Hay we are sending BioWare cupcakes they might stick a easter egg in the DLC about that or mention it at PAX?

Maybe BW will turn up with donuts for everyone listening to them at PAX?

I'd laugh my ass off then throw thing's at my screen when we have no ending DLC stuff!

CNN covered the ME3 ending a week or so back. During their (very brief) talk about the game they noted that the average age of a gamer in the US is...35.

Ive been wondering...

What exactly qualifies as a 'gamer'?  I mean, are we including the Farmville masses as gamers? Online poker gamers?

farmville and things arent classed as actual games but social simulators

real gamers are what you see here in this very thread, we play on colsoles, computers, handheld devices like a psp or even old school monochrome gameboy or even a sega gamegear

im no expert at stocks by any means...but fluctuation within the day is pretty normal isnt it?

And to think that one game from Bioware has the power to vastly alter EAs stocks in a single day...

I dont think it means, what people think it means..  lol

Errm, well one game from BW DID result in a drop in EA's share price - Star Wars; The Old Republic.

Back in Febuary EA had to admit that the game wasn't performing as well as predicted*. The result was a nose-dive in the EA share price. Since then EA shares have been wavering between $16-17, with of course the expected highs and lows at various points.

Of course SWTOR would affect the share price far more than ME3 would do, both because of its massive development costs ($200 million according to some sources) and because as an MMO it would be expected to bring in a lot money for a considerable length of time.

(*In fairness to both EA and BW this might have less to do with the game itself, and more to do with the predictions being too optimistic.)

Really, ever since EA took over, the series went to hell.

For all the good ME2 was, it still was a step down from ME1 in terms of RPG. not a really big step down, but one nonetheless.

Then ME3 rolls up and it's basically obvious they were trying to make it appeal to all those COD/BF players by cutting a lot of dialogue(Most evident with Ashley/Kaidan and a few others) and putting in more combat IE; endless waves of enemies(Even in STORY mode). It's still a good game, but with all the dialogue they cut and especially the godawful endings, it never lived up to it's true potential. Which is really depressing, if you think about it.

Honestly, EA is like the Oakland Raiders of game publishers; it's where good developers go to die.

Anyways, back to what's at hand, I'll be posting three things here today, Anderson's stuff from the end of the game, (for those who were on last night/this morning/whatever time, go back about 26+ pages if you want to know) Chapter Three of my Fanfic, and anything else that's pertinent to this thread.

Also anything happen while I was asleep?

ROFL

EA stocks plumated 9.72% today BUT an 10mins before the ending bell it rovered a bit and ended at 1.35% down.

EA are lucky because if they ended the days trading down nearly 10% then they would be up bosh'et creek without a kodiak

also if anyone plays the final run in the game, run down the right side and get ready for a weird screwed up action..................out the blue shepard will rin directly to the left without you controlling him

I think that there are multiple things running bad at ea.
Not only Biowares ME 3 and SW TOR.

just think 10% of EA is over $510 MILLION just think what there stock holders would think, mind you $1647 per share for EA it better that $12.92 for activision  but there worth 3 times the value of EA

Yeah, you're right but I don't think they will close Bioware for now...
They will see how TOR will do several months later.
I predict if EA isn't satisfied with TOR they will mostly pull a Westwood on Bioware.

What did EA do to Westwood werent they command and conquer

Hmm Im just wondering how you can delineate between potential causes
of stock increase/decrease accurately enough to pinpoint that one
factor had direct correlation.  If that makes sense?  Is it mostly
educated guesses or is there a sort of formula for this sort of thing?

Excuse me if im asking a completely silly question, lol

EA put a high requierment on the command and conquer:- renegade so high that the game bombed and EA shut it down with literly 24 hours notice and fired all the staff.

this was a week after the game went on sale

Another 'not quite about ME3' link, although we are named in it.

Ever wondered why Forbes has been covering the ME3 story so well, considering it is better known as a financial magazine? Well the following link should explain it. Turns out that Forbes has been in the middle of rebranding itself over the 20 months...Oh, and if anyone asks why Forbes commenting on the ME3 ending debate is so important. Turns out that they had 30 MILLION unique hits on their website in a month...

http://www.forbes.co...-news-business/

Well they are reporting the news better than anyone else concerning the ME 3 mess. They deserve the amount of hits they got.

Wait whats this video on Forbes? 5 Leadership lessons from Captain Kirk?
Okay they are going crazy.

EA has ultra high expectations for SWTOR so high that the costs did spiral out of control at one point.

bioware was really taking there time with it but EA shifted the release date forward..........A LOT FORWARD to a point where bioware pulled staff from other games in development to work on SWTOR.

because of EA's standards of practise (high pressure, no life outside of work) some staff suffered breakdowns, i also heard some staff were divorced because of EA's work ethic.

bioware was doing a great job in ME3 but i think they leaked the script themself so they could give themself a bit more time to work on ME3 a little longer, but i found out myself this week this was not the case.

SWTOR opened up to high numbers across the board and high sub's but due to the many many bugs and some of them were game breakingly bad they started to lose sub's and as of right now SWTOR is starting to hemorrhage money which might explane why none of the PR team can give anyone answers.

this is what happens when you give one game studio 3 HUGE projects to do at the same time.

SWTOR i think will be 100% free to play(free as in still getting mirco transactions) by the 3Q this year but then again it might fall flat on its ass amd die a slow painful death because of EA's customer support is so awful.

also linking forum accounts to origin is a bad mistake as well, you get a ban here then you have a 99% chance of NOT being able to play any of your games (the horror storys i have read are shocking)

but again SWTOR good idea.....BADLY implemented

well why i dont want to see it happen it would knock bioware off its hihg horse hmmmm, and its not like a new EA company wouldnt be able to make the game hmmmm

You can't really attribute EA's stock loss to ME3's ending. If they announce a new game and then its stock immediately drops then you can say it is attributable. For example, when the football league the XFL was announced way back in the 90s by the WWF, its stock immediately dropped 25%. (I'm a fan of stocks and financial data... not of professional wrestling) The entire Dow Jones and NASDAQ is down today. It may have as much to do with oil prices.
