ending is, like you said, still a major disappointment. I brought Tali and Garrus with me to the Conduit for old times' sake so we could all three die together, but then Tali and Javik came out of the Normandy.

Seriously, is BioWare trying to tell us something about Javik? Image IPB

Not sure. I romanced Garrus first time around, took him and Javik at the end, yet it was Garrus and James that walked out of the ship later. I've heard there were rumors that you should take Javik with you on the final push, but so far that is just a rumor, as far as I know.

If anyone hasn't watch this yet, do it.  He nails it.

One of the things I've noticed about this whole controversy is the breakdown of the series from a literary perspective (the vid above even uses Socrates).  As a scientist, it really is encouraging to see in-depth critical analysis applied to a video game.  I never thought I'd see this ever happen.

After watching all those videos on youtube by Archengeia, MrBtongue, JeremyJahns, AngryJoeShow and whoever else, I just wish we could get BioWare to watch them as well and actually listen to what they have to say. (Maybe they already did, who knows)
These guys have such good ideas and give so much constructive criticism. I just cannot understand why those ideas weren't used in the first place. If WE, the fans, can come up with them within a few hours/days....why couldn't they? Or if they did, why would they discard them?....
Excuse my rambling...it's just so very frustrating considering how epic the ending could have been. :(

They are either sitting in a room with their fingers in their ears shouting "LA LA LA LA LA" or they have something epic planned.
