They were not rejected, they were sent onto a youth center, basically Bioware did the same as the folk who sent them the cupcakes.

...wow.  Even if it was a protest, I'd never say no to cupcakes.

No kidding lol.  It's not like it was from random people either.. it was from a professional catering company and had a significant amount of money spent on it.

Eating those cupcakes would of been a violation of their artistic integrity though.

Ooph!, how things can get out of hand when taken in the wrong context, please stop using the term rejected, they were gifted to another organization.

They were given to a youth group because they were kind of protest cupcakes rather than celebration ones. Yes, "rejecting" might not be the right word, but it wasn't accepted either.

EDIT: link might work better ;)

Poor Youth.. if they played ME3's ending they got the endings twice... though in cupcake form.. which technically makes up for it. Image IPB

BioWare donated it to a child-shelter, obviously out of charity. I'd say it's okay to say "meh" but not to nag about it.

They were not 'rejected' as such, rather Bioware felt it was more appropreate to donate them to a nearby childrens shelter.

I have no problems with them doing this, the point had been made, Bioware did say thank you and children benefited.

Of course some wags have noted that when presented with three choices Bioware was able to do something we couldn't in game - pick option three....

I'm also finding it hard to get rid of the development team being lined up and told 'Bad Dev's no cupcakes for you!'....

... wow.  If we ever got 400 complaint cupcakes at work we'd have just eaten them.. it bothers me when management feels it necessary to micromanage what their staff eat lol... wonder if that's an EA PR thing or what.

We've been VERY hard on Bioware over the last few weeks - rather understandable really - and picking apart every little thing they said or didn't say.

I think that in this case we should give them a break, and assume that they made the donation in the exact same spirit that we donated to Childs-Play.

Out of interest though...does anyone else think we should have sent them the Porsche they asked for....? ;)

About the cupcakes. Yes, they did good sending it to charity. But I still think BW is not dealing with fans in the best way possible. They should have just said: "hey, we loved it. We are still listening. We know that, in the end, it shows how deep is our relationship with our fans. But we decided to donate them to a good charity".

Why add that "they know that the cupcakes are a form of "irony", and not some congratulation on the team's work, so they are not eating them"?

Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing in itself, but seemed too much, a little sour, and could have been avoided so an even better relation is achieved. Have some fun with it, for Christ's sake.

I agree at least we know that they recieved them, and that they were givin to a better cause.

*snip*

I personally like the one in the leaked script much better myself.

Well, what was the script-version of the Thanke-KaiLeng-Scene like?

I am curious to know this, too.

From what I remember, not finding the copy of the leak I read at the moment, was that Thane would drop down and end up dying from either a gunshot wound from Udina while Thane tried to protect the Asari Councilor, or he would fight Udina for the gun, after which (Can't remember if he killed Udina at that point or Kaidan did) he succumbed to his disease due to exhaustion.

Once I find the copy of the leak I read, I'll post more details.

Agreed.  The statement might have been a bit sour, but we can say that some kids who need a little brightness in their lives got a tasty treat.

This is exactly what I meant by "they weren't accepted".
Sure, donating to charity is a nice thing and I wouldn't have minded it, if they hadn't mentioned that the reason for donating was because the cupcakes were not celebrating cupcakes...

Also, isn't it cheating? They picked option D. We didn't have that in our game.
Oh wait. Maybe they are making option D....hmm...maybe...

No offense but, after reading their statement again, I think in a way they did.

Would you be glad if they said that and though ate them? I also think they did not donate them because of the "irony". I think they would have done it anyway. Come on, at least this time, they made young people happy.

When there will be no end-DLC:

"Here lies the Mass Effect-saga.
K.I.A.
by friendly fire."

In my yard.
Hell yeah.
