Right there with you. I tried to play Infamous on the PlayStation the other day, and just couldn't get into it. The second someone said "Reapers" (the name of one of the gangs in the game for those who haven't played it), I was just like, "That's it, I'm done." Turned it off and ended up watching Jeopardy instead.

i bet a question popped up on Jeopardy saying "i have the worst ending ever" and i bet the first thing you would do is swear then launch the tv through the window

LOL. Yeah, that's probably what would have happened. :)

On a side-note, does anyone else find it odd that the US release date of the game was 3/6 and PAX is on 4/6? Or am I drinking the conspiracy kool-aid again?

What color Kool-Aid? Image IPB

Well, I had a red one, a green one, and a blue one, but for some reason they all taste the same...

Bioware already put a large hole in their reputation with the mess that was DA2. They were VERY fortunate that so many people were willing to assume it was a hiccup and give them a second chance with ME3...in fact they have been even luckier that people have given them a third chance by asking for the ending to be changed - rather than just writing the company off as a waste of time, effort and money.

They will not get a fourth chance....

you are correct- that they will not... and  that needs to be made a clear as possible... they are extremely lucky and the message needs  said to the faces at Pax.. live. Its not rude but the truth and they need to hear it instead living in the bubble they have put themselves in.

just watches the german gamestar test video of ME3... they said that "the ending leaves no questions open and brings closure to everything, thats how you finish a trilogy" (word for word translation)

lied straight to our faces, i think i wont buy this magazine anymore... what use is there in buying it, when you cant trust em anyway...

what they dident tell you was that EVERY review copy does not have the ending cutscenes, it just goes directly back to the godchild bit

They probably didn't  play ME1+2 either, as so many other journalists giving reviews until now have already stated... Big problem though, how can you genuinely review the final chapter of a trilogy, if you can't be bothered to invest your time in the previous chapters.

SWTOR was their second chance to be honest and it was average.

I discount TOR, simply because so many people would have (and probably did) get it because it was a Star Wars title not because it was made by Bioware. Plus while there is, of course, and overlap between those who would play Mass Effect and an MMO. For the most part they are two different customer groups, and of course two different types of game, and therefore the performance of TOR says little about Bioware's core customer base and its confidence in the company over all.

I didn't care about TOR, never had any desire or intention of getting it, only knew it was out when I happened to see it on the shelves and only knew how it was recieved and doing when I started to read up on it in the last few weeks...And I'd guess that I'm far from the only one in this regard.

So TOR wasn't a factor one way or another in my decision to buy ME3. DA2 however WAS a major factor - I had the option to get the collectors edition or the basic version. I went for the basic version purely because I had felt badly let down by the quality of DA2.

Now the quality of ME3, and how Bioware deals with the ending, WILL affect my decisions regarding not only Bioware titles but those from their masters at EA.

If they 'explain' the endings or otherwise do nothing I WILL having nothing what-so-ever to do with companies who produce sub-standard products and treat their customers like crud.

If they release an ending that is half-arsed or which I have to pay for then I will always assume that any future games will be poor quality until or unless I see a LOT of customer reviews that indicate otherwise.

If they release a fair to good quality ending I don't have to pay for then while I'm still going to be wary of Bioware titles in future - something for which Bioware could thank the game reviewers for defending that which could not be defended and insulting anyone who didn't agree with them. However I am likely to keep track of their releases, and pick them up if it seems the customer reviews are reasonably favourable.

But there's a nother point. Shepard and party just stand there like idiots while Thane fistifights Robin 2.0. Why isn't there a Paragon interupt if you romanced Thane to shoot the masked douche in the face? Thane still may die but at least Shepard would have made him/herself useful instead of just standing there NOT USING THE GUN in her hands!

Totally agree. I'm just sitting there watching this cinematic with two other squad mates. He's outnumbered and I can't even send squaddies to flank him? WTF?

SWTOR is an MMO, and you just cannot bring this kind of atmosphere into an MMO... i would hate to see the ME universe screwed by putting it into an MMO!

Hmm... Maybe doing a Demon's Souls kinda thing? Your own open world, then interacting with other players for ''dungeons'' by joining a queue?

While I agree it's not a great scene, I can in
an off handed kind of way see it, Shepard is still a Council Spectre,
and there is a Councilor there that she needs to make sure comes out of
it alright.  So I can see that being her thought process.  At the same
time, there were numerous times when she could have just shot Kai Leng and that would have been the end of it.  So
yeah, it was definitely not one of their better scenes.  I personally like the one in the leaked script much better myself.

So Bioware's response to leaks is to smear it with poop? classy.

I knew it was going to end badly after Lang reapers the whole time I'm going, " Thane stop it!" Shep could've taken over if Thane wasn't so obsessed with dancing with Lang shep would've just shot him till he scampered away.

But even so, the cutscenes like that or Ashley/Kaidan's having their asses kicked by the android while Shep just shouts could also have been improved. Maybe showing Shep lining his shots but unable to find a clear one. But as it was, it seemed a bit forced. Shep wouldn't just stand while TIM talks to the Android and decides what to do with his companion in the droid's hands.

You have good points but  loot at from this perspective...  that fight was drawn more of a dramatic effect.  Really anexchange like the between  two fighters  of thane and Kei Leng skill would have go by in a matter of seconds and a lot faster.

Shepard would not have had a clear shot.

Still I was expecting some Phantoms to drop in out or somethings.. that would have made it a bit better instead of the them just standing there.

Paragon Shepard also preferred to let his/her team have space.  Delegation is leadership and all.  He/She knew Thane was dying, he/she knew Thane needed to settle this score.. much like he/she lets Udina get shot by Spectre Kaiden rather then shoot him themself.  They stepped in once it was obvious that Thane needed help.

Renegade Shepard, on the other hand, would ignore ones teammates in a focused drive to the goal regardless of the costs.

Hmm yeah sounds kinda like they crapped on Thanes romance a bit. They supposedly did the same with Jacob. Kinda sad. I really liked the Tali romance though she shows up really late in the game again. -grumble-

I know right? It would've been nice to be able to go to the Quarians, unite back up with Tali, tell Han'Gerrel he's an idiot before he gets tons of Quarians killed, find Legion, delegate a peacful settlement for both, and THEN do the rest. Saves on the headaches for everyone.

Still loved her dialouge though, especially as she was my LI. Watching her overload Normandy's propulsion though was hilarious, if not a bit irksome. (What are you doing to my ship hun? Aiyee!)

How did you get that dialogue?

You and I understand that about  Thane  about character ... it was his  fight  but not everyone else. I know that it  was  Thane score to settle and that he wanted die not on a hospital bed but fighting in his  insterting variety of space Bushido.  The problem was it was not  conveyed very well to the audience  whch is why there are many complaints about Thane fight with Kei Leng. .

I liked  it and understood  what was deal from moment  Thane showed up... it was own.

No kidding lol.  It's not like it was from random people either.. it was from a professional catering company and had a significant amount of money spent on it.
