Well the endings are pretty much deus ex. I posted this previously.

Synthesis - JC uploads himself to Helios and now humanity is one and together and he controls all of earths electronics including microchips. JC no longer exists as a single entity.

Destroy - JC says this is all wrong and destroys Helios which then humanity is plunged into a dark age. JC supposedly escapes or dies in the explosion.

Control - JC decides to preserve helios and gives power to the illuminanti which he becomes a member of giving the illumanti total control of humanity.

See the similarities? Btw for anyone who has not played Deus Ex go play it, its way ahead of its time.

Do you also find it ironic that the writers said that there'd be 'no Deus Ex' in the ending.

I saw the youtube vids, dont have the links, but i am sure someone will post them again. very...very heartbreaking. Seeing the fire behind joker as hes trying to drive the normandy to escape

It's the Inusannon. They inhabited the planet before the Protheans in the cycle before. The city was built on pre-existing ruins.

That's not an ending, idiot.  That's a brief, static cutscene from one of the endings.  It doesn't confirm anything except that some colorful **** can happen to the mass relays, and that the Normandy and Joker can get exploded.

But then I don't have a problem with the mass relays being destroyed, because it was hinted at on more than one occasion in the previous games.  You know, what with galactic civilization developing along the pathways reapers desire and Aethyta thinking that the asari should really build their own relays.  The mass relays are inherently reaper tech.  If the reapers go, the relays go.

I have decided that I want an artistic happy ending. No longer just a less sucky one, but a real live happy ending.

I want Rainbow Randolph and Smoochy to come out dancing and singing.
I want fireworks and ewoks playing drums on reaper parts.
I want the Asari matriarch council member to give my shep a lapdance in thanks for saving everyone.
I want Miranda and Ashley to oil wrestle to see who gets shep, and finally agree both do.
I want the Quarians to jump out of their armor and Garrus and Tali do a song and dance routine to Grease.

yeah. A real happy ending.

Jillian Murray's face (Liara) came out fantastic. And that was made in 2005-2006!

Almost 7000 posts and not 1 Bioware comment ? We can hope for DLC post game after that I can sadly put my bioware purchase days behind me if I get burned on ME 3 like I did on Dragon Age 2 .

Yeah, whoever. And I'm trying to figure out how they pulled the Strahovski thing off. She's gorgeous, and it's not even like it's an exotic beauty. In ME2, from the neck up she looks like one of the Normandy crew's descendants.

I have little doubt he recommended that for one and only purpose: to prepare you for when YOUR Shepard is given the exact same fate, at least you know that such a fate could be in the cards.  Think about it, the people who will be most upset with this crap ending are those who are completely unaware and play their hundred-hour-plus Shepard hoping for unicorns and rainbows.  The people like us who know the ending is going to hurt will experience less emotional distraught when it happens.  That's the only logical explanation why he'd you'd want to send in a generic guy first, because you won't have nearly the emotional attachment as when your pristine or canon shep is greeted with a completely depressing fate yet it warns you such a fate is coming.

One of my past GF asked to go to the movies to see "The Color Purple" after about an hour of grueling teeth clenching, i ended up spending an extra 5 bucks playing pinball.

It did not go well for me once we left.

On the plus side, she is now married and has 4 kids, and weighs about 220.

I will forever be in debt to the color purple.

I don't see why people are so surprised, they never promised us a happy ending. In fact, they outright said it wouldn't happen, it's even in the known features thread under Dev Promises.

I agree with you on all your points. It makes sense for everything else and i don't care about it. I just want a happy ending for my shep. I find it extremely hard to believe they would give us all sad endings.

No one is denying the videos exist, they are just arguing that the different 1:20 static clips are inconclusive and show only part of one, possibly two endings.

And there has yet to be any visual evidence supporting the Normandy crashing on a deserted planet, which I'm pretty sure is the ending causing the biggest uproar on this thread.

This is supposed to be the story of Commander Shepard not Captain Eo.
