What's with the "German proverb" in the headline?

The phrase 'Charity see the need, not the cause' is an old german proverb.

Oh.. uhm...yes...I.. I knew that.

Watching that 39 minute video.
Seems to be interesting!

Wow that one is really good! Then again... most vids analysing the endings are. They seem to focus on different aspects of why the endings suck, but they are all legit!

As i realize that trhis thread begins to "slow down", I wanted to ask you guys: Is there reason to keep my hopes up? Or shall i bury ME 3, forget about it and move on to other games? Not sure if all this desperatly waiting is really worth it now? I mean- considering all what was promised- doesnt it all point at ME 3 staying as it is more likely?

Everyone is waiting for PAX the movement hasn't lost any speed, in fact its picking up more. Just because Threads are slowing doesn't mean anything. People have responsibilities and can only get on to check progress.

I think with the amount of coverage this game has received through media outlets they have to respond however, they may just continue with the clarifying aspect and not worry about the ending altogether. I hope that they address the fan base that put them on the map by working on the ending or they will lose much of the core of their fan base.

SWOR is not performing as well as they hoped.
That is why EA stock is taking battering.
It held fora long time despite ofcthst but finally chinks in the armour are appearing ....
It was bound to happened. Costs of SWOR 500 mln dollars.
Isane.
And game is not that great.

Yeah...for a game they said wouldn't be like wow, they said. Is EXACTLY like wow but with a star wars feel with some talky bits. They made it sound so revolutionary but it really isn't <_< That alone will have stock lost now lets add what is happening to Mass Effect 3...Bioware and EA are in a bad place.

One more reason why I think they should have just developed KOTOR 3 instead; the same incredible universe and storytelling but with Mass Effect style graphics and dialogue.  Sure it would have been very similar to ME, but it would have been widely accepted (and anticipated); a shame that all that effort was squandered over a clunky MMO.

Manveer Heir's response: Well I think that is incorrect personally.

He thinks the green is the "best".

There is simply not going to be any end changing content. Get this into your heads.

No. You know nothing.

That may be the case.

But it doesn't change the fact there will be NO ENDING DLC.

Ikr, they should have just made KOTOR 3 and so on...this MMO storytelling isn't that good and is just bad. I was one of those people who was excited for it, was for a bit, then I started analyzing it during gameplay and was just disappointed.

Agree played it through the story.  Not really all that bad of a story just MMO aspects were very lame and boring felt more like doing a job then actually having fun playing.  BTW PVP on ilum was terrible when you had more anything above 20 players

I know I'm probably going to get pelted with eggs, but I enjoy SWTOR, and so does my husband. We group together and have multiple characters in the 40 range in both LS and DS. However, I am sad that there won't be a KOTOR 3. Although things were 'wrapped up' crappily in The Sith Lords, I still enjoyed both games very much and want more.

Ilum was straight up broken...how did they think that was a good idea? Usually servers are imbalanced and that kind of open world is terrible...just like Mass Effects ending (Keeping post relevant)

You're just a pessimist with no facts to back your assumptions.

So again. No. You know nothing and you're acting foolish.

So Manveer Heir thinks that Either Saren or TIm is right? So he is telling us we should have just joined with Saren IN ME and skipped the last two games?  Besides from the a gameplay mechanincs standpoint when does needing the most EMS equal the worst ending? That is just stupid

No can't pelt you because it is good but just didn't live up to the hype they tried to set. It does it's job but just didn't live up to a lot of people, me included.

I haven't replayed ME3 at all. Haven't even started a NG+.

I had 30+ playthroughs of ME1. That number alone makes me realize just how disappointed I am.

Hey, guys - let's not squabble with one another, okay? Everybody's frustrated, but arguing amongst ourselves doesn't help anything. Take a deep breath and let's keep doing our thing.

Tangentially related:

That tweet by Manveer Heir is actually really interesting. I 'got' that Synthesis was supposed to be viewed as the 'Best' ending because it's the one that requires the most points, but I hadn't really connected that with how irritated people have been that you can't get the 'Shepard Lives' stinger off the Destroy ending unless your EMS is even higher. The obvious implication there is that Bioware assumed wrong, and the ending fans actually consider the best is the one where Shepard lives. Surprise, surprise.

Yeah, I was going to go back throught and have a Best possible outcome character, but it doesn't really change anything, so I guess not.

Personally, I don't think the ending has a ton of inconsistencies; it just isn't presented well.  At all.  I can forgive "omission" plot holes over logical failures, though.

Doesn't make it right, though.

well if people are thinking our cupcake (or fairy cakes as there called in the uk) as a bribe then so be it,

first we were all disgruntled angry comsumers
UNLIKE other protests which the people concerned are all going ape chit and violent we were the exact opposite.

first we started a protest about the ending
next we raised 80 grand for a kids charity, which caught world wide news attention which gave us coverage.

we got a condicending open letter from a co-founder of bioware calling us "entitled brats" and various other slurs and that ME3 was "ART".

in return we have shown lots of mid to high profile websites reporting on mass effect 3 and shows the co-founder in a negative light and also goes into indepth reporting about the games ending by VERY inforative reporters and posts us in a positive light

the fans (myself included) then started a letter campain which we were all civil, we all told bioware that we loved the game but the ending did not fit into the mass effect universe in any way, shape or form.

next after childs play asked us to stop we then started a 2nd charity drive which has also got us publicity and so far raised lots of money.

next we then started an email campagn again showing our disapproval of the ending, the disapproval of the co-founders remarks directed towards a vast majority of the core fansbase.

we then decided to pull the cupcake campagn, THIS is one which cannot be beaten.
402 cakes, ALL the same flavour, 3rd red, 3rd blue and 3rd green with letters A,B,C on top.

WE raised the money ourself to make the order and which will be delivered by tomorrow or friday inside the boxes of cakes will be letters from us to bioware.

THIS is not a bribe but to show them that we are NOT ENTITLED BRATS but MATURE ADULTS who hold no grudge (well some of us dont but thats another story) and yet support them in making the game better.

but we also want an actual clear yes or no answer if they are either adding or changing the ending "clarifying" is a double edged sword which can be taken a good or bad way, if they do it in a way they want then we might see a huge backlash of pure hatred towards bioware but if the compromise and put in extra endings or even reinstate the origona ending then they would have gained the support of EVERYONE including the press for actually listening to the consumers of there product.

so yes in the space of 20 days (it was released on the 9th in the uk) we have done a LOT for charity and for ourselves.

we have also listed other companys who changed there endings because of fan backlash, some changed the ending of the game entierly and offered an apology to the fansfor there mistake.

so yes let the cupcake bombardment of bioware begin, at least they will now have something to munch on while they fix the game, who knows they might release an update which gives us a TON of free add-ons like weapons, alternative apperance for free.

but again, guya and gals, good job and i hope we get what we are all really wanting

Riiiiiiight.....logical...
I'd like them to explain that logic to me, please. Oh wait...don't bother...we all know there is none to be found.

But everyone is entitled to their opinion, I guess. ^_^
