ok for a hypothetical paradox, in other words a "WHAT IF...." thing
ok for talking sake say bioware added more endings coving 90% of the possibe endings and they added some extra stuff.
now WHAT IF bioware looked you right in the eye and asked you
"what else do you want added or changed and it can be ONLY ONE thing"
WHAT would you change OR add
the rules are simple you cannot remove things BUT you can add ONE thing or CHANGE one thing.
i would ADD a mission to save thane.
OR
change some part of it where legion is saved, saved in a way where he made a backup copy of himself, that way when he sacrifices himself edi could then restore the backup to legions platform body.
thats just TWO of many many ideas.
now remember this is a hypothetical
Or more interactions with squadmates / LIs.
I wouldn't change Legion or Mordin's deaths, they were poignant and heartbreaking but fit the story for me.
I would want my old squad members in my party instead of just making cameos. Or at least on my ship with good dialogue.

If it was a 'small' change I'd go for a 'hero' shot prior to the final attack on Earth.
Imagine;
Close up on Shepard looking determined, he/she looks over his shoulder as the camera pans back to reveal Anderson getting ready for battle. Shepard looks over his/her other shoulder as the camera continues to pan back, revealing another squad mate.
The camera continues to pan, showing all the surviving crew members from all three games standing in a loose line. They are checking weapons, flaring biotics and generally getting ready for the last battle. They look around at each other, small smiles and nods are exchanged between them and Shepard.
We see small gaps in the line, for those party members who have fallen along the way. For a few heartbeats the entire 'cast' of squadmates from the games is seem standing together.
The camera starts to move back in slowly on Shepard, who turns back, looks down and gives a small smile at being here at the end with his crew mates.
Focus on Shepards face again, there is a distant rumble. Shepard looks up, face set and says 'It's time...Move out!'
The party moves forward as one, breaking off as they go until only Shepard and the two party members picked for the last mission remain. The camera rotates around the group, until it settles behind Shepard in the usual game view...then the mission starts.

add in this
when shepard says "move out" the camera pans up as the normandy does a guns blazing fly over to harbinger as a signal to go ahead with the attack.
remember joker is the best pilot in the entire alliance, he took down soverign and the collector ship so you cant go into battle with him

Maybe I do know...
I want what we were promised, endings from the Reapers win to Shepard walking away with LI and the galaxy saved, and everything in between.
I've said it before and will say it again, I've been here from about page 50, first post was around 200, and I defended Bioware. I honestly could not believe they did what they have done. I was so sure it was a trick, a hoax, anything but what it really was. Even after the release and people came here and confirmed our fears, I still didn't want to believe it. All the way up until I finished my run, then I sat and cried. However, not for the reason you think, while the endings were terrible and so misplaced in this universe, I was sad over the betrayal I felt from Bioware. I felt that Bioware had taken the absolute trust I had given them and tossed it away in the matter of 20 minutes. I've been a Bioware fan for close to ten years I guess, I know there are many of you here who have been fans much much longer, but Bioware was one of the few game companies that I felt got it. I mean, I wasn't 'happy' with Dragon Age 2, but I wasn't unhappy with it either, I just didn't feel it was a sequal to Dragon Age: Origins. I was enjoying TOR - another game I had been waiting with much anticipation for - even with the decisions Bioware made in regards to Revan and everything else that went along with it.
I expected more from them. I said it in my letter to them, I just don't understand how for that last 20 minutes of the game, they became so disconnected from their audience (us). All of their games show that for the most part, Bioware is very aware of who their audience is and what that audience expects, so what happened when they were putting together those last 20 minutes of Mass Effect 3? I just don't get it, no matter how many times I look over things, review the things I see, I don't get it.
Even if Bioware fixes this (and yes I do at this time believe that is a very big IF), they have still damaged that trust between us the fans, the audience and themselves. It will take time for that trust to be rebuilt, even if it can be. This is what makes me so sad, and so very very angry.
So I guess most of all, I want to understand why this happened, how it happened, in addition to seeing it fixed. I think Bioware really needs to step up and make this right, it is the only way they can even begin to repair the damage this disconnect has done. The only way to even begin to design the bridge to cross the rift this created between them and us. The simple fact that there is now a them and us, instead of all of us, that we have to take this stance... I just, yeah I'm wordy but I don't have words for this, I guess that's why I keep coming back to it and haven't been able to shelve it for the time being.
Sorry for the rambling rant...
Kyria

I believe it has to do with this.
The lead writer leaves; maybe his replacements didn't like being second choices and wanted to make the series their own rather than following what their predecessor had in mind.
Just an idea my friends and I had the other night.

I would be all over that if all of ME 3 had been crap (remember Drew left during ME 2 to move over to TOR, so all of ME 3 was written by Mac and company), but it wasn't so for 95% of the game, they remembered who their audience was, it's that other 5% that has me scratching my head and going WTF. I mean I guess we could run with the idea that because they hadn't been choice number one they intentionally did this, but I just can't see that getting past the higher ups, I mean really?
I don't know, most people don't consider me an optimist, but maybe I am being overly optimistic about this. I just don't know, but maybe it really is me just not wanting to think the worst of Bioware. I guess I'll just keep moving forward and we'll see what happens as it happens.
HOLD THE LINE!

BioWare wont give you the endings you requier. They are more intrested in MP maps and the new Command and Conquer they are making for the EAlords.
theres diffrent teams in bioware for diffrent projects, the star wars team
mass effect team
dragon age team and so on
the team making the C&C game was recently moved into bioware offices so its not MP only, we were promised new content which was NOT on there list and now they have to stick to there promises
remember the whole world is now watching them
