I was planning of going through all 3 games before I replayed 3 again...then I got to the ending...now I am here :P

Yeah, I was going to go back throught and have a Best possible outcome character, but it doesn't really change anything, so I guess not.

I'm just completely unmotivated; I believe it may be because I feel that either Shepard's story isn't done (DLC), or it isn't done enough.  Without the closure, I don't feel an end, so, it is as if I'm still waiting to finish my game.

Also they think the ending "absolutely logical".

Well we don't really care, though. The good part about this movement is its ability to take punches from these places and simply not care. I mean if they think the endings make sense, they're essnetially making fun of themselves anyway.

Personally, I don't think the ending has a ton of inconsistencies; it just isn't presented well.  At all.  I can forgive "omission" plot holes over logical failures, though.

Doesn't make it right, though.

Watch these vids and that should make u angry about the ending :P

Hey, guys - let's not squabble with one another, okay? Everybody's frustrated, but arguing amongst ourselves doesn't help anything. Take a deep breath and let's keep doing our thing.

Tangentially related:

That tweet by Manveer Heir is actually really interesting. I 'got' that Synthesis was supposed to be viewed as the 'Best' ending because it's the one that requires the most points, but I hadn't really connected that with how irritated people have been that you can't get the 'Shepard Lives' stinger off the Destroy ending unless your EMS is even higher. The obvious implication there is that Bioware assumed wrong, and the ending fans actually consider the best is the one where Shepard lives. Surprise, surprise.

doesn't that tell you how clueless bioware is if they did not think fans would consider the ending that REQUIRES the MOST EMS and features the protaganist of the series LIVING as the best outcome...such as it is anyway

Same here, I've played a bit of multiplayer in the weeks since I first got the ending and that's about it. Thinking about starting a NG+ just makes me sad, 'cause I already know how depressed I'll be again, once I get to the ending. It's a shame really, the rest of ME3 is so enjoyable..But I just can't get myself to do it :(

I think this video sums up what the majority of us feel about the ending to mass effect 3.  ALERT there is some strong language so if you prefer not to hear swearing you might not want to watch this video.

Not to be mean - even though I'm gonna be - but GameStar has lost a lot of its good reputation and quality in the past few years. Their ratings have - for the longest time - been strange, favouring certain games, omitting or down-talking problems. As much as they'd like many of their readers make to believe, they're not as unbiased as they say they are. I even think that the GameStar writers are the worst editorial staff when it comes to opinionated game reviews and objectivity. Then again, that's only my opinion. But I'm glad I stopped buying that magazine years ago.

Anyway, SSV Rostock reporting in and still holding the line, waiting for the PAX announcement (im)patiently. :)

Perhaps I'm nt being clear.  I'm not saying it's DUMB writing, I'm saying it's BAD writing.  It may be splittng hairs, but there is a difference ;)  Could the Citadel make its way to Earth somehow?  Of course; it'd take some explaining, but in a universe with Biotics and faster-than-FTL travel, things can occur that seem abnormal.  Nothing "illogical" about that.  BUT THEY DON"T EXPLAIN IT.  Hence, not dumb, just bad. :wizard:

39 minutes video but totaly worth it. I saw it yesterday, once you get through the first minutes (dont skip them) you will see the guy has some strong points.
Please Bioware dont clarify the ending, just make it a mass effect ending.

This guy also nails it...worth a good watch

Great vid.  Love when videos use the Benny hill music.  Just exudes buffoonery:wizard:

I know I'm probably going to get pelted with eggs, but I enjoy SWTOR, and so does my husband. We group together and have multiple characters in the 40 range in both LS and DS. However, I am sad that there won't be a KOTOR 3. Although things were 'wrapped up' crappily in The Sith Lords, I still enjoyed both games very much and want more.

No can't pelt you because it is good but just didn't live up to the hype they tried to set. It does it's job but just didn't live up to a lot of people, me included.

I think SWToR did not miss the boat as badly as the ME3 ending.  Personally, I enjoy playing SWToR, and the game has improved quite a bit since its initial release (far less annoying issues, but some still linger).

While I didn't have 30 playthroughs, I did beat the first game 7 times and the second one 6 times. But after going through ME3 once, I don't feel like playing any ME again; it's just not worth the time if the payoff is so hilariously bad.

KOTOR 2 was developed by Obsidian, and it no secret that they were forced to release the game when it was only 2/3rds finished. In fact the development team seem to have deliberatly included as much of the cut content on the game disk specifically so modders could attempt to restore it.

If you have a PC you can download a mod that restores a lot of the cut content;

Anyway.

SSV Mortis returning to the line after a supply run.

We'd like to know who gave our baby Krogen coffee while we were away. Come on, own up or the next shipment of coffee and cupcakes we bring in will be packaged in dirty nappies.

I agree, I was and still really want a KOTOR 3, as much as the ending to the 2nd one wasn't that great I enjoy both of them still.  I really like SWTOR but have canceled my subscription Image IPB  Am hoping that I will be able to start it up again soon (once ME3 endings are addressed appropriately.

I too actually enjoyed SWTOR, however, like you my subscription has been cancelled, and it's been a hard decision to keep, however, I am keeping it.  So I am with you in the  department on SWTOR.

I've been thinking about the endings again (mistake, I know...), and you know what? They make even less sense than I thought. I'll show you what I mean by comparing them to the leaked dark energy ending.

Current endings

Why did the Starchild bother with the reapers? If the problem was that organics and synthetics inevitably go to war, and if the Synthesis ending a) is something that stops that sort of conflict B) is something that the Starchild is willing to do and c) is something that the Starchild is capable of doing... why not just do it immediately instead of subjecting organic civilization to countless cycles of destruction and suffering? Why did it take Shepard showing up to get the Starchild to do it? Makes no sense.

Worse, why the heck do the three choice consoles exist on the Citadel at all? I mean, they're compatible with the Crucible. How does that make sense? Does that mean that whoever built the Starchild intended from the start that the reapers do their thing for millions of years, only to be stopped when organics discovered the way to activate the Starchild? That is, when they discovered the flaw that was built into the reaper plan? Does this mean that the Starchild intended for the Crucible to be built? Because the Citadel was designed for it. And doesn't that mean that they planned to do the cycles for millions of years, then do Synthesis eventually? Why not just do Synthesis from the start? Makes no sense.

Dark Energy Ending

This solves both problems. The choices at the end are to help the reapers try to fix the dark energy issue, or blow them all up and try to do it on our own. There is no Starchild, there is no intentional flaw in the reaper plan, there are no "choice consoles" built into the Citadel, and the reapers' best solution is the one they've been trying to do from the start. The Crucible has nothing to do with the reapers - it is the work of successive cycles of organics and cleverly used the Citadel as one of its components. Makes sense.

So... agh! What the hell, Bioware?
