I just realized I've never met a Canadian in my life (even though I'm not that far from Canada)


Oh wait. I did meet a couple of Canadians. But they were celebrities, so they weren't "real" Canadians, if you know what I mean.

Rofl.  I'm not like rage angry... I'm just disappointed that my hero of a company has turned out to be just as lousy at seeing their own faults as the rest of us.  If I were angry at this point I'd probably have posted a giant, way too thought out, strategy on how to get EA to, not only take notice, but apologize for Bioware's single-handedly being the downfall of humanity, causing World War 3, assassinating JFK and eating babies....everyone knows Bioware didn't assassinate JFK though

But I agree with you wholeheartedly...I expected way more out of Casey & Co. but I just keep trying to remember that no one is perfect and they are on a slippery slope here. I almost think if this had not gotten so big it would have been easier for them to release some ending-related DLC and do some fanservice in the meantime. But now...I dunno.

It's just the way he says this part:

Yes, what he means is that accepting the cakes could be seen as a bribe. Like it or not retake has and is being seen as a being a 'power' in the gaming industry - seriously, someone put us at number 40 on the list...admitidly Bioware's office cat is at number 38 but still...

The simple fact is that we have an agenda, and we are seen as a group rather than a bunch of individuals. In this light Bioware couldn't accept the cakes at this time. Everything retake has 'planned' is posted on message boards anyone can read, and the intent behind the gesture was to convince Bioware to pay attention to our calls for the ending to be changed...hence it could/would be seen as a bribe even though it really wasn't intended that way. Had we decided to do this AFTER getting a new ending or confimation Bioware was going to give us one it would have been a simple thank you with no strings attached,

As to the wording of the statement. I simply read it as coming from someone who is worn out and who simply didn't or wasn't able to fully articulate what the reasons were quite as they intended.

The impression I have is that all the Bioware staff took the whole thing with good cheer, and really were greatfull at the thought and intentions behind it. But, like I said, they couldn't really accept the cakes as this would or could be taken the wrong way.


As to them not saying anything. They said they would have a statement in April, and indications are this is most likely going to be at PAX. They will not be making any comments before then - which we knew already.

For the time being I think we need to call a truce and give Bioware and their staff a break by not trying to read more into anything posted or said (unless it is an official statement) and taking things at face value for the next week.

After the 6th we can go back to disecting every little word for its 'real' meaning if the news from PAX isn't good

My god, I finally got round to watching the Retake Fan Testimonials. Since it's all voice I had music on in the background and once I hit the fan reactions to the ending From the Wreckage from ME1 started playing. I just burst into tears.

How on earth did this happen, guys :C Everything else in the series is so good, and then ;_;

I keep reading these statements from certain peoples in bioware, this one in particular:
slumz.boxden.com/f13/bioware-co-founder-explains-why-me3-ending-sucks-his-answer-because-dlc-1723571/

And I keep getting the feeling like they the only reason they want feedback is because they had no clue how to end the game period. I feel like a teacher is asking me for critisism because he's stuck on his own thesis report and using his student's ideas as his own. (and YES it does happen)
I'm beginning to wonder if all this "DLC in the future please buy" BS Is because they're waiting for that little grain of critisims that can be expanded into the game and not bother to say that it came from the ideas of the players in the first place.
 All I will say is that my stomache is twisted into knots and I hope they give us a real ending.

LBJ, Castro, and the mob were all conspiring together with BW. Castro had sleeper agents in Dallas' police force that accepted the apology while the mob sent in the "garbage" man to clean up the coffee cups. LBJ then had to be sworn in on AF1 in order to instruct the secret service to prevent any more Canadians from going to the media with apologies.

The truth is now known. This is what is actually in the truth dlc as well. This entire ending debacle has been under construction since the early 60s.

I'm sorry !  I really wish I was in a better mood.

I was laughing at lunch and in a pretty good mood, got home and saw what they had said about a cupcake drive.. I didn't even donate to THAT drive but still felt like it was on behalf of the community... I just didn't get a sense of a professional response from them...   Yeah they have a right to say what they want.. but if I said half of what they get away with on twitter I'd be fired at my work.... and possibly bring down the company in the process.

 I just want my Bioware back.. the one that used to be an advocate FOR us, not the one we were arguing with for quality and respect.  I support Day 1 DLC.. I support Paid for DLC in general because I understand development budgets... I don't understand releasing incomplete products and then excusing it away with biased reviewer's articles and the occassional bigfoot ending liker

So it's been a few days since the last time I played ME3.  That weekend MP event seems interesting enough to get me playing again...wish I could say the same thing for the SP portion!  I'm starting to wonder if all this "holding the line" jazz is really worth it.  They've already turned down those cupcakes (an option I could do with personally), and the days counting down to some announcement is not easing this sinking feeling of dread.  Brace yourselves; this storm is about to get worse.  When it does, that'll be the day I close this account down and uninstall ME3 for good. 


Not much hope left at this point.  I was starting to like the ME universe too.

I know it can seem hard to take man but you need to hang on and hold on my comrade. This is the long waiting game it is going to be hard, it may get you down, but hold on your not on the line alone.

Yes, but that statement is exactly correct.  If Retake Cupcake was meant only as a celebration of the team's work, then the way they were frosted wouldn't have anything to do with the ending, and neither would the notes.

Now if we were to send them something like, I dunno, a couple of cakes with the ME squad members frosted on the top and notes like why we admire Commander Shepard or which character we've come to feel the closest to, then that would be a celebration of accomplishment with no strings attached.  Turning away that gift would be a slap in the face, but not one that basically says 'we love you but your endings suck'.

I've dealt with a lot of disappointments before and been able to walk away unscaved.  But this...this feels different.  I wouldn't be here if it weren't for those endings!
