Well technically you can do it without MP you just need to play the Galaxy at War app for the iPad - that's a minor technicality as far as Bioware is concerned  Image IPB

Can you use the datapad app if you don't play MP? I considered getting it for a bit, but I wasn't sure I wanted to waste the time if it wasn't going to do me any good in the end...

I think you can still get the "breath" scene without having to touch the MP. You just need a crap ton of war assets and there was something (in the early days of ME3) mentioning about destroying the collector base in ME2 which boost's your WA straight away..... plus i think you get a big bonus for saving Anderson from TIM in that er last bit before well you know that ending thing. So it is do-able but that's if you want to replay the game again.

Nope. I did all that, and did everything in ME3. Not enough.

Because everyone has an iPad at home~

Not. Haha. I have an iPod touch(downloaded the app and everything), but it won't work if you don't have xbox live gold, so...same problem.

If it is, I'm missing something.

I went through the wiki and made a list of all the war assets, all the updates, and all the choices to figure out which ones were worth more points (save the Council vs. let them die, save the rachni, etc.) and in the best-case-scenario with the From Ashes content, I only found 7660 TMS (or 3830 EMS).

So if it takes 4000, it's impossible.

And yes, I'm sick in the head for spending five hours doing that. :)

Having both quarian and geth forces helps a bucket ton but as someone pointed out early it seems it is impossible to get the perfect destory ending without having touched MP.

My 2nd playthrough (yes i did a 2nd playthrough) i had something like over 6000 but that was due to having 75% from MP.

BTW did anyone look at the bouns tracks from the soundtrack......... Where the hell does CE Betrayal and CE Creation come into the actual game it's self?

4000EMS without MP? We have dismissed that claim.

Someone already opened the files on pc and saw that there aren't enough ems for the breathing scene. I played the game twice. It is impossible

OMG, they lied to me again? :crying::crying::crying:

I hate the MP, now, I need to play that damn thing...

p.s. sorry if I sound mean; it's just that I'm tired of people saying "you can get it without mp" when not one single player has been able to do that so far. No one who has showed proof that they have, I mean. :crying:

I read somewhere that if you tinker with coalesced.ini file, you can get 4000 ems w/o MP by changing values directly there. Haven't tried that myself though, so don't know if it's true, or just LOTS OF SPECULATIONS.

I've played twise now, with a 99% paragon on all games. Total EMS in the end: 3570. 50% readiness

3 multiplayer rounds later: 4400. 63% readiness. With a level 1 account and c haracter I might add.

Quite the incentive to play MP.

Hey lot of us liked SWTOR - I'd seriously play ME MMO - if they fix the ending - EA I know for a fact is looking at doing ME MMO - they'd be stupid not to........

That was no criticism, I was merely pointing out the fact. Not sure if it would be economically efficient to make two quite similar MMO titles.

Bioware have responded about the cupcakes:

"Hi Everyone

Today, we received the 400 cupcakes you collectively sent us through your donations to express your feelings about the endings of Mass Effect 3. We want you to know; we are indeed listening to all fan response and acknowledge your feedback. We appreciate creative and thoughtful attempts like this one.

The gesture certainly gained our attention both with its creativity and deliciousness. However, while we do appreciate that fans were creative in how they expressed their views, after a lot of discussion, we decided ultimately the reason that they were sent was not done in the context of celebrating the work or accomplishment of the Mass Effect 3 team. This is a subtle, but important aspect in determining how to pass the feedback to the team.

BioWare regularly works with many deserving charities, as such it was decided that rather than passing out the cupcakes to staff or wasting good food, to donate them on behalf of our fans to a local Edmonton youth shelter. We know that for the kids that have to use this facility, something as simple as a cupcake is a rare treat and would definitely brighten up their day. Thank you to the fine folks at the local youth shelter for accepting the donation and to the fans who donated the cupcakes.

Please keep providing your feedback on Mass Effect 3, we’re still listening." -Evil Chris"

Why are they penalizing people who don't have Gold or don't play MP? It doesn't make any sense to me.

Then again, if the highest EMS requirement = synthesis ending, that's probably what they're seeing as the "best" ending and therefore you CAN get it without MP.

"Betrayal" is played if you side with the Salarians over the Krogan and shoot Mordin as he's going to cure the genophage.

"Creation" is played when you're at the character creation screen before you start the game. Part of it is also played during the Geth-Quarian space battle.

It's not like you're missing much.  Seeing a five second clip of Shepherd taking a breath doesn't make everything else about the last fifteen minutes suck any less.

Don't accuse anyone of lying. Threads have been closed because of it. To tell the truth, I think that BW made a mistake. There's just not enough points around, and I think they may have planned to throw more around, but ran out of time. But anyhow, this could be fixed, but I would prefer the "opt-out of MP" option. I think I should be able to get the maximum just playing SP.

Yeah, I know. I guess trying to get to that scene was my way of dealing with the mess - thinking there was still something I "hadn't done." I think that's the only reason I spent so much time trying to figure out how to get there, only to find out it was impossible anyway. :(

Well, I play on the Xbox, so...:crying:

Yeah, me too.:crying:

Even if I could, I don't want to pay Xbox Live Gold to have a pointless "bonus". I can't and I don't like MP anyway !

But the point is, they tied the "best" ending to the MP. Period.

Over in the feedback thread I listed three things that they should be able to fix through patches. One was they should increase the value of the war assets so people were not forced to play MP...Of course I did feel compelled to point out that your score doesn't have any real effect anyway at the moment....

Just reading one of the other threads and some users are rightly pointing out that when presented with three options (of cupcakes) they chose a new 4th option and donated them while we had no such choice with the ending lol
